Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: NIT

Can't wait to hear Gary Dolphin call this one.

The most logical geographic situation in 2021 would have been splitting the Big 12 in two and splitting them between P12 and ACC, but their conference presidents were too arrogant. Now we get to have a centrally-focused league which benefits schools like ISU and KSU a ton more. Thanks ACC/PAC!

Recruiting rankings imply games like last night may be the norm for a while.

I wonder how many people would think this thread was serious if I tweeted it out.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who isn't Brad is just oscar Part 2.

What if its Will Wade, to spite oscar?

6
Next?

He's actually a decent coach but wouldn't exactly move the needle.

I'm probably going to be there. Would love to snag a drink with a few of you.

This really might wind up as two college football leagues won't it... the Disney League and the Fox league.

I've been told that Iowa State received correspondence from ESPN re: the AAC.

This is the best scenario I have seen

That move would put the SEC at 16 with Texas and Oklahoma

That means the Big Ten needs two, and then the ACC/B12/P12 have some shuffling depending upon who.

Initial thought:

Big Ten adds Kansas and Virginia
ACC adds Notre Dame, West Virginia, and one more. (That'd be the hope for ISU to still land P4)
Pac 12 adds four Big 12 schools (Tech, Bay, OSU, KSU probably -- maybe ISU over BU but probably not)

But I don't think the Pac 12 is going to allow that to happen without at least a pitch to Tex/Okla because they'd rather have Texas, Tech, Okla, OSU than the four I mentioned above.

The Big 12 will likely make a counter to Tex/Okla to raid at least the Arizona schools, Colorado and Utah, and maybe more from the P12. A P12/B12 lovechild could develop out of that too.

I'm honestly not sure how or to what extent to post this, or how to not be overly self-serving with it, but I've learned over the years that gratitude goes a long ways and you just gotta roll with it. I came out of the closet three years ago to ten of my closest friends; four of them were EMAW. As things progressed and I told more people, a disproportionate number of people in my corner (in a good direction) were not only K-Staters, but folks I met through this site. Although he wasn't among the very first, Metalhead was one of them, and I'm thinking of him a lot lately. No one wanted me to be more innately myself more than him. (He wants all of us to be our true selves too)

Please keep the love flowing, and please keep doing whatever you've done in the past for me moving forward to future Cats or Clones or whoever you cross paths. We're (unfortunately) still not out of the woods on LGBT issues in this region, but so much progress has been made, and for that I'm grateful. I'd have never imagined sending this post 11 years ago as I started BBS'ing with all of you. I really am grateful for the very unique relationship I've created with so many of you at K-State.

If any young posters in a similar spot I was in years ago ever need someone to reach out to, please do not be afraid to reach out to me. Lets keep the love, acceptance (and high level sports trash talk) going.

Whats the buy-in?

I've assumed this was happening for a while. He was going to be the guy in 2015 until President Leath stiff-armed Pollard.

oscar whipping his ass twice got him fired

I'm forever indebted to you.

Seems a little bit like a hostage video, but man am I relieved this move has been made.

"The OMG cancel the tournament" takes are something.

Kansas State Football / Re: KU football is going through a rough patch

KU needs to commit to something longer than a few years. Between inconsistent juco recruiting and not sticking to a coach long enough to actually develop 4-year players, this is only going to continue. They should be striving for a SLTH right now.

Because Dixon's at a school that's historically atrocious at basketball, because he has a better win percentage at TCU than oscar does at K-State, because he's the sole owner of the only TCU NCAA bid in the last 20+ years, because he owns 4 of the 7 non-losing seasons at TCU in the last 20+ years (in his 5 years as coach), because he owns one of two non-losing conference records in the last 20 years (and the only one since they joined the Big 12), because his not-so-great .391 Big 12 win percentage is still nearly 30(!) percentage points better than his predecessor, because he's the best TCU coach - by far - since Billy Tubbs left in 2002, because he's a TCU alum...

Maybe one or more of those reasons.

Man, strive for more, they are shitty and they've had decent talent which makes me think he's a shitty coach. Those winning seasons are a mirage. He's the master of the Jim Wooldridge, schedule the most awful non con ever, go into conference play at 11-2, then turn around and win 5 conference games. At least with Weber and Prohm you're going to get the occasional year that's truly a good, fun season. Jamie's good season is finishing 7th in the conference and take advantage of being in the #1 conference by metrics to get an 11 seed in the tournament and lose quietly during that 5:00PM Friday NCAA tournament game in Boise or Spokane that no one watches.

They'll eventually get sick of him and 'strive for more' but I bet they'll be okay with him for a while longer. Basketball doesn't seem high on the list of "urgent things" at TCU. TBH nothing seems very urgent there, given the 20k football crowds during non-pandemic years and Gary Patterson's continual decline.

24
Has oscar said anything about his former player Meyers Leonard?

25
Fred's buyout at Nebraska is like $10m

Also hates Jamie Pollards guts

I think we have a winner.
