The day UW starts talking negatively about our recruiting will be the day we know to throw in the towel. I have a feeling that day is coming soon.

This is season two, after the losing starts.

If Karrington Ward ends up being the headliner in this class, then I'll be concerned.

Still have my hopes up for Jabari Parker just because I can. I know he won't come here, but I like to believe.  :crossfingers:

Most recent Sports Illustrated.

A little dated but if you didn't read the SI article, here's a 15 minute podcast from the author of the piece.  Parker is incredibly interesting.

ESPN newly released Top 100

18. Wainright
32. Ojeleye - Sounds like he just keeps getting better, his rankings among all services continue to improve
69. K. Williams - This kid sounds legit, is it too late for Chet to jump in there and work his magic?
93. Harris

Semi Ojeleye just dunked so hard he shifted the basket. Took five minutes to put it back to normal.

So guess who's shown up in the Rivals database showing a KSU offer?

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Vitto-Brown-112611

Minnesota offered him a couple days back, and that sounds completely legit, but the update makes it pretty clear, KSU has been in contact but NOT offered(yet).

Westicles took an unofficial visit to SMU this weekend, alongside his AAU teammates(Houston Defenders) Andrew and Aaaron Harrison, who are both really, really good.

From Premier Bball twitter last week, KSU now showing interest in 6'3" SG Jordan Mathews from Santa Barbara, CA.

Scout's Josh Gershon also reported KSU's interest in Mathews at this last weekend's EYBL event in Oakland. Mathews is reporting offers from Colorado, VCU, San Diego St, San Francisco and Wyoming. Along with the new interest from KSU, he has additional interest from Indiana, Butler, TCU, Cal, and Nevada. He took an unofficial visit to Cal this weekend.

From the Bossi report and video linked below, Mathews has a great shot at jumping into the Top 150 thanks in large part to his stellar play in the EYBL for the California Supreme, coached by Miles Simon. Mathews's Dad, Phil, is an assistant at UCLA.

The best I can tell, Mathews would be an AB3 recruit, Phil was on Doc Sadler's staff at Nubb for 4 years, AB3 was part of staff at Ark Ft Smith JC directly after Sadler left there to become an asst at UTEP. Phil has also been HC at a couple different Cali JCs throughout his career.

Mathews update from Wyoming site:

"I can score the ball," Mathews said when asked his strengths. "I am becoming a better distributor, but I can really score. I am a jump shooter, first and foremost."

The scholarship offer list for Mathews currently numbers four - Wyoming, Colorado, San Diego State and Virginia Commonwealth. Mathews said he is hearing from a host of other schools such as Nevada, Gonzaga, Kansas State, Kansas, Indiana. However, he hasn't named a top-10 and said he is going to take his time in the recruiting process."

New name(sorta), Isaiah Taylor 6'1" PG from Houston(but originally from Norcal), playing AAU with Texas Pro, has impressed scouts with his ability to beat opponents off the dribble and create for himself or find open teammates. He's also been noted for playing a solid floor game and making good decisions with the ball.

Taylor was a prospect that Martin's staff had been in some contact with. According to Scout's Josh Gershon, Weber's staff has resumed recruiting Taylor given the AB3/Houston connection. Taylor currently has offers from San Jose St, George Mason, and Lehigh with interest from Pepperdine, Washington State, Illinois, Texas A&M, Cornell, Kansas State, Florida State and LSU.

From NBE basketball report 5/28:

"PG Isaiah Taylor (Texas Pro)

Taylor displayed good lead guard skills, with the ability to get his teammates into their offensive sets and the quickness needed to make plays himself both evident. Taylor’s got good handle and while he isn’t a world-class speed guy he’s plenty quick enough to be a handful for defenders."

Jalen James has reopened his recruitment. I wouldn't be surprised if Weber tries to reunite with him.

"PLEASANT SURPRISE

Dustin Thomas (Pleasant Grove) is a 6-foot-8 power forward/post player for the Dallas Trojans that has a lot to offer. He is a banger underneath, and a face up four-man. The versatile interior player showed off nice perimeter skills for a player his size and a sweet looking stroke out past the three point line. Thomas has a built made for the next level."

Good ol Dusty seems to be a hot topic tonight, so there's more of that where that came from.  :users:

"The Dallas Trojans' coach Rod Taylor checked in and feeling good about his players. The Trojans are rolling over the competition and their players are proving it with the amount of attention they are receiving. Six-foot-8 power forward and interior player Dustin Thomas from Pleasant Grove is receiving interest from Arkansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas."

Coveted 2013 small forward Semi Ojeleye (Ottawa, Kans./Ottawa) is set to visit Duke this weekend. The well-built, 6-foot-6 Ojeleye told Eric Bossi of Rivals.com that he's hopeful of landing an offer on his visit, and according to Clint Jackson of Rivals "offer is expected to come from the Duke staff."

Duke is one of 11 schools vying for Ojeleye, a 6-foot-6, 220-pounder who is currently ESPN's No. 39 recruit for next year.

Duke along with Arizona, Indiana, UCLA, Stanford, Kansas, Kansas State, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin and Oregon make out his list of finalists. All but Duke, Kansas and Indiana have offered. And Ojeleye indicates that he would like to narrow his list by the middle of June and possibly come to a decision before the start of his senior season.

Duke already has two highly touted young wings on its roster in redshirt freshman Alex Murphy and incoming freshman Rasheed Sulaimon, but it could still make room for Ojeleye, who brings excellent rebounding and 3-point shooting to the position.

New name and offer, Nathan Hawkins 6'5" wing with handling capabilities. From a report from Cassidy, KSU is the 1st high major to offer Hawkins joining UTEP, Albany, San Fran, and Lehigh(damn you Lehigh  :shakesfist:). Other high majors such as OK St, Texas, and Colorado have also shown interest. TX hoops ranked him as the 26th best prospect in that state for the Class of '13.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Nathan-Hawkins-121992

Hawkins plays AAU ball with the Dallas Mustangs, same team as SG Marcus Foster who KSU has earlier offered for this class. Writeup on Foster and Hawkins from about 1 mo ago linked below:

"Marcus Foster 6’3 PG 2013 (Dallas Mustang Elite) Hirschi HS Wichita Falls, TX is a strong ball handler that likes to bull his way to the basket to score… He can hit a mid-range jump shot, but look for him to take the ball to the basket first… He’s a solid defensive player that plays out of control at times… He averaged 24.0 points per game. Schools watching him play last night were, Baylor, SMU, Kansas State, Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech, UL-Lafayette, and Tulane."

"Nathan Hawkins 6’5 2G/F 2013 (Dallas Mustang Elite) Rowlett HS, TX is a good ball handler when under control. This slasher can score in a hurry and many ways. He has a strong body that allows him to post up and power through smaller defenders. He rebounds well for his size."

http://xofan.com/basketball-2/mvc-basketball/ronbriscoe/day-1-recap-from-gaso/

Hawkins averaged 13 pts, 5 rebs, and 4 asts per game for a Rowlett HS team that went 22-9 this past season(Hawkins JR yr). Highlights from Hawkins SO yr at Rowlett linked below.
