Holy crap I did not know this:

Quote
K-State sent 45,000 fans to the 1997 Fiesta Bowl victory over Syracuse, a number that remains the largest college fan group ever to cross state lines to see a game.
how do you not know the greatest of K-State0 bowl talking points?

i've never heard it talked about is the main reason i guess.

One of the three things Bill said on stage Saturday.

On the KSU bowl website.

General knowledge.

What else would you expect?  :dunno:

Mill Avenue in Tempe is right next to ASU Campus and probably has the best entertainment value. Went down there a few years back on spring break to see some spring training baseball and we spent most of our time down there before and after games. Nice views if you know what I mean.   :fatty:

Completely forgot about Mill Avenue. That place is pretty solid. There is also a mesquite burger grill spot that is pretty dope right next to the ASU campus. Will return.

Yeah they are silently accepting the trophy only because of the rules....which also require you to pose on an opponent's field:

What kind of weird jazz hands are they throwing up??

Kansas State Football / Re: Official Klein for Heisman (Kleinsman) Thread
« on: December 04, 2012, 08:35:09 AM »
Klein will not win the heisman for the same reason that we got screwed out of an at large bid to the BCS last year. Our Athletic Dept. is great an all (I guess) but they are just not ready for the greatness that our student-athletes are putting on the table. It's as if they are shocked when we are a part of the discussion at the big boys table. And then we are behind the 8-ball. Oh well, Collin.... you had a good run. Now lets go get every other QB award but the Heisman.

The origins of Oregon's name are shrouded in mystery, although the most popular theory is that it was derived from an incident during the Lewis & Clark expedition where they lost a canoe paddle on the Columbia river.

They are a state that loves a good pun.

I figure this is a bit of a different question than the Travel thread so I will ask it here.

Any recommendations for things to do in the metroplex? Time of day is really of no concern considering I will have zero things to do but pop my k-state gear's collar until kick-off.

Looking for :popcorn: with a little  :opcat: as possible.

Now that Rustys is frat boy central and longhorns is shut down, where are the 'seeds gonna go?

Kite's Red Dirt

Most of them are pissed because they put the tables back in the middle of the floor. They'll probably head down to the Dirty Dawg once they figure out it's open. I stopped by there Saturday night, didn't feel like waiting in line forever, they had $5 32 oz. draws of Shiner Bock. It will probably fail if the rednecks don't get the word out, though.
Wtf are you talking about? What is the Dirty Dawg?
It replaced Bushwackers.

Oh yeah... Forgot about that one

Does this mean we need to re-do the Ultimate Aggieville Pubcrawl Challenge? Should be a lot easier now that half the bars are connected. If only Green Tea and Hibachi can establish some kind of expansionist tunnel to make things easier.

Sounds like a great idea!

Just learned about a discretionary day at work that I MUST use between the 4th of December and the 20th of December. Any takers? Anyone willing to chaperone/keep me awake?

This is the first day in 4 weeks that I have not worn purple to work. It just hurt too much this morning when I was getting dressed. Just decided on black. Black everything. Everything is black. Even my skin is blacker than I think it used to be.

In short, it's not you goEMAW, it's me. I think we should take a break. I need to work on myself.

Have an actual job/career? I'm guessing less than 1%.

I just hope you understand that a job and a career are two slightly different things.

"The BCS Championship ticket allotment includes some tickets that are discounted to $235 each for students"

"Also I know this question has come up regarding public has come up regarding public/donor orders: it will not take 2 weeks to tell people whether they will receive tickets or not"

this comes from my A+ source

eh... I trust you. Seems like you went through a lot more effort than I did to find this out.

ATTN: STUDENTS

I'm hearing that there will be no discounted student tickets for the NC game. $350 a pop like everyone else. Get your holiday wish list ready...

Rumblings or grumblings?  Will there be some set aside specifically for students?

Yep, that's what I'm hearing. Just that they will not be discounted as they have been for other bowl games. Take it with a grain of salt or think real hard about what the BC$ does...

I believe Meredith was severely injured in an auto accident many years ago.

I believe it was a horse incident.

Either way, poor taste, gentlemen. You know who you know.

I'm hearing word that the ticket office is projecting a 2 week delay from when the bowl is announced and pre-orders are confirmed/denied due to bowl negotiations and overload of pre-orders.

Just had a delightful chat with BITB Beth Mendenhall. Here is our Q&A

Me: "Beth, what are your thoughts on the successes of the KSU Wildcats football team this season?"
Beth: "i think that it is excellent and wonderful, and i am now a full convert to the cult of LHC Bill Snyder. the man is so OLD. are there games in december?"

Me: "Very interesting. Beth, would you wear a shirt that said EMAW if it meant we won the national championship?"
Beth: "Only if i was allowed to redefine it as "every mother a wildcat." Alternative - "every motherf***er a wildcat"

eh, at least I tried....

Kansas State Football / Pre-Schemed Road to the 'ship
« on: November 13, 2012, 12:46:05 PM »
I believe National Championship Bound Legendary Head Coach and Future College Football Hall of Famer LHC Bill Snyder has schemed this year so far back that he chased aTm out of the Big XII so they could be a mole by ruining Bama's season in the SEC, planted Phil down at Baylor so we could walk over his defense during thanksgiving break, and then palled around with Mack Brown down in Austin so that while he's on the hot seat, ole Mackie could bow out of his career for his bestie Snydes by getting stomped by the KSU Wildcats as they sure up their National Title Bid.

Plausible? Or no...

My apologies for the run on sentence....
