Kansas State Football / Re: would adding more goals to the 16 goals = more wins for the cats?

I'm not gonna lie....this thread is a perfect example of why I take the time to come on here.

So she us not biased even though she is a Stanford grad? Oh ok.
You know how we always bitch about getting no respect? Well, the irony is that we sometimes get more respect than we deserve, and as a result, we get matched up with much more talented opponents in bowl games. And, our biggest advantage - Snyder's ability to better prepare for new opponents during the week-by-week grind of the regular season - is negated by giving the opposing coach a month to prepare for us. As a result, we lose.
Bottom line is that we have a brilliant coach who has achieved a remarkable level of success despite shitty recruiting, but we just don't have the speed or talent to win games like this in the post season where our biggest advantage has been blunted. The best we can do is enjoy the wins, feel lucky to be as successful as we are, but accept that the KITN is coming. That's K-State football.
After they watched The Mean Shade of Sea Foam Green dominate the line of scrimmage for 3+ quarters...I figure their linemen will have all-you-can-eat pancake eating contests in preparation of this game...then...next Saturday, it will become obvious to everyone that The Scheme Doctor was scheming for us to get dominated...but they'll be too full of pancakes to do anything about it.
Boom, Schemed!
I hate to be total tardy on this, but it reminds me a little of 1994 when we were coming off a 9 win season and bowl win and most were picking us 6th or 7th in an 8 team league. KSU really does get little respect. Anyone who follows OB knows when he has a veteran team and a good QB, the team generally is at least as good as the year before. 10 wins at least this seasonHas Snyder ever gone backwards in a QB's second year of starting?
Gundy recruits incredibly well because he recruits the best players in America to run his system. You cannot argue with his results.
you could say the same thing about Snyder but nobody ever does. Gundy is a good coch he's done a good job he's not going to have OSU in the top 10 every year though. The talent on the team this year doesn't square with the expectations.
Snyder used to be an incredible recruiter, but he no longer is able to get the kind of recruits he used to.
That happens when you're approaching 75 and the recruits seriously doubt you're going to be around much longer.
QuoteOSU and OU are to of the 5 best teams in the country imo. We definitely aren't and it's on the road.
We have improved, as made clear by our very good record, but OSU is that good. They completely shut down Baylor, for crying out loud. If we get tossed by A&M, or UT, then it's worth getting upset about.
Are we truly a top 15 team? If we are, i think we should be competitive saturday. I'm not saying i will "start a FFF storm" (SAFFFS) if we get blown out, but i will temper my appreciation for this years team. An enjoyable team is one that can go on the road vs a great team, and give them a tough game.
Look, I love Kansas... but it's not a very highly populated state. It's just not. Don't get all butthurt about it.
I don't love Kansas. It's the 33rd most populated state out of 50. Middle of the pack. I notice the same exaggeration tendencies when Frank does them too.
The argument that we can expand is that we sell out against crap teams, when tickets are like $10. If we can expand, we absolutely should. I just don't think we can,
if we expanded, then charged like $25-$30 a ticket for confy games, we could probably sell out a 55-57K stadium. i don't know if 60k is feasible right now, even with cheap tickets. But, if the admin thinks that it will be likely in the future, i think we should go for it now.
First game of the season here folks. OL will gel as the season progresses. I (hope and pray) expect them to improve quite a bit before the next game. Hate bye weeks but we sure as hell could use this one.
Was in a bar in Glascow, MT. I asked this guy to turn it to ESPN (I think?) for the K-State game. He said something like "the Jayhawks are playing tonight?" Man oh man. This was right after we destroyed Montana Community College for Hayseeds, too.
When has Snyder ever had a top rated or even middle of the pack recruiting class? We have 10 Jucos for goodness sake, which do not even enter into the rankings. Look at what Snyder did after Stoops did his best to sabotage us in 1998. We are going to have a good team this year(predicting 8-4) and a stellar year in 2012. Unfortunately, there are some reprobates on here when it comes to K-State football. Look at 2009 and the pile of dung Snyder inherited. If Grant Gregory didn't have two bad shoulders(which we didn't know about at the time) we probably would have easily won 2 more games and gone 8-4 and a bowl game. Anyway, my glass is always half full and some you have 90% empty. Enjoy your pessimism and throwing what you think are cute epithats and I will the enjoy the successful season as it unfolds.First of all, jucos DO count in recruiting rankings, and have done so for ten years. When Snyder was on a roll in the nineties, they didn't....and that's when his classes WERE very undervalued, because that's also when he was really cleaning up with the stud jucos....now Alabama and a lot of big time programs are cherry picking that talent pool, which is probably why he has had a much higher miss rate with his juco recruits.
Why so much anomousity towards Coach Snyder? Many on here can't rid of him fast enough. All he has done is perform at K-State, been loyal and got a very good 2011 recruiting class. Don't you think he knows when it is time to retire?Do you follow recruiting other than on powerespect sites? That 2011 class was ranked dead last in the conference by both Rivals and Scout.
If Bill wins 10 games this year, I'll love the crap out of him once again. Hell, I'd even take 9.
If we don't have the worst BCS DC we win 9 last year, and he brought back the same DC again.
I think Miami is anything but a "won't win" game. Have you even watched Miami over the last 10 yrs or so? Same story every year- tons of talent but they continue to be mediocre in a crapty, crapty conference.
