Anyone got any good scoreboard pics from the ku game? Preferably one with a ku fan crying in front of it or something.
-
How about one with the track.....I couldn't even stand to stay to the end of that massacre..

fatty texted me a pretty good one but it didn't include the track
-
What a dump that stadium is. It's embarrassing for the state.
-
Their new video board is pretty nice. Iowa State will have one very similar by next season!!

I dont know what is worse... KU having an outdoor track in their football stadium OR Iowa State not having an outdoor track period. I'd go with KU. Ames High and Drake works just fine; AD money doesn't need to be used on a facility used only for Iowa State track.

That reminds me of Lewis Field at FHSU, except we have a nicer track. Crowd and score are 'bout the same though.

Never noticed the chain link fence before. They must store livestock there in the winter? :dunno:

how broke are you guys? i think you could build a track for roughly $300 and a trash bag filled with aluminum cans (from Michigan).

Was in that group of like 30 in the middle of that picture of EMAWs :lynchmob: was a grand time in the Perkins Family Zone....shoulda re-named it LHC Bill Snyder Family Zone
-
I saw that group from the K-State section. ku did their best to keep K-Staters out by charging $90 tickets and giving ku fans freebies. I hope it's worth losing so much money. You could tell at the end that there were still hundreds of K-State fans sitting around the stadium :kstatriot:

We have an indoor track; our weather just sucks during outdoor season. It isnt like track is a huge priority... like a new jumbotron for instance.

We have a 47 million dollar budget, and last I heard (from John Currie interview on 810WHB) that K-State's is only 44 million.

We don't have NCAA wrestling, FWIW

Yea, in 2000 we had a choice between wrestling and baseball and wrestling was the unanimous choice (7k fans/match vs 500 fans/game)
So we don't have baseball because of that. Is Equestrian NCAA sanctioned and funded by the AD?
-
K-State's budget is over $47 million . . . unless John just implemented a massive budget cut and didn't tell anyone.
-
Iowa State needs a bigger athletic budget to cover all the flood insurance.

I remember precisely that he said $44 mil on 810WHB when I was in Kansas City. He must have misunderestimated his own department. Amateur.

Well, the financial report he sent in the late summer said it was over $47 million, $44 million was last years budget.

Where are you at now? I'm curious if the huge increases in AD budgets are all inflation or if we are actually improving financially.

don't turn this into a pissing contest, it's a rough ridin' $300 track. k-state has like 19 of them.

See, thats the thing, we've actually had a practice facility for the last 2 years...

For the record, I would gladly give up our outdoor track if it would get our basketball facility built one week earlier

It meant our basketball teams could still train while our arena experienced a natural disaster. That's what it got us.

The current track and field facility has deteriorated beyond repair, and does not meet requirements to host Big 12 Conference championships, the university said.
Soccer matches would be moved out of a flood plain. They are now held at a facility adjacent to Lied Recreation Center, which flooded in August.
You guys really like to milk every drop out of your stuff, don't you?
