You think they'll print him off a diploma to include his NBA earnings in their average?
Wouldnt help enough.
Rumor is he hates ku and Self anyway.
From what Beems predicted, I assumed he was majoring in tea-bagging?
Either way, with an offer from Miami Frank would've looked great. He's either going home to rebuild a bad program or he's staying at the program that gave him a chance. More Frank love from the media. But now he's sitting there seeing Miami go after this list: UAB’s Mike Davis, Auburn’s Tony Barbee, Murray State’s Billy Kennedy, Harvard’s Tommy Amaker, Richmond’s Chris Mooney, as well as former Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel and former Arkansas coach John Pelphrey. I really can't blame Frank for wondering what the heck is going on here.
I think Kitchen's piece may have pinpointed why they're going with that particular list.
It could be that the current Miami administration isn't really looking at hiring a guy with a controversial disposition and the New Times up his posse's ass.
This isn't going to change with the new AD. If they wanted him and wanted to have a serious conversation by now, they would have had it. Hell, they'd have announced him as the HC already, and he'd be picking out a nice home in a gated community somewhere. This has to be coming down from Shalala and/or the big money at Miami, and not even Ginger McWhitebread is going to come in swinging for the fences to make a splash in his first week. I'm sure he's had a conversation with the administration, and "No Frank Martin" has probably already been discussed.
That's why Frank's move doesn't seem calculated to me. Maybe he's just venting to Tucker for the reasons you mentioned, but you HAVE to think that Katz has already called him and told him to STFU. He's screwing things up with his current employer for a job he isn't going to even get a serious look at.
Danny Manning will turn this kid into the next Marcus Morris.

This shouldn't be a surprise. Was told Miami thru intermediary has told Frank Martin's peeps that the hoops job will pay about 1mil.
That's allegedly less than what Haith made & allegedly less than what Martin makes. Haith's salary was allegedly putting budget in the red
So, UM allegedly wants to keep budget at a reasonable level. So, unless a Board of Trustee Member steps up. Frank Martin ain't happening
Do they realize FM's asst coaches are gonna cost about $700k, too
sgorten (UM beat writer for Sun-Sentinel)
@BShady (Anthony Grant) would be my no. 1 choice, but think will be outta UM price range. Already at $1.8 mil and in talks for possible raise about 5 hours ago via ÜberSocial in reply to BShady

So if Donna Shalala said no to Mike Leach, why would she say yes to Frank Martin, who can make Leach look like a choir boy?

I admit it is cute how Kansas likes to hang off Missouri's ball sack.
KU doesn't rebuild, they reload. Another preseason #1 ranking for the 'hawks.
good news. i smell another 84-64

JFC Kellis, just let him eat his. Fyp.cakecookies.
its worth a discussion about a schools eliteness if its all been with one coach.
Exactly. Take away your best coach ever and your worst coach ever and that's who you are as a program. Duke doesn't make the cut.
The players he recruits are not only extraordinarily stupid, but extremely manipulative too.
I don't agree. Something is wrong. A National Champion should have some sort of body of work that they can rest their laurels on. A poor to average team getting hot at the right time should not result in a National Championship. In many cases, these were not one game anomolies but consistent poor play. When an announcer goes on and on about the beauty of this tournament being that "all four teams struggled during their regular season", then something is wrong. I think the tournament should be representative of a true National Champion, not a mediocre team that catches fire at the right time.

So VCU has played their best game of the season how many games in a row?
Only once
I was in the car this afternoon and caught some of the uk post-game show. Unfortunately, Bob and Piper had already signed off (apparently to upset to go on any longer) and David Lawrence was hosting. Here are a couple gems:
"Let's go back to San Antonio to the podium and VCU head coach Shaka Smart" 1 minute of Smart and VCU player then, "That's about enough of that"
At one point they went to commercial here in KC and the first commercial on 610 was a promo for the Jim Rome Show which was all about Frank killing Kellis in the post-game presser and ends with JR saying, "I would let my son play for Frank!"
Had to f'ing kill KU fans to hear that during their post-game.
Finally, some half-mentally challenged fella from McPherson or Salina or Newton called in telling everyone that this loss was not going to keep him from being a uk fan.
Do uk fans really consider abandoning their team after each loss?
Round of 64: No. 16 Alabama State
• Round of 32: No. 9 Fresno State
• Sweet 16: No. 12 Gonzaga
• Elite 8: No. 11 Temple
This is Michigan State's 2001 run.
Should Izzo be fired?
Finish the list for Izzo and you will have your answer.
Izzo's #1 seed lost to #2 seed Arizona by 19 in the national semifinals.
Should KU lose to #2 Florida, he should be fired?
absolutely
Izzo as well? Sweet.
