11/22 189 yards 1 TD 1 INT  7 carries for 10 yards 1 TD    AND A WIN

If you hold this one high, you are going to have to carry the next one too no matter how bad it smells.

I'm sure that you will agree that the benchmark for CCQ should be the performance of a first round draft pick against the next defense he will see

Jake Locker 4/20 71 YDS  1TD 2 INT

This is totally going to be a talking point.

Read directly above your post in this string.  It already is.  Team CCQ has this crap printed off and posted on the wall.  Daris already emailed this line to CCQ for inspiration.

Goddamn. Daris is a rough ridin' dynamo. I bet he's got that crap laminated on pleasantly colored paper, too.

Yes, 1 TD running and 1 TD throwing is a good game for CCQ.

A good game for queso is a ho-hum day for an actual D1A QB... soooo, he still played like $h!t. Dude had what 4 plays that gave us some kind of production? He sucks donkey dicks.

The question was did Carson have a good game, not did he play as well as some other QB.  Don't be such a dumbass.

So playing out of his mind and looking like a legit BCS QB would have only been a "good game?"  Don't be such a dumbass.

Look Hemms, is it alright if I call you that?  Thanks.  Hemms, if you're waiting for CCQ to be a phenomenal player to be happy, you are going de a depressed sonuvabitch by the end of the season.  If you are waiting for Snyder to bench him, you are going to be a depressed sonuvabitch.  If you think we have a better QB hidden somewhere, you are a delusional sonuvabitch.

Its Carsy's team and its not changing anytime soon.  Hop aboard and enjoy the ride Hemms!

this argument makes no sense.  hes the reason we were so terrible up until the 4th quarter today.  also do we win 3 games with lamur at qb?  hes terrible, our other qb's are terrible.

it seems clear that for the rest of the year we will have to set up the run by proving we can actually throw the football.

i suppose i should have said when we play a team with a decent defense

Your argument makes no sense. In fact, I have no idea what you are trying to argue. Coffman has started 4 games. We are 4-0. We won this game because of Coffman's 4th quarter performance and in spite of DT's shitty day.

Carson Coffman, QB, Kansas State: If you're the difference in a close win, you're going to earn a helmet sticker. Carson Coffman, that means you. The maligned senior quarterback  spearheaded a lengthy 13-play, 67-yard drive capped by his go-ahead, 7-yard rushing touchdown in the final minute of Kansas State's 17-13 win  over Central Florida. Coffman completed a pair of third-down passes, including an 18-yarder on 3rd-and-10 to keep the drive alive. The win means the Wildcats are 4-0 for the first time since 2003.

I don't have a problem with this.

It seems, however, that there are probably at least three other players on this team that could play qb with less heart and make plays both when we do and when we don't need it.

Queso once again proves his haters wrong.  It doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to be.

He had a good fourth quarter and hit a few key passes when it counted.  Gotta give him credit for that.

Would have liked to see that kind of production in the first three quarters, but whatever.

Isn't it hilarious how low our standards/expectations are for the QB position?

I'm content if the QB play isn't so bad that I want to jab at my eyes with a fork.

If the fourth quarter wouldn't have happened, I may have done that.  But Carson saved the day.

I know. My Coffman hate was at cat-scratch fever pitch at halftime. But when the guy actually completes 3 passes to wide open receivers, we completely forgive him.

couple of those could have been completed by any kid who has ever been associated with the game of football.   No props for a shitty player doing his job every once in a while.

I'm just happy when he does it. (See prior reference to hilariously low expectations)

Bet you three yards would rather have Garret Gilbert.  I just watched ASU blow it against a top 5 team because Stephen Threet looked good, passed for a million yards, ran well, but threw 63 interceptions.  If today taught us anything it should have been that having a game manager at QB is just fine.  He was nails when he had to be.  The TD run was his 3rd best play of that drive.  The first down pass to Brod was rough ridin' fantastic.  He's pretty damn average and makes plays when needed, he shares the backfield with an all world RB, its fine.

Things I would like to see from Carson:  Not closing his eyes and chucking the football 30 yards down field into double/triple coverage.

He has 2 int's in 4 games.  You and your brother in hickdom "TOMMY" need to stop the season long tantrum.  Jordan Webb is the only Big 12 starter with less INTs, but of course Webb has started 1 less game.

Like I said, our expectations for the QB position are hilariously low. He played so bad for the first 3 quarters, he literally sparked a discussion in the press box over whether he was the worst QB in all of D1 football. Then he hits two wide open receivers and puts together one good drive, and he's one of the best QBs in the conference.  :dunno:

not the best qb by any means but dammit the kid plays with heart and makes plays when we need it. Support cc14

I don't have a problem with this.

It seems, however, that there are probably at least three other players on this team that could play qb with less heart and make plays both when we do and when we don't need it.

We don't have anyone who is better than CCQ.  IT is best to accept this and to move on.

Carson is a terrible quarterback (for the most part).

But, when he has had to make plays to win games for us this season, he has done so.  Even the most ardent CCQ hater has to give the dude some credit for that fact.

Yes, he looks like a frail little special needs child.  Yes, he makes multiple extemely Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) plays a game that leaves you saying to yourself, "This dumbass wouldn't start for Washburn".  Yes, LHC Bill Snyder should be shot for not addressing the recruiting position in two classes, leaving us to trot this guy on the field.

But, then you look at the record and we're 4-0 and 1-0 in conference against three pretty fracking decent teams that all went to bowl games last season and Carson has made big plays in each of those close games when called upon.

Dude's not going to win any beauty contests, but he's the best we've got and he's not going anywhere.

In closing, get on the CCQ train and stop being a bitch.

So you acknowledge that no one said Coffman was the best anything, cool glad we agree.

Secondly if Gilbert is one of the best QB's in the conference what does that make Carson?  Carson has more TD passes, yes more, less interceptions, more rushing yards, and more rushing TD's and a passer rating 28 points higher.  Like I said any objective standard proves you to be a complete idiot.

You're right about Gilbert, the standard for good QB's is to have more turnovers than td's they are responsible for a quarter into the season.  Dude has 4 touchdowns and 6 turnovers.  That's good for 1 TD a game, you're right, outstanding QB.  What standard are you using here to judge these two guys?  Does it include ignoring their performance against the same opponent?

Woah. Don't lump me that crowd.

In three games, Coffman's consistently done three things:

-Start slow
-Commit a bad TO (two of which became TDs)
-Lead game-winning 4th quarter drives

He gets credit for all three IMO.

Yes.

Carson is bad, but I'd still take him over Meier, Webb, or Evridge, all incredible Snyder quarterback losers that would rather piss golden, ropy, braids of urine down their legs than put their team on their shoulders and instrument a drive to win a meaningful game at any point in their shitty careers.

Jason Smargeso . . . was 8 times the athlete Carsy Coffman could have ever dreamed of being.  It was all in his head.  The rest all had intangibles that Carsy doesn't have.   Adam Helm only played because of Snyder head games or injury . . . let me know when you find where Adam Helm started 4 straight games and was named the starter prior to the first game of the season.   In addition, Helm saved our asses at Iowa State.    But Carsy's first half yesterday was one of the worst I've ever seen from any QB at K-State.    But we won . . . as absurd as it is, and I'll take it.

I saw guys like Randy Williams, and Todd Elder start football games at QB for K-State.
