Any news from 'Lew12 or 'Meister today?

Cursing makes you cool. So to answer the question with a question of my own, what % of people are cool?

It has been a year and Bubba Starling has still not played his first inning of professional baseball.

Meanwhile Bryce Harper and Mike Trout are in the majors.

Sad really...

Do you know how baseball works??? Its my understanding that you don't just call up a high school kid to the majors the next day... Harper was drafted in 2010 and is arguably one of the most hyped prospects ever. He made his debut a full season later. The Royals aren't exactly in a huge hurry to rush anyone up, they have the youngest roster in the league...

Predicto:

Kings beat the Devils in 6

Devils in 6. Too much experience on NJ's end. Goaltending is huge and let's face it, Martin might be the best to ever play.

Man, I feel pretty stupid right now  :bang:

Clams, you have well-manicured nails. Do you do anything extra to take care of them? Seems like my cuticles are always torn up  :ohno:

so what's the deal with 1863. where is it? food other than bfast? good? bad?
Formerly Campus Tavern, which was formerly The Loft.  Food (other than bfast) is okay.  They have some pretty good specials throughout the week, including $5 bottles of wine that you can schoolyard with your friends.

Also, their "specialty drink" or whatever is the LAX bomb, which is just some liquor they set on fire then put a coaster on it, which puts out the fire.  You lift the coaster, drink the bomb ASAP, and return the coaster on top.  You then take a straw and poke a hole in the top of the coaster, and inhale the leftover fumes.  I don't know if it gets you any drunker, but the ritual is pretty fun.

Not drunker, higher. The fumes are carbon monoxide, like exhaust from your car. Inhale a little bit, you get dizzy. Inhale a lot, you turn green and die. Pretty fun to watch people try to stick their straws back in it...

Do you consider alcohol that has been lit on fire food? If so, they have some pretty good food.

We shall see.

Also, the relatively new bar in Aggieville named Eighteen63 is advertising that they are open at 8 am with a full breakfast menu and $3 bloody marys.  Not sure if that is just a Sunday thing or an every day thing.  Just saw it on the sign today.  I am intrigued by this.
Apparently, the chef from The Patio created the menu.  Brunch date next Sunday, 8MP?

 :crossfingers:

I heard it was the head breakfast chef from "The Chef." Doesn't really make sense though, unless he just made the menu for a flat fee and then went back to his work. Either way, Eighteen63 has no business in the breakfast business, IMO.

Oh man, just finished reading the first two books of Hunger Games.  Fun read.  Starting book three tonight.

Hunger Games > Catching Fire >Mockingjay

Good read, though I was disappointed with how the last 2 kind of scrambled to end.

The end of Mockingjay was just silly.  Like a little girl made it up.

Confirmed.

Didn't think Catching Fire scrambled as much as Mockingjay did, Catching Fire made me want to read Mockingjay immediately. However, the end of Mockingjay was just brutal. I like to think it was just a rough draft and the real ending is coming out soon...

Wow, everything in that picture is so perfect. Was that the first take or did you have to take several pictures and adjust the lighting/angle/way your foil was wrapped??

UPDATE:  feel good. no swollen glands.  no headache.  no nasal congestion.  but, I now have a cough that won't go away.  so, MDs in this thread, what do I get a post sickness cough to go away?  I'm taking mucinex-d in the morning and nyquil at night.  I'm drinking tons of water.  what else should I do?  or, alternatively, has my cancer moved to my lungs?

Mucinex-D is probably the greatest thing ever invented. Take some vitamin C, should help speed up the process. Are you sure you don't have allergies? They're pretty bad this year...  :frown:

Just got home from La Hacienda with EMAWmeister. It was very good. I saw DLew there as well.

I will probably go again.

One time I went to a party at this guy's house just south west of Lawrence, KS.  I got really drunked up on Wild Turkey and woke up to the owner of the house fondling my junk.    :sdeek:  I was all like  an he was all like  :gocho:  so I went home... cause... you know I'm not homo.
Is it homo if you close your eyes and imagine a female?

My knee jerk reaction is yes so I'm not going to over think this one and say yes that would be homo.  There is nothing wrong with homo.  I'm just not homo.  I could ask my gay brother or my gay uncle what they think.

Out of curiosity, are they gay together?

chances that is the KU ticket office's listing?  100%
Just has to be...who else would by 100 football tickets?

FWIW, I think we give some Family Reunion tickets away for 15 bucks or something.

But that's for FAMILY. It's different.

If you were 26 and starting a Roth IRA right now would you invest a  portion of it in international funds? My wife's financial advisor says not to right now because of the instability, my line of thought is what better time to buy than when everyone else is running scared?

My roommates and I were talking yesterday and we're going to invest in Facebook. Selling everything we own, including the beer in the fridge and the house that we are currently renting.

Will post update in a few months from my private jet/yacht.

I just noticed it yesterday.  could have been there since anywhere from forever to yesterday.

I haven't taken an antibiotic sine I had my wisdom teeth out like 15 years ago.

Hmm... Sounds like a brown recluse bite.

Mods, please merge this thread with the "Spiders" threat. I want everyone to see just what happens when you don't pay attention to spiders. Today its an invisible lump, tomorrow half your face is deteroirated.

9593
I've had the same pair of sperrys for 3 years and they don't smell at all.  I don't wear them super frequently though (who would?)
I wear them all the time - every day.

After about three months, they break down on me.  Plus they stink.

Fantastic shoes though.

What Dlew failed to mention is that he has some of the smelliest feet on the planet. The shoes do get a bit smelly though, without socks they tend to last me about 6 months. I guess my feet are half as smelly as Dlew's.

Would recommend getting saddle soap or something like it to keep them looking new though.

We have an absolute crap ton of brown recluses around my office. We put out the glue traps and other things but we still seem to find about one a day... The secretary likes to catch them and then donate them to the K-State insect zoo or something like that. I say call the exterminator. Has anyone else had this problem?

are you sure they're brown recluses (reclusii?)? because that's nothing to be rough ridin' with.  :ohno:

Yup. They've got the violin shape on their backs, or whatever equivalent of backs these douchebags have.

Come on, you guys. Lady bugs are cute and cuddly. Brown recluses put flesh eating holes in peoples faces.

Possible solution: Capture all of the lady bugs from SD's office and put them in my rotting corpse (COD: Spider bite at work), then bury me 6 feet under.

morbid.  same age bracket.

mods please lock resident freak emawmeister's disgusting thread and any future threads where he talks about stabbing his neighbor's dog and stuff.

The history major calling interest in history morbid.  :dubious:
i think certain areas of history study are morbid.

Did dlew ever take the "history of death" class.  no, he did not.

Seems like an easy A to me. Why didn't you take it?

Does anyone remember when Mark Teahan's walk up music rotated to reflect his favorite Taking Back Sunday song that week? Jakesie?

He had a Bieber song for a while too. Pretty shitty taste in music and offspring, IMO.

He was traded before Bieber was out yet.

Oh, thanks! I totally forgot they don't use walk-up music in any of the other ballparks in America. It's probably just dead silent as the White Sox players walk up...

We have one at my office.

Boss doesn't really think printing a lifesize 3D Holo-Tupac is "cost-effective." I'll get one for my cube one of these days
