Laugh at people who think any part of KC is really that dangerous. Also laugh at them if they mention the "traffic".

All relative.

It really is.

This is one of FFF's better threads in a while. Feels like a warm blanket.

I do a lot of work for many of the apartment buildings as they are being converted/renovated downtown.  Some of them that are selling for $130+ are so small that the two bed rooms don't even have doors because they wouldn't have enough room in the living room to swing.

When you've lived and traveled on the East Coast for 15 years you appreciate how easy it is to get around Kansas City.   Giant   at anyone who complains about the roads and traffic in Kansas City.

I give JoCo some props for having semi-decent zoning laws, and I give Overland Park props for having a real traffic control system.  I also give OP props for their program that goes in and renovates older areas so they don't start looking like CAC.    The older parts of JoCo are 1000% elite, and if someone says they aren't you proably think Bonner Springs is awesome.  The "new money" areas of JoCo are absolute CAC  :barf:.

My favorite parts of KC are as I said old JoCo and the old "downtowns" of its various cities born out of the days of when they was actual space between what were essentially small towns.    Then throw in the Plaza/Midtown/Ward Parkway area.   The Old JoCo/Plaza/Midtown/Ward Parkway/Mission Hills area is probably one of the nicest contingious urban/suburban areas in the country.

wouldn't brag about living in Colo Springs.  the place is a nest of PTSD soldiers looking for people to shoot and crimes to commit.  ya sounds awesome, sounds like a great garden to live in.

that town is a weird town to live in, no doubt. only people from kansas wanting to try and trick other kansas who have never actually spent any significant amount of time there would brag about it. it's basically a less progressive version of wichita filled with religious nutsos that happens to sit at the base of a mountain range that you can't even ski down. no thanks. i'll pass.

That's why God created Fountain. Ft Carson has their own little village down there so they don't have to disturb everyone else. As for the Air Force, no reason for them to get PTSD doing paper work at their desk.

somewhere there's a guy from the 4th Infantry Division’s 4th Brigade Combat Team who looks at that and sees Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley.

I like san fran better because it's much prettier (ocean/beaches/bay/sweet bridges). it's too bad the people are so monochromatic.

it's crazy how small san fran is (land size) compared to KC (friggin beast)

the plaza is pretty nice!
