The whole Tier 3 thing is so Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) to me.  Just don't let them have HS ball on it, and then get the eff out the way.

It is the ultimate "I wish I was as good as them" butt hurt.  Not like MU or anyone else has contributed a damn thing to making TX something that would sell a lot of Tier 3 content, so why should Mu or anyone else get any of it?

If the conf wants to remain butt hurt, just don't play on their network w/o getting paid.

Shouldn't be hard.

I have to say, I agree with this completely. Very simple. If TX can drive their own network (to televise stuff that no national network wants), that should be their perrogative (sp?). They have a reasonable expectation to do this -- all the whining by teir II confy schools is just petty. Also agree that HS stuff is out of bounds and over the line.

Have to admit, today seemed like a very vintage Snyder game. No one else like him.

At first I thought that this was probably going to result in the receivers packing on some unwanted pounds, but then I thought again and decided, not so much.

Thanks for wasting an hour of my life finding this out:

So... some weird self-proclaimed macho A&M guy living in Austin tears down his own fence in the middle of the night to get revenge on his new neighbor with bright yard lights who he assumes is a whorns fan but really isnt turns out hes a divorced guy with lots of health problems and hes gonna have surgery soon so it makes him feel really awkward so they have a few beers and then he puts his own fence back up backwards and crooked but doesn't really care because he already posted this stuff on an A&M message board to let them know how he really got a good one on a whorns fan but wait o no anyway so all of this can only mean one thing and that is barbeque because A&M is going to the SEC now which is really kind of like tearing down the fence of the whorns who you really dont like and building a new fence in sec land and so it really works well and some brats with some message board trolls would be a great idea and there's a great guy he knows that has a camera and can stream this live on the internet and by the way he has a barbeque too and is gonna bring the meat but some of the other texags guys should pitch in and help and show up at his house and by the way here's my phone number and my address and my name and everything and so then to make it easier to find him he makes sure he scribbles a note on a piece of paper in his truck window which is parked in front of his house so all the texags will know its his house right so anyway this guy has some army buddies in hot zones and they want to see it so were going global the bbq will be a great morale booster to those guys they're good guys they serve our country and they would really love it so yeah and when all the guys come over to his house for the bbq theyre going to take down his fence again because that would be like the theme of the party but yeah its ok he doesn't really mind that much cuz hes gonna put the fence back up after they leave anyway but wait he just noticed his neighbor is putting up a privacy fence of his own that is like higher than his fence cant really blame him cuz after all what happend prolly weirded the neighbor out and all but just make sure you dont walk on his lawn for the bbq but it shouldnt be a problem cuz his fence is gonna be up anyway and so everyone is invited but if any whorns come by to troll or somethin he'll break out he mace on them but you can come by and have a good conversation with him about it cuz thats just who he is and you can see the fence that he painted too that he put in his front yard that he took down before the party which was the fence take down party but anyways it has a message on it show up for the party and you can see the message and this is gonna be a great aggy tradition

And that still made more sense than what I read.

... about tomorrow's game -- KSU (and espec. Snyds) has an incredibly good track record defending embarassing heisman candidates. See: Ricky Williams, Donovan McNabb, Carson Palmer, Seneca Wallace, Colt McCoy, etc. Historically, we've schemed really well against the teams that lean heavily on those type of playmakers. Here's hoping we can do it again (and not let Gannaway go wild).

What I'd like to know is what kind of lavalier they've got on Brian. Sounds like he's breathing into a radio broadcast mic.

41-28.

We'll be down by about 3 touchdowns until somewhere in the 4th quarter, where we score one close the gap slightly.

Everyone here will be calling for Cosh's head again, in large part because of the soft zone coverage which alternately allows long pass plays/big runs.

Yeah, I figured there would be a number that didn't like the music so well... I kind of have a love/hate with it myself. Kind of liked the different bright acoustic feel (and a little southern jam), but also felt a little too sunshine-y and corporate.

I don't have a huge library, and didn't want to have issues w/ the YT bots, so I went w/ something generic. Maybe you can tell me -- how typical is it to use licensed stuff with no problems?

