One time, I was playing against one of those shorter, 40-something fellas at the rec.  The only defense he had was to grab my arms when I shot.  So, I posted up on him with a pretty strong elbow to the chest...just to show him who's boss. Welp, he pushed in the back with both hands!   So, I jumped up and knocked him in the chest and told him what a BIG man he was to go pushin girls around! (Yes, I'm 6'2 and he was like...5'9 or something...so what?!  Unfair fight?  Probably.  Deserving?  Definitely.)  We both had to leave for the night.  Anyone else ever got kicked out of the rec??  I know my husband's so proud... 

Thanks for bringing this back around to the original topic!  Yes, you were well within your rights.  You also should have made a disparaging comment about his 1) appearance 2) penis size/fracking ability and then brought it back to your original point with a Freud shout-out filling in the gaps.  That or just kneed him in the balls and called him a loser.

Oh mos def. should have called him out when you were posting him up. shouldve said 'what is that it feels like a penis only smaller.'

I actually have made quite a few penis size comments to guys that seem to have the small-guy syndrome.  He was no exception.  It's always entertaining.

For those who don’t know, an “And one” is when someone calls a foul and the ball goes in. In pro sports, this basket counts. In pick up, it’s highly debated. well, eff that crap. It should not be debated. If you call a foul in pick up ball, you do not get the basket. That’s some weirdo soft suburban/L.A. bullshit that makes no sense at all. It allows pussies to call a foul every time they get touched. Fouls should only be called when they’re real. Ticky tac foul calls have no place in pick up ball. By not getting the basket on a foul call, it makes the shooter think before they actually call the foul. It also makes the game go quicker. It’s the only fair way to do it and it blows my mind that people let that crap fly.]

2)  be such a bad ass on the court that no one is going to foul you that hard

I go for the hard foul at game point if possible, but only in a half court setting.  You don't tackle someone with a breakaway, but you can foul hard on a shot in transition.  Usually, if I'm playing D in a 2 on 1 situation, I'll foul hard to give my defense a chance to set up whether it's game point or not.

It's common knowledge that bballers don't know how to fight.  Bball fights usually end up looking more like women's cat fights.

On offense, a guy was playing lazy defense at the wing, just basically running parallel to me while I nudge him to the center of the paint to give me a better angle to the basket. As I kick the ball out to the perimeter, he grabs my arm, and says, "if you push off, I am going to grab your arm." I generally have no problem with an exchange of contact, but I don't think grabbing an arm is equal to creating contact with someone playing lazy ass defense. I really didn't care, and I will do it again (only maybe call his foul if he does it on a shot), but just wanted a goEMAW ruling.

That guy went far beyond being a pussy, IMO.  Extremely odd behavior.  It's just childish.  He's a freak.  On the other hand, I don't think physical play is very typical of pick up games.  People don't normally use their bodies to fight for position, do they?
