Yeah, I agree, 'blast. However, the '98 cats kinda make me feel like it could be a thing. That was a great win for OU tho.

i mean i guess, being demoted to the Sugar Bowl is not the same as being demoted to the Alamo Bowl

While I wholeheartedly agree with you here, the point is that when the dream/goal all season was the BCS championship, a certain level of disappointment in NOT playing for the crystal football is to be expected.  Thus, the level of focus/motivation across the entirety of the team decreases.

I remain firmly of the belief that had the OU vs Bama game been the BCS title game that Bama likely covers the 14 pt spread.  As it was, playing OU +14 was a no-brainer... Just like it was a no brainer to play Utah plus 14 vs Bama in the '09 Sugar that the Utes won 31-17.  I think we all saw what Bama did to a Notre Dame team that won in Norman when it was for a crystal football.

 

It was a no-brainer to pick Utah?  The year before Alabama went 7-5 and lost to UL-MONROE!  They hadn't even played in an NC yet for over 20 years.

Jesus Christ.  Whoops I mean, LHC Bill Snyder.

Anyway, tell me about the Cats. How the fvck are we gonna beat Auburn?  I have nightmares about Gus Malzahn's offense.

This is a false statement.  Motivation is situational, therefore it's reasonable to actually be able to forecast "motivation" in many situations.

As proof, you'll hear coaches allude to it in press conferences fairly often.

You guys sound seriously jealous that OU beat a 100%-effort Bama team. We made AJ McCarron cry and Nick Saban throw his headset.  Also, the announcers after the first Alabama drive/TD were all "Oh if you had any questions about motivation there's your answer folks."  Announcers usually have their finger on the pulse of things like this yknow.

Nice win against Michigan.  Cats dominated the Blue.

A year after all the conference turmoil, just a few years since K-State looked headed for former irrelevancy, and a year after another Big 12 team shat the bed when all eyes were on them...  KSU is doing the rest of the Big 12 proud.  They arent flashy, but they dont have to be when theyre this consistent.

This is the home stretch guys, everyone who's a fan of the game of cfb is rooting for the Wildcats.  The eyes of Texas are upon you, waiting to be blackened.  And Oregon and blueblood Notre Dame loom.  Go get em!  EMAW...

Kansas State Football / What would be best for KSU's NC chances?

Do you guys think it would be better for Tech or Texas to win this week?  I think Tech has a chance of winning out and finishing with 2 losses this year while Texas obviously has their annual KSU loss looming.  So Tech could potentially be a top 10 team near the end of the season with losses only to top 10 KSU and OU (presumably).  Or they could be a top 15 team and have three losses while Texas is the same.  So three top 15 wins for KSU or two top 10 wins?  Anyone been working this out?  Obviously a lot has to fall the Wildcats' way this season, particularly USC doing what Oklahoma couldn't.  Not sure if I see the Irish losing in which case everyone jumping to conclusions about them jumping KSU might not have anything to fear either - KSU is playing better opponents than ND and their one constant win (Oklahoma) is only top 12-15 material.
