Would like to see lamont collect his first scalp from this class. Thorpe would be a great one to do that on.

The way our roster is setup at this moment, it appears we are going to have 5 scollys available in the Class of '13, as opposed to the 1 that is apparently available in '12. I think we all know those available scollys are subject to and probably will change but I think that difference right there accounts for the increase in mentions in this class.

With the 5 known outstanding offers in this class (Freeman, Simmons, Roberson, Ojeleye, and Thorpe), Thorpe is really the only that I can say for sure that Evans is the "lead" for. Could also be for Roberson, but past updates seemed to indicate Figger was.

Penn State offered Geno Thorpe, a 2013 PG from Shaler (PA), after head coach Pat Chambers watched him workout today.
Why in the world would he go to Penn State to play basketball?

Easy. If you can't play for Doc, you want to play against him.

Roberson:

Quote
Roberson, a 6-foot-7 junior forward from Roselle Catholic (N.J.), holds offers from Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Kansas State, Saint Joseph’s and Virginia Tech. Connecticut and others have also been through to watch him work out over the past couple of weeks. He has not taken any unofficial visits and does not plan to anytime soon. Roberson is willing to take his time with the recruiting process, but he knows what he is looking for in a school.

“A school with good academics,” Roberson said. “And one that fits my style of play.”

Powell has good showing at NTF's "The Workout" but apparently KSU's interest in him isn't that great at this time:

"So far this fall Powell has had schools such as Virginia Tech, Miami and Wyoming drop in to watch him work out. According to Powell the Hurricanes have offered along with UCF and Seton Hall. Others involved include Tennessee, Clemson, Memphis and Murray State."

From Fall Jam Fest in NJ this past weekend:

"Tyler Roberson | 6’7? F | Class of 2013

ESPN ranks Roberson as a Top 30 player in the country and it is clear why.

He is of the build that has become coveted in high-major small forwards in recent years: long and athletic, runs the floor well, and can handle the basketball.

In his match-up with Noah Vonleh on Day 2, Roberson showed that he excels when playing against equal competition. Vonleh (below) is considered a Top 10 player in 2014 and Roberson led the Roadrunners to a big win and an eventual championship.

He showed his ability to step out and shoot off the dribble, as well as lock down Vonleh on defense. With as diverse a skill set as Vonleh has, Roberson’s defensive performance was especially impressive."

NYPost_Brazille Zach Braziller
UCLA, UConn, Kentucky and Kansas State have called @CoachNaclerio about junior forward Jermaine Lawrence, who has a host of Big East offers.

Other '13 stuff:

- In his recent update with Cassidy, Thorpe named a top 3 of Wiscy, Pitt, and KSU.

- Louisville recently offered Wainwright, adding to previous offers for him from UCLA, Syracuse, St. John's, Missouri, Colorado, Baylor, and Texas A&M.

Nunn decommits from A&M.

Was thought to be seriously considering Illinois and Memphis before committing to A&M last month, which surprised basically everybody. No history of KSU interest, big-time player though, could probably play anywhere.

He didn't say that in his "exit interview" but that could very well be, the timing of the Aggies official defection and his decommitment sorta lines up with that. Word is he visited College Station again last weekend and must have decided it just wasn't for him.
