Title: ku scoreboard pics?
Post by: catsdo on October 17, 2010, 01:23:38 PM
Anyone got any good scoreboard pics from the ku game?  Preferably one with a ku fan crying in front of it or something.

I dont know what is worse... KU having an outdoor track in their football stadium OR Iowa State not having an outdoor track period. I'd go with KU. Ames High and Drake works just fine; AD money doesn't need to be used on a facility used only for Iowa State track.

That reminds me of Lewis Field at FHSU, except we have a nicer track.  Crowd and score are 'bout the same though.

I saw that group from the K-State section.  ku did their best to keep K-Staters out by charging $90 tickets and giving ku fans freebies.  I hope it's worth losing so much money.  You could tell at the end that there were still hundreds of K-State fans sitting around the stadium   :kstatriot:

We have an indoor track; our weather just sucks during outdoor season. It isnt like track is a huge priority... like a new jumbotron for instance.

We have a 47 million dollar budget, and last I heard (from John Currie interview on 810WHB) that K-State's is only 44 million.

Yea, in 2000 we had a choice between wrestling and baseball and wrestling was the unanimous choice (7k fans/match vs 500 fans/game)

So we don't have baseball because of that. Is Equestrian NCAA sanctioned and funded by the AD?

I remember precisely that he said $44 mil on 810WHB when I was in Kansas City. He must have misunderestimated his own department. Amateur.

Well, the financial report he sent in the late summer said it was over $47 million, $44 million was last years budget.

Where are you at now? I'm curious if the huge increases in AD budgets are all inflation or if we are actually improving financially.

don't turn this into a pissing contest, it's a rough ridin' $300 track.  k-state has like 19 of them.

It meant our basketball teams could still train while our arena experienced a natural disaster. That's what it got us.
