Kansas State Football / Seismic shift weekend?
« on: October 17, 2012, 11:01:21 AM »
If we can pull of the win in the coal pit, it could end up being one of the most memorable weeks for EMAW football in a very long time. Consider:

#2 Florida takes on #7 S.Carolina who lost a heartbreaker to LSU last week. If SC comes out mad, and is able to pull it off, it pushes UF into the one-loss column and the SEC becomes more muddled with teams shifting out of the top 5 and into the 5-10 range in the BCS.

#3 Oregon takes on a dangerous 5-1 Arizona St. team on the road. This will be the first true road game for the quacking unis (WSU doesn't count). If they don't play a sharp game, they could very well fold under their own feathers and leave OSU as the league's best hope for making a title game (lollers!).

#5 Notre Dame takes on a piddling BYU team which won't help their BCS cause much. OU awaits to seal their fate the next weekend.

This is a reasonable scenario which would leave K-State alone at the top with Alabama in the BCS  :sdeek: There's some legendary EMAWing potential on the line if we can play a solid 60 in all 3 phases this weekend!

Kansas State Football / Fistpump Prospects for the Angry Algaes
« on: September 12, 2012, 08:49:09 AM »
  • TFLs by the DL.
  • 1+ TDs for Lil'Lock in any phase of the game.
  • Double reverse zone read flea flicker of liberty.
  • #life starts 2nd half and launches guided missiles.
  • The emergence of D-Rob.

Now post yours.

Are so befuddled, they have nightmares about former players who weren't even on our team (namely, Roy Kibble) and acknowledge that all living creatures - particularly winged fowl - serve the cause of EMAW.

... we won a game with 121 yards or less of offense? (I assume it's happened at some point...)

TX nearly TRIPLED yards on us and we still find a way to win.

My son's birthday is this coming Tues. (he turns 6). Would like to take him to the game for his b-day, but no tix. Looking for at least decent seats, and something fairly cheap. Anyone help me out?

Kansas State Football / KU Beatdown Video
« on: October 28, 2011, 12:50:09 PM »
One more little thing for you to enjoy and help pass the time until gametime. Had this idea for a video, and didn't know if I would end up doing it, but I decided to go ahead and throw it together. One more tribute to last week's game, but with a little different twist. Besides, since the highlight video was removed, my fellow EMAWs needed a little more enjoyment from KU week.  ;)

Here's the link (will be live in a little while -- but I'm leaving town for the weekend, so I have to post it now):

The password is "squaks2011". Pass it on to those KU fans you want to be really rude to.

Time for this week's victory highlight reel once again. A lot of fun to showcase another Snyder beatdown:

This week, however, I have a very special bonus video for my goEMAW brothers. I think you'll enjoy it:

Some really fun plays and highlights this week. Went totally inspirational with the music this time. Here it is:

Kansas State Football / A season like no other
« on: October 17, 2011, 09:52:16 PM »
After last Saturday's win over Tech, once again in dramatic fashion, I am at a lack to explain this season, this team, and their performance. Sure, okay -- we added Arthur Brown. Nigel Malone has been great. But consider that we also lost Brandon Harold and Bryce Brown, who did have some expectations attached to their names (okay, Harold maybe more hopes than expectation, but whatevs).

Every game it's pretty obvious that we're a pretty average team talent wise, with a couple notable exceptions here and there. No elite talent at this point, though, other than AB. As I see it, Miami, Baylor, Mizzou, and Tech, all have more overall talent on their rosters. Our offense is pretty one-dimensional and the defense has given up a lot of yards.

But somehow, we've won four games in a row, in which the opponent was favored. We've won at home. We've been just as solid on the road. We've won against teams with good defenses, teams with great offenses, a team on a hot streak. We've won with a halftime lead. We've won with a halftime deficit. We've won by protecting a lead. We've won by digging out of a hole. We've won with timely offensive production. We've won with a goal line stand. We've won by keeping the ball away from the other team. We've won by taking the ball away from the other team. We've fumbled about half a gazillion times, and the ball bounces back to us.

Yet, in each of the last four games, you look at the players on the field, and overall you say that the talent is greater on the team not wearing purple. These are games that, all things being equal, we have no business winning. I've observed K-State football for a long time. Never have I seen a K-State team do what this team is doing.

Is it a bravura performance by Snyder? The players buying in? Confidence, morale, and team unity? A defense with a little more talent and a lot more pride? A gritty QB that everyone wants to rally around? The answer is probably "yes" to some degree to all of these questions. Yet that does not sufficiently explain it. There may be only one word to describe it.

Magical.

Kansas State Football / So let me get this straight...
« on: October 08, 2011, 07:46:22 PM »
...We've now won games against a team known for its speedy defense, a team known for its outrageous offense, and a team known for its great balance across the board.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.   :lynchmob:  :ksu:

Okay... was able to get the torrents yesterday and make them work, so here's the highlights from the Baylor game. I can guarantee the two music tracks have never been used together in the history of video.

Kansas State Football / Nothing says motivation like

... a candy bar.

http://www2.kusports.com/news/2011/sep/30/kansas-receivers-motivated-snickers/

At first I thought that this was probably going to result in the receivers packing on some unwanted pounds, but then I thought again and decided, not so much.

Kansas State Football / One positive thing
« on: September 30, 2011, 10:06:46 AM »
... about tomorrow's game -- KSU (and espec. Snyds) has an incredibly good track record defending embarassing heisman candidates. See: Ricky Williams, Donovan McNabb, Carson Palmer, Seneca Wallace, Colt McCoy, etc. Historically, we've schemed really well against the teams that lean heavily on those type of playmakers. Here's hoping we can do it again (and not let Gannaway go wild).

Epic effort. Maybe not the greatest talent in the whole world but very much a      performance. Yeah, fumbling could have been disastrous, but extremely gutsy. Need some screenies of the blood, dirt, jersey etc. We'll remember this one for a while.

Kansas State Football / Cheering Methods/Suggestions
« on: September 02, 2011, 10:40:52 AM »
Being a vocal supporter of the Q@z whenever I can make it to a game, I discovered early on that my voice wouldn't hold up for more than about a half (water doesn't make much of a difference). Really annoying when the game is close down the stretch and the only noise you can make is a hoarse whisper.

To remedy this, I employ my very loud two-handed finger whistle during defensive plays.

 :lynchmob:

Then on offense, I just cheer my head off during/after exciting plays.

 :ksu:  :comeatme:

Still end up hoarse, but can make a lot of noise when it counts.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Probably the best
« on: February 28, 2011, 10:29:49 PM »
... basketball we've played all year. The KU game was great, but this was a road game, and we kept grinding the game out. Everyone stepped up (almost) when needed to get and keep a lead. We would not be denied. This is the team I knew we could be all year long. Beautiful basketball. Just hope it continues.

   you Martin, Pullz and KSUBB for making me believe in you again.  :bball:

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Dead

Their fans are dead quiet. Musby and Knight are almost whispering. We're also playing without much energy offensively. Environment is terrible. Definitely a football school.
