The program will outlive oscar, CNS Casey. It seems bleak right now, but we will overcome.

The question has never been will it out live oscar, it's will anyone care that it out lived oscar.

So, maybe oscar is sloppy that particular morning in the field and just hits us in the lung rather than the heart. Fastforward a decade and our lungs are so bad we can't run any more but on good days we can walk out to get the mail.

Optimism on a lower ebb, but holding. Unlike the outright haters, I think there's some talent here. As Bread has pointed out, and it's one thing that drives me crazy . . . don't recruit guys that you think you want to get up and down the floor with, don't talk about pushing the ball, and then not push the ball. This appears to be some guys who can get up and down the floor.

Can they board, can they play D? I fear we could score a lot of points, but give up even more.

The best I can come up with is Shane is a NBA player and can still shoot 40% on 3s as the primary(only?) perimeter threat, one of the freshman pgs is legit and the rest of our NRs are at least average Big 12 athletes. I will admit I have hope Weber can sprinkle the same jumper improvement dust on Gip that he gave Shane and Gip starts reliably hitting 15 footers in conference play.

All the above happening a 5% chance and probably means 4th in the conference and a 8-9 game appearance.

And these upper half optimisms based on what? the rest of league outside of OSU losing a ton? Faith in the DTIR recruits? Just good old fashioned purple koolaid drinking?

I will round up my optimism to a 1 but I am sure i will start to talk myself up to 5 by October.

Shane has a hell of a long way to go to become an NBA player

Foster is a Parade All-American. Tucks on other board eating it up as oscar affirmation. But WTF? Has he played enough quality AAU ball to rate that or is Parade just bathroom literature (Semi was their player of the year)?
I expect a good athlete and potentially good player but one who arrives with a lot of holes in his game.
