How many fans are we supposed to have there?

Found this for anyone going.  gamedayguides.com/aviva-stadium-dublin-guide
i’m guessing around 1,500

Real talk, it talks about how the revenue sharing with athletes as a big driver. How does that affect us? Also glad we got basically all our upgrades done all through the fundraising and like no debt
has iowa state made any renovations? i know they built a bridge?

their football stadium is embarrassing, even for a fan base that inconceivably doesn’t get embarrassed despite having every reason in the world to be embarrassed.

how are they so poor? dax or mir - any insight?

i flew on the southwest metal with the new configuration between mco and mci. it’s pretty good! i was comfortable enough. rows 1-6 have additional leg room and better seat pitch I think. i sat in row 8 and was fine. seat backs have usb a and c charging built in and a handy hook to hang your tablet cover on. i’m curious to see what the cost difference is for the preferred seating.

Essentially Flyertalk / Re: How Many Credit Cards Do You Have?
« on: July 24, 2025, 10:18:19 AM »
Mrs SF just got a 100k SW personal card offer with 5 months to spend the 4k. She also has until september to open the card so that should push well in to 2026 to have the 100k hit. Seems like a no brainer right? It's her turn in the SW companion pass churn, so it seems like I can sign up for this and then get a business card whenever to clear the companion pass threshold in early 2026 right? The offer lists the new benefits related to SW changing their seating and bag policy, but i'm not seeing any specific changes to the companion pass program. I think SD mentioned that he heard they may be changing it so I'm just checking as this seems like a great deal.
they haven’t announced any changes to the companion pass but i’m sure they will.

it’s also of note that the ceo of this crooked company is tim leiweke. tim used to be the ceo for AEG, a company owned by ku alumni phillip anschutz.

quite interesting how these tater bucks are getting funneled inappropriately.

Found some super meaty St. Louis cuts at Fareway   Turned out great

those look great.

i’ve been cooking a lot of ribs, i’ve ditched the 3-2-1 and don’t even wrap anymore.

the first and last time I got ribs at fareway, I asked the butcher for a slab and he went somewhere in the back, grabbed a cryovac rack of smithfield ribs, pulled them from the package, and wrapped them in butcher paper and handed them to me. never again.

also, that brisket looks really small. bigger briskets have more margin for error. just vacuum seal the leftovers, it lasts forever in the freezer and heats up great.

15
So my brisket remains dry.  I need some pro tips.

Maybe I am over trimming and not leaving enough fat on it.  Usually smoke 3-4 hours then wrap with butcher paper.  I am using lump charcoal and wood chunks.  I struggle keeping even temp until I get it wrapped and finish in the oven.

tom, until you get that temp dialed in, you’re going to continue to struggle with brisket. based on your graph, you’re cooking way too fast. what type of smoker are you cooking on?

The game was fun on Tuesday.  A lot of young players getting solid minutes with the vets.  I hadn't seen much of Scott.  She was very aggressive with her challenges.  She'll get her share of yellows but I'd expect a lot of improvement as she gets minutes.  Most the concession stands were doing limited menus so that was a little disappointing, but CPKC is still the best stadium food in the business.  I thought I had a pissclams sighting but was not confident enough to yell pissclams at a stranger.
hot damn, fam. you have a good memory. i sat in 118, it’s a cool experience being right next to the goal like that.

Army, tech, and Colorado are fun games. TCU might be okay, UCF and North Dakota are crap.

I don’t disagree. Still, of those CU is the only name brand opponent.
we’re the brand name in every game we compete in. i’d say the best comparison would be to the majority of saban’s schedules during his glory years at alabama.

Mrs Chicat has sound-dampening earbuds she wears to concerts, sporting events, and movies now.  I'm embarrassed to admit that I used them at the last concert I was at and enjoyed them.
i’ve been using them too.

their partly new stadium is looking good. the crews have busted ass and it appears like it’s going to be ready for kickoff. i’m genuinely happy for our lil jayhawk bros and looking forward to seeing the place irl in late october.

funny thing is that they still have kivisto’s name on the turf
