I don't think this guy has been mentioned yet.  If he is, sorry for the repost.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/highschool/basketball/recruiting/player-Alvin-Ellis-119396

Yeah, after Parker,  Ellis was about the 1st guy Weber offered on the job at KSU. He's playing on an absolutely loaded Meanstreets AAU team that is having a very good run in the EYBL, so while he's not putting up huge #'s there, he's part of a very successful team. I know that when he has been matched up against Parker, he has been noted for his ability to at least slow Parker down with his defense.

I've never seen Ellis listed at 6'7" as he was in the latest update. At this point in my mind, it's kind of a tossup as to whether I would take Ellis or Etherington. They both sound like solid, blue collar high major wings. Ellis sounds like he may be a better athlete but Etherington sounds like he may be a better shooter. Will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Scout updated their Top 100 for '13 today.

30. Ojeleye
33. Wainright    Realistically not much of a shot here.*
40. Rathan-Mayes   :blank:
93. Davis        welp

http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=9&c=4&cfg=bb&pid=88&yr=2013

* MAYBE a glimmer of hope with Frazier on board, but still an uphill battle to begin with made even tougher with Wainright's relocation.

Still have my hopes up for Jabari Parker just because I can. I know he won't come here, but I like to believe.  :crossfingers:

KC Classic gets rolling tomorrow night, will be all weekend, looks like majority of 17U and 16U games will be at Lee's Summit North, Grandview, and Center HS's. Some of the top teams will be Mokan Elite, Team Texas, and the Colorado Chaos.

http://kcclassic.net/

Mokan's  17U roster.

http://mokanbasketball.com/team-roster/

Mokan's stats thru 1st couple weekends of the EYBL. They've actually played 3 weekends of it but they haven't updated the stats from the last weekend yet. FWIW, Mokan is currently 6-8 in EYBL play, putting them at 5th place in their pool.

Virginia Tech has offered 2013 Florida guard Sam Singer, who has visited Indiana and has a growing offer list.

According to the site linked below, KSU offered Brown last week. KSU is his only reported offer among his top 4.

http://ehoopsohio.blogspot.com/2012/05/bgs-brown-adds-big-time-offer.html

Plays AAU ball for Spiece Indy Heat, same club as '14 KSU offerees Jaquan Lyle and Trevon Blueitt(Lyle and Bluiett are both playing up a year on 17U team). FWIW, SIH is 8-6 in the EYBL, good for 4th in their pool, MOKAN is in same pool and they are 6-8. SIH stats linked below.

Scouting report stuff on Brown linked below(video included in 2nd link):

"Vitto Brown - It's tough to even begin to argue that anyone in the state of Ohio is as good of an interior defender in 2013 then the 6-foot-8 Bowling Green prospect. Brown, who plays with both Spiece and the Ohio Phenoms, is a great shotblocker and shot alterer, who rebounds at a high rate and is getting better on the offensive end. Offensively, he is skilled at shooting the jumper out to 17 feet, he can put it on the deck and shake slower defenders, and he has good vision. His feel for the game is improving and most importantly he has elite athleticism as a leaper and someone with quick feet. As he improves his strength more and more schools will keep calling, but he has a head start on the game as he currently lists his top four as Kansas State, Illinois, Butler, and Minnesota."

 http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1367512

"Evaluation: The top defensive big in the ’13 class in Ohio, no one alters or blocks more shots then Vitto. A strong build with long arms that can get off the floor high and quick his impact on the defensive end is huge because he can guard any post player one on one without any help. Emerging offensive threat with a decent stroke out to 15 feet and the ability to put the ball one the floor once or twice. Solid rebounder and finisher who uses his strong base to play with power.

Bottom Line: Looks to be right in the middle of the mid-major plus category. Has plenty of MAC and Atlantic 10 interest, with several offers at the moment. Defensive specialist that plays hard, passionately, and with a high IQ who has the capabilities to become an offensive threat."

For a not highly touted recruit that is the kind of eval I want to read. Doesn't sound like he has a limited skill set or athleticism, just need to grow as a player, this is the type of recruit we need to finsh are class of with.  Also sounds like were are trying to build a strong relationship with Spiece.

From the info we have available, he sounds and looks a lot like D. Johnson but with the possibility of developing into an offensive threat. He's not lefty like DJamer, but defensive minded, fairly athletic and physical big. And it's not that DJamer has no hope of ever developing his offensive game, it's just that Brown's offensive skills appear to be much further along at this time. Will be interesting to see if the BIG schools, Butler, and/or Xavier(who's also been mentioned in connection with him) will step forward with offers.

Add DUSTIN THOMAS to the list. Seems to be in the same scope as alot of Webers recruits.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/kansasstate/basketball/recruiting/player-Dustin-Thomas-140965

We really need to build a master list are number of targets is really staring to get out of hand.

Well, Fresno St. reportedly offered this kid, they've been doing pretty well on the recruiting trail. Eustachy offered him, I mean you can't scoff at a Eustachy offer can you?

http://rivals.yahoo.com/kansasstate/basketball/recruiting/player-Ray-Barreno-121968

From TX GASO 4/30:
"Ray Barreno
2013 Center
6-foot-10
El Paso Faith Christian/Latinos Select
Few players throughout the tournament attracted the crowd of Division I coaches as Barreno did for each game. Barreno is a big-bodied post man who has nice touch within 10 feet. He could be a major asset for a program looking for a player to be that anchor in the paint."

The good news is that we haven't actually offered any of these marginal prospects* (yet)(aside from maybe Etherington) and there's no way we're going to have room to take all of them. I can't lie, there are a lot of "mid-majorish (plus hopefully)" mentions here, all we can do is hope for the best with our apparent top targets such as Ojeleye, Harris, Foster, and maybe Ward.

*Bossi confirmed today that KSU has NOT offered V. Brown

Nas song on his highlight vid, so that's always a bonus in my book.  #itainthardtotell

do you remember the ain't hard to tell large professor remix?  my favorite nas song of all time.  ALL TIME.
i have the instrumental but can't find the one with lyrics.
it was the b-side of the original ain't hard to tell 12 inch which i lost a few years ago.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I might remember it if I heard it, but I know it's been awhile if I have. About the only remix I'd have for "It ain't hard to tell" would be on the Illmatic retrospective that was released in 04, probably not the same as the 1 you're talking about. "On the real" from that release = money.
