I remember theClamsKSU predicto of KSU being invited to the SEC last time around.  Some of the funniest stuff I've ever read.  Wish I knew what thread that was.

we should stock our program with 85 females and become the #1 pipeline to the Lingerie Football League. the results on the field literally could not be worse

Is b-ball that bad on the flipside? Would be nice if it's not quite 71 years...

There was a 40 year stretch (1948-1988) where the match up was even at 52-52. If you take that stretch out KU has destroyed us like 150-42. NOT GOOD

And during that stretch KSU won more conference titles and attended more NCAA tournaments.  In fact I think it was 1992 before KU passed us in tournament appearances.

Can we get a link to that disrespect?

It's just our old buddy luvthatblue.  Even a conversation about Nebraska somehow turns in to KSU bashing.

And as far as kstate, their football and basketball programs are basically a clone of each other which is both middling programs, but kstate football fan has this false narrative that they belong in the top 3 or 4 in the Big 12 which is laughable, nobody in the world thinks that highly of their football program but themselves, they have never even won anything in the sport outside of two conference titles in which one of them took pulling off a monumental upset in a game against Oklahoma when they were a double digit underdogs smh

i really didn't think you guys looked too good last weekend but we'll see, like you said, it just takes a while.

I didn't think K-State looked that good against North Dakota State this year, and I didn't think you looked that great against Eastern Kentucky a few years ago either.  We'll see.

we don't have as much to prove as you.  until you do something other than win 1 game a season, i'm inclined to think you're still a 1 win a season team.  i hope this makes sense.

It doesn't make any sense.  KU has one 1-win season in the last 25 years.  That's really not the norm for KU.  Last year was a complete transition year for Weis and the football program.  Weis weeded out a bunch of players that didn't cut it athletically and/or academically, and took a short-term hit in order to set a precedent.  Even with that, KU was still able to run on teams last year, and almost pulled off a couple upsets (yeah, I know, moral victory HUR HUR HUR!!!).  Weis hired some good assistant coaches and a stud strength coach from Florida.  I don't know... this feels more like Mangino's second year to me than Turner Gill's.  It also looks to me like K-State has drifted back to the mean a little bit.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It's fun to look back at some of these old posts knowing how it all played out.

It’s not out of bounds for him to do it, but the content was pretty dumb. He is usually pretty good about playing to his audience so I doubt he does another one.

He did one last year.

I think Collin Klein started one game vs Texas in 2010 due to his running ability, and then we went back to Coffman after that.  Klein was 2-4 for 9 yards passing in the whole game, yet we won by a score of 39-14.

LOL. Just got done telling my son they’ll run this back with no time left. What a clusterfuk. Taters don’t need the sheep. They’re doing a pretty good job of bending us over the truck bed right now.

Quote
this is the dumbest football I have ever seen. 34-7 down at half but KU should be winning this game

Quote
It would really suck to pull the plug on this staff but we have a better chance of the sun engulfing our planet then MIles turning this thing around.

After a lot of soul-searching and talking things over with my family, I've decided to "opt out" of being a KU football fan this season.

***respect my decision!***

At this rate we’ll be bowl eligible by the time everyone on this board is fertilizing daffodils.

I bet enough money each week against KU to make me happy when they get crushed. You gents should start doing the same if you are going to watch this crap.

Quote
Miles and Long should not be allowed on the bus after the game. They should have Beaty Uber them back to Lawrence.

Quote
I predicted 0 wins for this year and I am STILL amazed at how bad we are.

Quote
With continued improvement...I think they can reach zero wins.

Quote
I think we should just put a headset on a football. Pretty much the same thing as Miles standing there on the sidelines with that 1000 yard stare

I just turned on the radio and had to hear Hannis super excited touch down call as though we just grabbed the lead.

*sigh*

I was just thinking if KU had any kind of offense we could easily win this game, neither team is very good, take away special teams for kstate and this game is pretty much even.

This says more about how pathetic the Big 12 is anytime this ksu team is undefeated in your league, they would finish no better then 7th or 8th in the SEC.

Quote
if you take away punt returns, int returns, and drives that started on our 30 yard line or closer for ksu, KU is up 7-0

Mizzou left in 2011, not 2010.  They and A&M stayed a year longer than Nebraska and Colorado did.

This guy doesn't seem to understand TSC.

Quote
I'm KU first and foremost for life, but I have no problem cheering on the Big 12 as long as it is not at KU's expense.

I will cheer for any team in the league with the exception of ksu, for obvious reasons. It does KU absolutely no good when kstate has any success in football, it makes what is already a steep climb even steeper, I rather see Mizzou have success in football then kstate, KU should absolutely be better then little brother but ksu has been running circles around us for almost three decades now and looks like the current coach may be taking over where Snyder left off, and if he does indeed keep winning I hope Scott Frost fails at Nebraska and he bails on ksuck for the Huskers job, or eventually leaves for Iowa or something

K-State built a respectable P5 stadium out of a hole in a parking lot on a desolate plot of land (a feat on par with Tony Stark forging the first Iron Man suit out of scraps in a cave). KU's glorified high school venue sits in a beautiful spot smack in the middle of campus, begging for a simple makeover that it might transform into something truly special, while AD regime after regime turns a deaf ear, its attention reserved, I suppose, for its most favored sport: pocket pool.

If you handed out a grant to have KSU and Mizzou collaborate on a plan to decimate KU football after winning the Orange Bowl, there is no way they could have constructed a more effective scenario.

