Otz already figured out the stable roster
if i'm being completely honest...i think the reason iowa state is a particulary thorny hook in our collective craw is because i don't want to have to even consider the possibility that nationally, we are viewed similarly as iowa state. its easier to maintain that buffer when we beat them all or most of the time. because i know iowa state fans think they are America's Team. Plucky underdogs that everyone is pulling for. They think their fans are passionate and create home field advantage. It does not occur to them that loudly booing ev-er-y single play/call that doesn't go their way is completely small time and losery. Its not charming or endearing, its just annoying. They don't realize that nobody gaf about them. They don't realize that even when they've objectively had more sustained success in the last decade than their in state rivals iowa, iowa is still seen as the National Brand (even though neither of them have been particularly impressive or memorable over that time). the Average Sports Fan is going to know what a hawkeye is before they know what a cyclone is.
So when kids from kansas not only choose to go to iowa state over us, and then when then are very impactful in the games against us, it makes me think huh, maybe we are seen as on par with them. Watching the game saturday, i was getting so annoyed that helfrich (or the other guy not sure which) kept referring to them as our rival. Like kept saying it. Of course all conference opponents are going to be a "rival" in that you play each other regularly. But he kept saying it and i was like sir, we do not agree to them being our rival. they are turds who are - at best - a mild annoyance, and that is being extremely charitable.
but, when we start losing to them more often than not...it makes me scared to look in the mirror. I'm worried that when i see my reflection i might see a very ugly, balding man with a serious case of eczema, wearing a hideous bright red tee shirt tucked in to khaki cargo shorts carrying around some kind of chili and frito corn chip type food stuffs.

It's going to 64 team super league anyway
No it won't. Even with Oregon State and Washington State essentially being demoted, that number of schools in power football has contributed to expand. 64 teams would represent a pretty healthy demotion and there's no reason to think that's going to happen. If there is a super league it's more likely than the number would be significantly less or significantly more than 64.
Jamie Pollard said on 1460 KXNO yesterday that Iowa State is one of a handful being considered for the Ireland game, and that it'd be considered a "road game" on Aug 23, 2025. Didn't mention K-State but kind of implied it.
They need to audition to play us like all the others have. Get in line clones
Portland, Maine is a bucket list place for me. Keep notes of the cool places so I can get it from you when I go!
portland kicks tons of ass. I stayed at The Press hotel which is a marriott property and was cool AF. eat at Central Provisions.
Road game destinations have improved immensely through all this
Legend. As much as I wouldn't wish "being forced to describe every snap of nubb football" on my worst enemy, I do hope GS calls every snap of nubb football this year and for several more years.