Yeah, I'm trying to d/l this thing, and NO ONE is seeding!  :shakesfist:

I think its because no one except Houcat has 100% of the file.
who else has compeleted this download because I get a stall at 59%.

That's where I'm at too. Would be willing to seed this baby for a while if I could get the whole thing.

Epic effort. Maybe not the greatest talent in the whole world but very much a      performance. Yeah, fumbling could have been disastrous, but extremely gutsy. Need some screenies of the blood, dirt, jersey etc. We'll remember this one for a while.

9 teams might fit OK for scheduling, but I think the perception it would send is a big problem (we lose 3 teams, and do nothing about it -- just doesn't look good). Also, with all the power conferences between 12-14 teams, it leaves us pretty far behind. Since losing just 1 or 2 teams would leave us no longer viable, it also increases instability.

I'm happy with 10, if the 10th is BYU or Louisville. West Virginia really seems like a stretch geographically. If we take BYU and Louisville/WV/other BE teams, we stretch the conference out over 3 timezones, which would seem to create some other logistical problems. Obviously, as far as available teams, there is more room for expansion to the west (Boise, AF, etc.).

I think before we add any teams, however, strong measures have to be in place to ensure no one will be defecting. If such measures become reality, it would be perhaps easier to add the likes of Boise, because we know we're always going to be a top-tier conference w/ TX, OK, etc., and the big pump in revenue and recruiting that membership would give to the joining universities should help them sustain and grow on the success they've already had (not to mention facility upgrades, etc.).

Also... (sitting here thinking)... all the Okie's are saying their leverage is not as strong since the announcement from the PAC, which I suppose is true, but on the other hand, really what leverage does TX have at this point? Who else in the conference do they have to convince to make these reforms other than TX??

Ironically, it doesn't seem as if TX has much leverage right now either because they've publicly said they favor staying in the BigXII, the PAC bridge seems burned (at least for now), ACC doesn't seem interested (plus kind of a weird move geographically), and they really don't want to be an independent. So a stable Big XII is the best option for TX by quite a large margin, so they basically have to concede everything within that margin, and realize that's the best they're gonna get, amirite?

 :kstategrad:

Texas' leverage is that they can keep doing the exact same thing they are doing now.  They don't need anything to change in order to get what they want.  OU has nowhere to go because they can't go anywhere without OSU, and OSU can't get into the SEC.  There is nothing OU can do to stop the LHN from airing the UT-KU game this year and 3 conference b-ball games.  Is the Big12 going to sue ESPN? No.  What is going to keep Texas from airing high school highlights?  UT's legal stance is that they are allowed to do it, that this was part of the original conception of the LHN when everyone in the Big12 decided to allow school networks.  UT will do want they want until OU leaves or sues.  There is no hard and fast rule in the Big12 that doesn't allow them to do these things, and I'm not sure the Big12 has the legal power to implement them now.

If OU is serious, a simple vote among the schools could give them all of their demands. It doesn't take a unanimous vote to change revenue distribution or other conference rules. Texas will either have to deal with the results or leave.

Yeah, we can change the rules within the Big12, but those rules don't affect the UT-ESPN contract.  It's not just UT that OU is trying to affect, its also ESPN.  I highly doubt that ESPN will let the Big12 dictate the content they can show on the LHN.  If the Big12 forces content reduction on LHN ESPN will fight to reduce the $ to UT.  If UT led ESPN to believe that they could show high school content and multiple games when the contract was signed I'm sure ESPN would claim breach of contract.

Regardless of TV contracts.... the conference's 8 other members can dictate rules for the conference as a whole (which then apply to TX), and TX relents because they have no other choice. Seems pretty simple to me.

:surprised: I agree with everything OK is trying to do.   Amazing chain of events... just hope that all this drama has TX in a position to make a few concessions without getting unreasonably bent out of shape. Amazing article.

I will say, I was unclear as well whether the five years meant "five years from now" or "five years after you join another conference". Is the second really do-able with network considerations? The former seems weak, especially for long-term stability, but still better than what we have in place now, obviously.

125
I'm going to  through my  :bawl: when MU, KU, and KSU all end up in separate conferences.
