Unless there's something they haven't talked about yet in the show, there's not a reason for Baelish to kill off Robin Arryn.

Baelish is now the Lord Protector of the Vale until Robin comes of age, so he's in control for the forseeable future.

The assumption is that the north will rally around the Starks when the time comes, so as long as he holds on to Sansa, he'd have control over Winterfell as well.

He has control of 2/7 kingdoms now (Harrenhall, the Eyrie), with eventual plans on the third (Winterfell).  He's got to be playing the long game, but I can't see what he would go for after Winterfell, maybe Riverrun?

Harrenhal is not one of the seven kingdoms. The kingdoms, and their seats, are as follows: The North, Winterfell; The Iron Islands, Pyke; The Riverlands (Harrenhal is located here), Riverrun; The Vale, the Eyrie; The Westerlands, Casterly Rock; The Reach, Highgarden; The Stormlands, Storm's End.

Dorne was added as the eight kingdom sometime later. The region where King's Landing is locatede is referred to as the Crownlands.

Actually, Dorne is one of the seven kingdoms. The Iron Islands combined with the Riverlands as "The Kingdom of the Isles and Rivers" when the Iron Borne conquered the Riverlands before the Targaryens showed up and took over. So the Seven Kingdoms weren't the Seven Kingdoms until Dorne was brought into the realm with the marriage between the Martells and Targaryens brought it in diplomatically.

Dorne maybe included as one of the seven kingdoms, but the Targaryen conquest split The Kingdom of the Isles and Rivers into two distinct kingdoms. Dorne was added as the eighth two centuries later.

When Aegon used dragons to conquer the seven individually ruled kingdoms that existed on the mainland and forged a huge, strong empire. The Kingdoms were: The Kingdom of the North, the Kingdom of Mountain and Vale, the Kingdom of the Isles and Rivers, Kingdom of the Rock, Kingdom of the Reach, Kingdom of the Stormlands and Dorne.
Aegon managed to conquer only six of the seven kingdoms, consolidating them under the rule of House Targaryen and the Iron Throne. Dorne was joined to the realm only two centuries later through diplomatic means, after a few hurdles on the way, thus making the name somewhat inaccurate.

There are 9 "administrative regions" of which the Iron Islands are one ... They are not alone one of the "seven kingdoms".

Anyone else watch Banshee on Showtime or Black Sails on Starz?

Both shows just ended their seasons and I have thoroughly enjoyed them both.

Am I the only person watching either of these shows?

I watched the first two episodes of Black Sails at a friend's house during a snow day back in Feb. It was ok, but not captivating enough for me to get into it.

I agree the show started out pretty slow, it's a pretty fantastic looking show though and has picked up the pace a bit.

5
I watched the first season of Banshee. It's not bad. I'll probably watch the second season to see where it goes.

The second season finale was pretty crazy this last weekend.

6
I was also surprised that Starz was trying to break into the original programming business

just finished the three novellas that currently make up "the tales of dunk and egg". has anybody else read them yet? if you haven't, i highly recommend them. they're quick, enjoyable reads that cover a lot of the events surrounding the blackfyre rebellion (pre-ASOIAF).

Where did you get those from? I wouldn't mind giving them a read while I'm waiting somewhat patiently for book 6 to get done.

He does lead with the crown of his helmet a bit... I could see the league taking an extra look at it.

Yeah, I keep getting confused between Frog (Quentyn Martell?) who somehow had "dragon blood" and Griff (Aegon?) who is Dany's nephew.

Aegon is *supposedly* Dany's nephew..
She receives a warning from Quaithe (the chick with her face hidden by a mask all the time)

"The glass candles are burning. Soon comes the pale mare, and after her the others. Kraken and dark flame, lion and griffin, the sun's son and the mummer's dragon. Trust none of them. Remember the Undying. Beware the perfumed seneschal."

The glass candles are burning at the Citadel in Oldtown.. The pale mare was the bloody flux running rampant through slavers bay.. Kraken (Victarion Greyjoyh) and dark flame (Moqorro the red priest that Victarion saved from the shipwreck that Jorah and Tyrion were both in as well), Lion and Griffin (Tyrion and John Connington), Sun's Son (Quentyn) and Mummer's Dragon (Aegon).

So, if Jon is Lyanna and Rhaegar's son, will his warg powers come in to play with the dragons?

Can you image Jon with control over Rhaegal  :excited:

OK, yeah that would be awesome. I want Dany to end up with 2 men - Jon & her nephew or whatever that everyone thought was dead. (1 person for each dragon like that one Aegon? had 2 wives/sisters.) Yeah it's incesty but not as incesty as past Targaryens.

So, I just finished book 5 a few weeks ago and just found this thread again.. but I've been led to believe that Danny's "nephew or whatever" that Tyrion was going down the river with for a little while might be the "false dragon" that Danny was warned about in her prophecy...

I think it depends on what division you are in... way down here in division G we are more focused on just getting people to the events to get participation points.
As a former dodgeball gold medalist I was however disappointed in my teams 5th place finish this year.. (well tied for 5th with 3 other teams)

Favorite supporting character is Gene Parmesan.

Parmesan sucks compared to George's one-armed buddy.

new season needed some more lessons learned from J Walter Weatherman

Had some BK breakfast this morning.

WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.

really? what did you get? i have never felt that was a good fast food breakfast decision.

croissant sandwich combo i think. Their "tots" or "oles" or whatever were amazing.

Plus the old ladies running the aggieville BK were super nice to me

I've had that before wasn't a fan. Hmm maybe I'll give it another go.

BK's mini blueberry biscuits are quite tasty too.

The last used car I bought, they used the KBB value at the registration office not what I had written as the sale price on the title. That was probably 7 years ago or so

Oasis is by far my least favorite of all Tallgrass beers.

I would replace the Oasis in this photo with their new Ethos IPA and be completely happy with any of the choices.

Oasis is the only Tallgrass I like. Drinking one now.
