No KSU mention in Ojeleye update. This is not good.

“Wisconsin is always around,” said Ojeleye. “Butler, Oklahoma State, Stanford, and Harvard are all coming in. Those are a couple schools that stay in touch. A lot of people come and go, but they have their season to focus on. Honestly I don’t worry about it too much.”

I'll try to check with Snow on the Scout Board to see what's up with that.

not surprising.  clams was never high on SO and i think my distaste for players of his caliber is hopefully shared among our staff.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Snow seems to think KSU might have backed off him a bit, or we're just not recruiting him with the same intensity as the schools listed.

You might be on to something 'clams   :eye:

This is the perfect time of the year for EJ to get his minutes.  Frank does his whole "BIOQ!" routine for a few games, the team starts playing harder/better, and we look like a much improved team when it really starts mattering.  Wash, rinse, show a couple dudes the door, repeat.

ReggieRankin Reggie Rankin
Marquette Boss Buzz Williams also in the house at Simeon along with Kansas State!

Tweet doesn't specify which recruit(s) our staff was there to scout, could be any of several there.

SF Jabari Parker, SG Kendrick Nunn, and PG Jaylon Tate are the 3 most prominent available prospects on that team - all in the Class of '13. Have never seen KSU mentioned in connection with any them, but what the hell, good to hear we're out there. Nunn and Tate are Meanstreets, Parker - Mac Irvin Fire.

Simeon is J. Jones' alma mater.

According to his AAU coach, Diana Neal of Florida Assault, six schools have officially offered. “Miami, Central Florida, Seton Hall, Murray State, North Florida and Jacksonville have offered,” she said. “The schools expressing high interest are Virginia Tech, Alabama, UCLA, Maryland and Kansas State, with Tennessee, Marquette, Florida State, Georgia, Virginia and Memphis expressing interest.”

Times listed below are Eastern

"JayJayESPN Jason Jordan
7, ESPNU: #42 Prestonwood vs #15 Grace Prep; 8, ESPN: #3 Oak Hill vs. #2 Miller Grove; 9:30, ESPN: #4 Montrose Christian vs. #11 Marcus"

Some good HS hoops on the ESPN family of networks tonight. KSU targets participating(at least they were thought to be at 1 time) 6'4" SG Pat Birt from Arlington Grace Prep* and 6'5" wing Ish Wainwright currently playing for Montrose but originally from KCMO, both in class of '13. Will be interesting to see how Wainwright matches up with Smart.

*Grace Prep is so loaded I'm not sure Birt gets much PT.

Frank Martin wants 2013 prospect Tyler Roberson. So much, in fact, that he's offered his HS teammate, Hakim Saintil. kansasstate.rivals.com/content.asp?CI…

More Sunshine State news

Orlando Dr. Phillips High School has a reputation for producing outstanding scoring guards. The next explosive scorer in line is 2013 5-foot-11 point guard Rashawn Powell.

And not just a scorer at 26 points per game, Powell is also dishing out six assists per game.

Coaches are taking notice of Powell's abilities. Most recently to watch him play was Maryland assistant coach Scott Spinelli.

According to his travel team coach Diana Neal of Florida Assault, Powell has offers from Central Florida, Seton Hall, Miami, Murray State, Jacksonville and North Florida while strong interest is coming from Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Alabama, Marquette, Virginia, Kansas State, Memphis, Georgia Tech and UCLA.

From City of Palms

BFlinnBballBrian Flinn
Washington. Miami. FGCU. Santa Clara and Kansas State all here to watch Salesian (CA) vs Trinity (KY).
19 Dec

Most prominent available prospects in that game were SG Jabari Bird and PG Mario Dunn from Salesian and combo G Darryl Hicks from Trinity. All are '13 prospects. Bird has had a couple recent updates and none have mentioned KSU as a school of interest. Haven't seen KSU mentioned in connection with Dunn or Hicks either but just for craps and giggles, their profiles are linked below.

Roberson writing a blog, no major revelations in this one, KSU strongly in the mention list though.

Sounds like we've offered Pryor, and it sounds like he held his own against the more highly touted Okafor, who we've also offered.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Marquis-Pryor-131628

Quote
From a college standpoint, 6-foot-7 junior Marquise Pryor is the team's top player.

Pryor showed off a great motor and high-major athleticism in outplaying Young's Jahlil Okafor, a member of USA Basketball's U16 National Team, in the first half Wednesday. That explains the long list of Division I schools recruiting Pryor.

The best part about Pryor could be his attitude. The box score showed just six points against Young, but Pryor understood his impact went far beyond that.

"I just work hard, play my best and do whatever it takes to win," said Pryor, who reports offers from Kansas State, Oakland, Colorado State, Loyola, DePaul and Illinois. "If I have to get 20 rebounds or 30 rebounds and two points, I'll do that if that's what it takes to win."

• The Hoops Report has said it before and will say it again, Orr has some of the most overlooked, least talked about players and prospects in the city and suburbs. Give me 6-6 junior Marquis Pryor, junior point guard Jamal McDowell and 6-5 sophomore Tyquane Greer any day. Pryor is among the top dozen prospects in the Class of 2013. Greer, who received his first offer last week from Providence, will see his stock explode soon. And McDowell is the type of point guard you win games with as he's tough, under control and a winner.