I'm sure ISU will take a lot of people down to Florida to see them play ND. I'm hoping it snows in Memphis for the Purple Turds' matchup with Navy in the Liberty Bowl. Great to see they got a cold weather venue.

Ksu continues to get a huge dose of reality of where they stand nationally when it comes to a TV draw,.as they got picked over in favor of Iowa State by the higher profile bowl games despite finishing with a better record and beating the Cyclones head to head.

Further proof that they are fcked if the Big 12 ever breaks apart as they are no doubt behind Iowa State in the pecking order for the least desirable school in the conference when the dust settles.

I'm sure it won't stop our idiot purple trolls from coming over here making fools out of themselves talking trash like they belong in the same league with the big boy schools like Alabama and Ohio State, If only they were intelligent enough to realize how stupid they look?

I spent 6 years in the Marine Reserves, so technically I was "in the Navy".  But I have never once in my life watched a Navy football game.  Should I feel guilty about that?  Who should I be rooting for in this matchup?  In the Marines we made fun of the Navy.  We used to call them "swabbies", haha.

So would it be accurate to say that KU lost more conference games in a 10-year span than any other team in history with 83 losses?  And the next-closest contender only lost 73?

Didn't want to start a new thread for this nugget, but I believe that we've become just the 6th major college program in CFB history to have a sub-.100 conference winning percentage over 10 seasons. Here's the list of (dis)honor:

1. Western State, 1926-35, Rocky Mountain Conf. - 2-50 (.038)

2. Kansas State, 1943-52, Big 6/Big 7 - 3-52 (.055)

3. U. of the South (Sewanee), 1931-40, Southern/SEC - 3-46 (.061)

4. Kansas, 2010-19, Big 12 - 6-83 (.067)

5. UTEP, 1975-84, WAC - 5-65 (.071)

6. Duke, 1999-2008, ACC - 7-73 (.088)

KU football for the Decade of 2010's.  How did it go?

1.  21 W's and 98 L's (17.6% winning percentage)
2. Outscored 2298 to 4416.  Point differential of 2,118.
3. Longest winning streak was 2 games (did it twice).
     i. 2011 over McNeese State and N. Illinois (McNeese is a FCS school)
ii. 2018 over C. Michigan and Rutgers (both teams finished seasons with 1-11 records)
4. 9 Power5 wins in the decade.  Only 1 team* ended season with a winning record TCU in 2018 was 7-6
*Boston College is 6-6 going into their bowl game so could be 2.
5. KU won 6 Big 12 games at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence going 6-37.  K-State won 6 games at Memorial Stadium going 6-0.  LHC Bill Snyder is the Head Coach who won the most Big 12 games at Memorial Stadium.
6. KU averaged 16.6 points against Big 12 opponents.
7. KU allowed 40.9 points against Big 12 opponents.
8. KU went 6-82 against Big 12 competition.
9. The 21 teams KU beat has a combined record of 99-156 in the season KU won (39% winning %).  Boston College still has one more game.
10.  KU was 2-51 on the road in the decade.  Beat Central Michigan (1-11) and Boston College (6-6)*

Quite the decade for KU football!  They do have Miles to Go.  Also, Beaty's 2018 team gave up an average of 35 points in Big 12 play; Miles' 2019 team gave up an average of 42.

Should be 99 losses.  21-99 for a total of 120 games played.

Taters just got gifted a poor call on TD catch

It's our old buddy luvthatblue weighing in:

Quote
Its amazing too me how many times they win games this way, there's no way Tech should have had that TD overturned and it ended being the difference in the game because Tech lost by 3

It reminded me of the game we had against them last year when the Refs bailed kstate out twice on two long runs for KU late in the game with BS holding calls that would have sealed the deal for a KU win.

That's why I have no respect for their program, I wonder how much longer can they continue to have so much luck fall into their laps before the law of averages kicks in and they start losing majority of their games to teams with better talent?

I've hit the wall of being excited. Year after year of naively getting excited for each season (except maybe Beaty's last one, I knew we had zero chance), only to get kicked in the nuts each time, will leave you a bit jaded.

At halftime of the game today, I just lost it. I went through the house screaming, letting out 10 years of pent-up frustration. Two weeks to prepare and we come out looking like absolute dog ***** on both sides of the ball. Another run-run-incomplete opening possession. More ridiculous pitch plays. No run blocking. Absolute air defense on OSU's first drive. I was just done. Finally. I'm normally a positive person, but I just snapped. I'm just tired of not just being bad a football but being completely ****** inept in every phase. I'm tired of the constant disappointment and embarrassment.

I'm finally beginning to live in the realm of reality. The BC, Tech and Texas games were just flukes. We are going to suck even more next year. There is no way around it. Our offensive and defensive lines are and will continue to be a complete joke for the foreseeable future. You can't compete when you get beat up front constantly. If Les is the guy, and in my mind that's a BIG if, it will be years before we put anything on the field that we can be remotely proud of.

Les. We were all excited (at least the vast majority of us) when we landed him. But let's be honest, he isn't the same guy who won a NC. He is ... slow. Don't tell me he's always been that way, because he hasn't. We got Les Light. If we're honest with ourselves, I think it's clear we didn't get the guy we thought we got. KU football is absolutely snake-bit. I'm convinced of it.

So to sum it up, no, we can't have nice things. It's time to accept that and find a nice Saturday hobby.
