Kansas State Football / Re: Big Idea
« on: April 02, 2021, 10:38:41 AM »

So fellas, I've been doing a lot of research lately.  This was spawned by the realization that WE, THE FANS, can make a real difference in the way our favorite team (ksu) operates.  We've seen the stuff _Fan has done and the way the University has embraced it.  I know we've visited this subject in the past, but I think now, as LHOFHCBSFS embarks on a major construction project, is the time to really push for it.

First of all, we all love LHOFHCBSFS.  It's a great stadium.  One of the best in the country.  But if we're being honest with ourselves, the stadium has a huge black eye.  That black eye is that idiotic asphalt track that goes around the stadium.  Squawk fans give us hell about that, and I'm humiliated every time they bring it up.  We need to replace that with a unique tradition that will give Kansas State an instantly recognizable brand.

What I'm trying to say is this, guys. It's time to get this Lazy River business off the ground.

I know this concept has been brought up in the past, but I think we were putting the cart before the horse.  Before, we had tried to give the greater MHK community a public transportation system with the river.  There were talks of it being underground and heated.

Do not get me wrong; that should still be the endgame, but a project like that takes an insane amount of capital and cannot be achieved overnight. To assume it could is asinine and ridiculous.  Time to be rational about this.  There has got to be phases.  The first phase, I suggest, should be to replace the hideous asphalt track with an above ground, heated, river, which may or may not be lazy.  The river would be wide and deep enough to allow for big $$$ donors to float reasonably sized speed boats, clippers, gondolas and even yachts to float around the field.

In addition to the increased revenue supplied by said boat enthusiast-donors, we could also cover the lost revenue previously generated by Harley Day by creating a Kawasaki day.  Picture it: Hundreds of jet-skis circling BSFS on ABC minutes prior to the big game against in-state rival Kansas.

The roar and mist created by them would drive students into a frenzy AND generate some SERIOUS cash flow, which, will support a wider river infrastructure down the road, possibly coinciding with UPKS's 2025 plan. I've contacted UPKS already with this plan, and am awaiting his response.  In the meantime, feel free to add any suggestions or concerns here.

I don't think anyone in the country has anything like this, but I could be wrong though.  The time for a lazy river is NOW, people.

What's the status of this? With the federal money spigot flowing, we should be able to get it in the Biden infrastructure bill if it's not in there already.

War for the Planet of the Apes. 93% on RottenTomatoes. I would give it one thumb down.

Coco movie in the theaters. 2 enthusiastic thumbs up!

But before it starts, there is a 21-minute Frozen cartoon. I left to make sure I was in correct theater and another guy was doing the same thing.

what is the relationship with goEMAW? Will that board be absorbed?

Eventually, yes. The two networks are combining. Some things from goEMAW.COM will be used (such as MakeItRain's gif of GOAT v BOY) and some of 247. The timing of our contract change and the merger didn't line up ideally.

"Indeed, this coming Saturday, we are the underdog to the University of Texas. Outside of Texas, very few people cheer for the Longhorns because the University of Texas represents in most people's minds incredible wealth and arrogance. Many Texans believe that the world begins and ends with Texas. After all, if you know your Texas history, Texas was an independent nation-state from 1836 to 1845. Many people in Texas still think they should be a separate nation." http://cjonline.com/stories/100199/spo_wefaldletter.shtml#.WAp7APkrK70

The whole checking into plays thing may be past its prime since defenses disguise their coverage.

I realize I am NOT THE FIRST person to comment on this.

Fire Dimel; Fire Hays.

Three of the more frustrating losses I can remember as a long kstater came in the last twelve months:  Osu and TCU last year, WVU this year.  Led at half in all three....didn't we used to be good at that?

The media has been very kind to Kellyanne Conway, she says stupid crap on the reg. I realize this is a function of who she is selling/defending, but my god has she skated. Also wtf is Kellyanne? Does she have a brother named Jimparker?

i don't understand why news shows invite these people on when their only role on the program is to respond to questions by lying or refusing to answer.

:curse: I was listening to a radio interview with Clinton campaign manager.

Q: Name one thing Donald Trump did right last night
A: He was terrible, I was surprised at his lack of preparation, etc.

Now at this point the reporter should have either said "are you deaf" or "are you incapable of comprehending a simple question" or hung up on him. Of course this goes for how reporters should respond to all parties who have been trained to ignore the question and say whatever they want to say.

Gary Johnson sure seems like a nicer guy than Trump or Clinton

He voted against $1.1 trillion spending bill that included NBAF. Is the logic that he is supposed to vote for any budget-busting abomination if it includes some dollars for Manhattan?

I just saw Cpt America/Civil War. Did not see the last few Avengers movies.

Here is how I imagine the job interview for Scarlett Jo/Black Widow went down:

Avengers: "What is your special power?"

"I am resistant to infection ....

...

...

AND I am super-flexible."

Avengers: "Hired!"

I'm still bent out of shape about that archery dude.

Just found this tie, have not ordered though: http://www.samhober.com/american-college-university-silk-ties/kansas-state-silk-tie-12-purple-and-white.html Kansas State Silk Tie #ECO-12 (Purple & White)

I mostly wear "lavender" shirts from https://www.blanklabel.com/shirts/dress (off-the-rack fits weird)

Every day someone asks me "why are you wearing purple again?" Here is an article: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jacquelynsmith/2012/10/05/steve-jobs-always-dressed-exactly-the-same-heres-who-else-does/#50e0c9371ff9 Excerpt: “When you wear something that just feels right, you are confident. And it is also great to have a trademark look. It makes you memorable and distinctive.” Others do it to be more efficient. Take Albert Einstein. It has been reported that the famous physicist bought several versions of the same grey suit because he didn’t want to waste brainpower on choosing an outfit each morning.

As others have pointed out, instead of negotiating for more money, they sue. And in their lawsuit, they apparently say they are paid 4 times less than the men. (I don't know how this is even possible since 1 times less would be $0.)

Just curious about what Frank said to Will at (OU? OSU?) missed shot or free throw or failure to take shot. Assume someone will see this and know exactly the situation I am talking about. I am old and forgetful.
