Our anniversary means a lot,
Much more than any another day;
I celebrate my love for you,
And cherish you in every way.
Through passing time, our love still grows,
A caring relationship to explore;
Our life together gets better and better,
And I keep on loving you more and more.

Already a year, wow. When we started I thought we were going to get sued a lot more than we have. I mean, we get sued some but I was expecting like constant suings.

We need some ideas on how we should celebrate our anniversary. This has to be good, because we are setting precedent here for how we celebrate each year going forward.
Contests? Feasts? Fasting? Guest speakers? Carnivals?

i spend too much time here. so eff you guys.

I've been giving this some thought, and I think our first anniversary would be a good time to kickoff an initiative to build a monorail around campus.
I've done a little research, and you can get one for about $10 Million per km (http://www.monorails.org/tmspages/HowMuch.html)
It's 2.3 miles from LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium to the Higgginbotham Gate across from Aggieville, so that's about $37million. It would be comparable to the Korean Urbanaut monorail.
Obviously we'd go with purple as our choice among the available color options. Personally, I'd like to open it up to the City of Manhattan to link in and extend it out to the airport, but that's their call.

I vote the old plan of underground heated lazy river.
Things change, bro. You need to get on board with the monorail. Honestly, the lazy river idea was stupid...never going to happen.
Look, I think I speak for all the Mods around here when I say that we are fully prepared to thrust our great political weight behind any KSU Student Body President candidate willing to spearhead this initiative by making it the entirity of their platform.

Monorail: half as likely to give you gonorrhea.

Just submitted a layout/draft to oscar (You guys probably know him better as "Mayor Snead"). Anyways he's going to crunch some numbers, but overall he said he likes what he sees and that the project "looks likely with ground breaking in 2016."

hey, you lazy assholes, instead of arguing about it why don't you just compromise and create an underground heated monorail?
jfc, jfc.

lol @ the location of the entrance/exits points on that map.
wow, just wow.

can the lazy river be purple drink instead of water?

Monorail: half as likely to give you gonorrhea.
shouldn't even really be a concern for someone that probably already has it. chingon.
-
I am for either the Lazy River or the Monorail. I could care less. Either one would need to have a Basehor/West KC branch to secure my vote. Would also have to be able to be a high-speed river/rail portion between KC and Manhattan so I don't get bored in transit(maybe a jet ski portion on the not-so-lazy river).
If river, need to provide special equipt to keep me from getting wrinkly fingers/toes.

Expect a phone call from BSAC, we at goEMAW.com take HIPAA violations VERY seriously.
I didn't say a damn word when you wrote off those plugs as a "medical expense", but I think BCBS will be getting an anonymous tip very soon.

Well jokes on you bub, because we didn't go all the way. She said she an army test or something next week and she couldn't even if she wanted to (which she did of course). Said they would know if she did and it could get in her troubs.

Hey, Chingon. I'm also an Administrator of this board, although i'm slightly better at it than you are. You may want to edit your comment before I edit it for you.

ok, ok, ok. we all need to calm down. some things have been said that we would all probably take back if we could but we can't. let's just accept the fact that everyone is against this monorail and for the lazy river and move on as friends.
-
Long time, first time. Keep up the great work. Let me know if there is anything I can do to assist in the monorail effort.

Between Trim and Levitt, one of them needs to establish dominance over the other. There simply cannot be two choke-out'ers on this board at one time. Otherwise, I agree with chi.

This gonorail sounds more disgusting than a truck stop bathroom. Sorry, but I shouldn't have to wear a condom just to ride this thing from Dara's to Aggieville. No thanks.
Stick with the lazy river or BRT, mods.

Yeah Ching, let’s all jump on board the gonorail and ride it all the way to the next stop, Animal Planet's hit show “Infestation”!
Look, I’m just saying there are better ways to serve our high volume, urban mass transit needs in Manhattan: A lazy river. Or gondolas perhaps.

I can only support the monorail if there's a line from Laramie to the rec. Normally I'd walk my ass up there, but it's like negative igloo degrees outside right now. GET THIS INSTALLED NOW, SCHULTZ

yeah. great thinking. if it's super duper cold outside i know i'd much rather get on an above ground train type thing as opposed to a below ground heated water transit pool type system. also, did i mention the lazy river is going to have lazer lights and bubble machines throughout.

Plus you can clearly see that there's a stop at dennison and anderson on the Lazy River Map. Pretty sure that's just behind your apartment complex...

MODS,
I can only support the underground heated water lazy river thing if:
1. There is a station for underground access on the corner of 17th and Laramie
2. They have a "pontoon boat" carpool lane for quicker travel for those of us who can't afford to spend like 45 rough ridin' minutes tubing up to the rec and back
edit: OR A STOP AT DENNISON AND ANDERSON

the beauty of the lazy river will be that pdestrians will be able to hop in and hop out when they want. this is directly opposed to any kind of monorail system that will require complete stoppage of all passenges at each "docking station". my engineers have run many preliminary numbers on a variety of industry simulators and all have found lazy river commuting times to be vastly faster than that of the monorail. i'll be sure to take your thoughts into consideration thought. thank you for your input and remember "todays lazy river is tomorrow's future".

'fraid Daris will have to choose between lasers/bubbles and heat. The money just isn't there.
Also, disinfectant/chemicals budget will be less if water is cold. BUDGET SAVINGS!!!!
Freezing cold, under treated lazy river/ hepatitis river it is!
-
sounds extremely KSTATEO
-
I support the monorail if there's a stop by the planned 180' Weird Robert Colossus being planned for that open space in front of Anderson.
35' bronze foam finger. The final step in making KSU the elite of the elite.

From what this all sounds like, you might be able to get with the City of Manhattan and try to get this thing rolling as a "stormwater system rehabilitation" project.

Prolly bundle that in with the NBAF

I can't believe I'm typing this, but I agree with Daris.
Tucks, emawrs, blacks, whites, males, females (and even Mexicans), lend your ear:
It would be a colossal mistake to dismiss out of hand the dream of the lazy river that we have all worked so hard to achieve. Supposedly MHK is due to receive federal megafunds to be used at our discretion. Previously, my understanding was that those funds were to be used for transporting seniors to their jobs at Wal Mart and stuff. I am here to say that a solution* may exist which would satisfy everybody's needs and desires. But we have to work together and think rationally. Let's focus on our shared goal to float down lazy rivers whenever we please and work on our other wants later.
HEAR THIS PLEA: Do not abandon the Lazy River.
*not involving a monorail
