Kansas State Football / Re: Are these rumors true?

Just spend some time looking up p5 offensive coordinators and compare resumes to Klein.

I didn't say he'd be my choice, or even in my top 15-20 for that matter, just that I could see it as potentially working.
I could also see it blowing up horrifically.

The idea that Sean, or anyone currently on staff could come in and be an effective coordinator next year is consistently the dumbest crap that I've read on message boards.

I could see Klein as OC working out.  There'd be more than a few rough edges and hard learning experiences but I could see it.

What booster let Currie take his plane all over?

Moreover, per sources, UT has initiated the process to dispatch Currie with cause on the heels of insubordination claims. Among the most egregious of the claims, per multiple sources including some in the legal community and on the Tennessee campus, when urged to return home last week as the search dissolved into a national punchline, Currie instead opted to utilize the private aircraft of a Kansas State booster to continue trying to find Butch Jones’ replacement.

“That’s why no one knew where he was after he left (being turned down by N.C. State head coach Dave Doeren,” a source explained.

This smells like bull crap.  Or, at the very least if true not in the way presented.  I like the theory that I read either here or botc that suggested Currie and/or Schulz had seen the (short term) future and that Currie was meeting with Leach at Schulz behest to get a jump on getting fired to see if the two could get along amicably.  In 'that' scenario I could see a Schulz-friendly KSU booster allowing use of their private jet - but not in any other.  (also note I didn't say I'd support that usage, just that I could see it)

Quote
"In the spirit of innovation, our vision for this program is to have a head coach who serves as a CEO and is the central leader with a collaborative staff around him that will elevate the performance of players and coaches on the field, in the classroom and in our community. Equally important, the head coach will be a dynamic and tireless recruiter."

I dunno, I kinda like this once you get past the buzzwordsmithing,

So I guess they want ... a head coach?  Because once you chisel off all the glamour-shots make up and hair extensions that's pretty much the only thing they said.

Georgia winning is the path that makes the most difficult sell for the committee to justify putting alabama in. Combined with an OSU loss imo that creates the most amusing situation in how the committee handles the playoff selection.

Damn the ink didnt even dry on Currie’s termination papers before Fullmers wikipedia was updated lol. Wonder what Curries says about him

Best guess is he snuck into a construction site, donned a helmet, and is dreaming of simpler times.

yeah, he should have thrown it away on the last play against Iowa State, what was he thinking

He absolutely should have thrown that away. That was designed to be a fade that would have given us one or two more plays. He made a hell of a play but it wasn't the right play.

Absolutely should have thrown it away - I was losing my mind to the point that the kids and dogs were hiding under sturdy furniture.

That said, the kid has the inner spark of an aggressive winner. Love it. Just might need to think about heart medication come August...

Has ISU gotten their apology letter from the NCAA yet? They covet those things like trophies. Would be a nice silver lining for them and I hope they get one.

They should banner those on the wall like A&M does National Championships.

ISU indisputably owns their 'wall paper' material though.

Does someone here own firecurrie.com or some comparison of it? Now is the time to sell it!

Checked firecurrie.com and firejohncurrie.com - neither is available

but fire-john-currie.com is...  surprised the owner hasn't utilized either yet.  Or did JC buy it himself...

Unfortunate but I can see why he'd make that choice.  Would be great to see him play elsewhere on the field - but not at the risk of long term health.

Startin to feel little like 2015 again.  Just hope we don't lose Skylar on the first snap of the season...

Who's still open? miss state, UT, Arkansas?

Nebraska, Rice, South Alabama are a few off my head.
And Arizona State and Oregon State and aTm

Crazy, aTm, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and ole Miss are all replacing coaches in the SEC West. And LSU did last year.

Having Bama, and every 3-4 years Auburn being amazeballs will do that to you.
When you have five coaching changes in a division in a single year, it's generally because those teams kinda suck.

Seems like those schools would be money better spent on hiring a few private investigators to dig up dirt on 'Bama and try to oust Saban.  Until he retires (or something is revealed to be less than savory) they're just going to be cycling through the next failure.

DJamer Reed would absolutely get drafted. Adams is good, not sure if he'd put up thr necessary metrics tho.

Do you think he would get drafted even if he wasn't able to participate in combines/workouts?

And drafted for what position?  His measurable kinda suck even at the college level.  Return specialist?

There's also that MRSA thing that happened under his watch.

I don't see how this would/should be a factor.  I can see why it could be a bad publicity moment for him during the Bucs stint but there's hardly anything he coudl have done to prevent (much less cause) it.

Fine with him staying if Dimel ‘decides’ there are better options for him elsewhere.

I dont watch enough of Bill’s post game speeches to the team to really judge, but in a vacuum I would say it seemed to have an air of finality to it, however thats probably my own confirmation bias. But I wouldnt be completely surprised if he does retire.

I listen to them all and that one didn't sound any different than the others

And thats why Im the village idiot and not the Mayor.

 Greg Schiano Seems an unusual choice for the guy that went dumpster diving for receipts to prove ‘suspected’ impropriety of a coach.

As for any SEC position right now, young up n comers are smart to avoid it like the plague.  Nubs has better expectations of their coaches - and dont have a perfectly legit absolutely dominant Alabama/Saban problem to overcome.
