what did they actually say when you asked for a raise?

that I am fantastic and if I stick around and work hard maybe at some mystery date in the future good things will happen

edit: good things MAY happen

« on: October 15, 2015, 07:27:16 AM »
After several years at a job with good evaluations and feedback but no promotions/raises I asked if my employer would consider one at this time. (I did not demand a raise or "give me promotion or I quit" but just made the case.) They told me how wonderful I am and then closed the door and started laughing (OK I just made the second part up.) So I've decided to leave, my question is when other employees ask why I'm leaving what do tell them? Some generic "time to move on" line? The truth?

Mine has been OU due to their coach stealing/recruit stealing/signal leaking history. Thinking about switching to cheap-shot State in Stillwater.

(*KU does not count)

I am tired of these possum brained PCers trying to get sports teams to change their names because they might offend someone. A bunch of militant dwarfs are on the rampage against the Freeburg illinois HS Midgets.   Heaven help you if you offend native whatevers.   Housecat lovers will soon be after Wild-cats.   What happened to free speech?   Renorejects doesn't offend me.

this is why we need to be proactive and change mascot to K-State Biohazard

it seems the bend but dont break defense, which allows moving the ball and focuses on making stops inside the 20, is not the optimal strategy when trying to prevent a field goal

I LOL'd when OSU rushed 3 linemen and one of them proceeded nearly untouched to sack our QB

Morgan Burns made me very sad today. :frown:

reminded me of 2000 KSU/OU championship game when OU hit about 10 passes in a row to their 7-foot TE/WR who towered over whichever of our D was supposed to be covering him

Of the following strategies, two would have been high-risk; one was guaranteed not to work

1. Instead of running in for TD, Hubener kneels on 1, we kneel on 3 plays to run clock, then try to score on 4th down

2. We let OSU run back kickoff for TD, or after kicking out of bounds, defenders fall to ground on 1st play, allowing OSU TD and giving us time to possibly drive for win

3. We go up by 1 or 2 points with 3 minutes left on the clock and rely on D to stop OSU

Of course I'm not particularly serious......

I want a Catlin Jenner custum.  Scary and ugly.

I want a Kim Kardashian costume. Scarier and uglier.

"Bill had a lot of influence, he and I are very close," Leavitt said Monday morning on the Big East coaches media conference call. "Bill is a great man. I was fortunate to coach on his staff. We pattern our programs very similar. Nobody can ever replace that guy."

Leavitt went 95-57 at South Florida, got $2.75 from USF for wrongful termination, and since he left I believe USF has gone 23-41.

I have no idea about the circumstances of him leaving USF. But didn't Snyder try to hire him as DC and Currie vetoed the idea?

It sounds like lots of folks don't like kliff because he's young, good-looking and popular.  Hell, if I hated everyone who was younger, better looking and more popular than me, I'd hate about three people.

I forgive you

Recently enjoyed Time Lapse, rented on amz for $0.99, time travel movie with some unexpected (to me) twists. It is better than this makes it sound:

TIME LAPSE explores the possibilities of time travel through a machine that is capable of taking pictures 24 hours into the future. When three friends discover this mysterious machine in their neighbor's apartment, they encounter a number of pressing questions, not least of which is the whereabouts of their neighbor. Realizing the potential impact of the machine, Finn (Matt O'Leary), Jasper (George Finn), and Callie (Danielle Panabaker) attempt to cash in on their discovery. But, when a dangerous criminal learns their secret, the friends must set aside their differences and confront the paradox of a future that was once predetermined and entirely uncertain. Using an engaging blend of action, humor, and philosophy, TIME LAPSE is an original thriller that not only keeps the audience guessing, but also explores questions of pre-determination, free will and destiny.
