if sams doesn't play every snap until we are up by 50, then i just won't know what to think. jesus christ this byu dude is shredding them.
-
Bill defies logic.
-
sams will probably get 5-10 snaps
-
yeah even I'm smart enough to see this. your move bill
-
Mack is smart enough too which is why Bill will play waters the whole game to catch Mack off guard.
-
@kbohls
Taysom Hill is the Collin Klein of 2013 or this Texas defense has not improved a bit.
-
lol skycat

Lol.
Which is more probable?
-
this is the most pathetic effort I've ever seen.
since 2012. eff Manny Diaz. eff Mack Brown.
-

shag won't even stay online for more than 25 seconds so i can't even read the meltdown :shakesfist:

Get in line. I need some venting to do.
-
I particularly enjoyed how the Texas DL players were fighting before the snap and then watched as they gave up another 40 yd run.
-
I'm here for you mnlh10
-
yeah, i want texas to win every game except the kansas state university fighting cats game. need a big rally here.
-
I'm here for you mnlh10
Thank you
I feel cold right now, and need to be held after that pathetic third down play to end the third quarter
-
Almost 500 yards rushing. :horrorsurprise:
-
Thanks for passing when you have two guys averaging 17 yards a carry
-
Guy on twitter said previous rushing yrds record allowed by texas was like 450 or something and that byu had lik 434 in the third qrt.
-
So glad the Longhorn Network is on Cox. Enjoying this game very much. :drink:
-
BYU's D-line is absolutely controlling this game. Its not even fair.
-
Mack is done. The end of LHC Bill Snyder BFF. Sad.
-

Hopefully his departure is as dignified as he deserves.
-
BYU now over 500 yards on the ground. :)
-
So glad the Longhorn Network is on Cox. Enjoying this game very much. :drink:
The game is on espn2
-
herp derp time.
-
Crazy. In 2011 Texas had a top 10 rush defense. Last year #90. And now...
-
So glad the Longhorn Network is on Cox. Enjoying this game very much. :drink:
The game is on espn2
Correct. Just having trouble with that channel tonight...that's why I'm glad Cox also carries LN. :)
-
derp
-
:frown:
-
At this point I have nothing to do but LOL. Texas drops from 15 all the way out of the rankings this week. Probably won't even receive votes.
-
Other years I would be all
This year I'm all  :dubious:
TSC, and all.
Still, just a little
-
Yeah, the conference sucks, but it will still be a very fun year.
-
Yeah, the conference sucks, but it will still be a very fun year.
it will be fun BECAUSE the conf sucks.
-
I mean if Baylor could somehow collapse (they won't) we could conceivably win this shitshow. Maybe. Who the hell knows. Everybody's terrible. If we did win the Dr. Pepper I hope we would just decline the trophy on principle. :flush:
-
I keep thinking that Texas will run out of ways to suck. They just keep finding more ways!
-
derp had the most time he ever had to sit and survey the field....and threw the ball where 2 BYU defenders had a clear shot at pick. Idiot
-
i have no confidence in baylor doing anything for a full season.
-
Will Texas go after art briles? Will they try to hire him by week 4?
-

Briles w/Sharp at UT would be terrifying.

It would be glorious. We are going to have to start playing our best players and the whole team is going to have to get a whole lot better if we are going to have any chance of making it happen, though.

We should beat Texas no problem. Baylor looks like they are about 100x better than us, though.

Unfortunately, the Texas showing tonight will probably relegate our game in Austin to a morning kickoff. :shakesfist:

Good. The more lethargic they are the better. Also, the crowds are generally less rowdy.

if we somehow did that we should just get massive replicas of the trophies made and put them on top of the wsc. or better yet just make the new vanier just a giant b12 champ trophy.

See your point, but it seems the Cats are always a bit off for those a.m. games. That said, Mack probably doesn't have a curfew for the Horns...discipline is obviously lacking in that program. So maybe we'll be OK.
-
:frown: Going to UT game and def. do not want an early kickoff. Sick of this.

So many Texas fans in the Dakoters. Some Bison fans on I-29 gave me a horns up sign last weekend. Seems pretty bandwagon-y.
Go Clones. :bawl:

Without looking, I can only remember two morning games from last year...Miami and KU...50 some points on the Horns 11am kickoff on FX...would take.

Ya. It's so obviously that Sams rulez that I halfway think this is all a giant scheme before conference play.

Mack just fired Manny Diaz.

:horrorsurprise: This is bad news for us. Was hoping he could hang on long enough to get completely gashed by Sams.

Greg Robinson will probably suck too

In his 2 years at Michigan, he was 9th and 11th in the big 10.

All you have to do is show up. Sams should have a field day. A little bit of a silver lining is that Manny Diaz was just fired, and Greg Robinson is the replacement.
Wont matter in the scheme of things until the head of the snake is cut off
-
Nick Wright pointed out that he was the DC for the Chiefs the year that they had like, the worst defense in the history of the NFL.
Greg Robinson was the DC anywhere they had the worst defense ever. Diaz will push him for that spot at Texas, but Robinson can't leave a program without putting his crap stain mark on it.

CTR tickets on StubHub have dropped about $20 in the last couple days. I expect them to continue plummeting.
BTW, if you're curious about going and want to sit in the purple sections, the visiting fans sit in sections 120-123 and then one lowly guy on the lower level, Section 32.

After hearing the BYU stats, it sounds like Waters could run all over UT. I hope Sams plays every snap though.
-
Thing is had Texas actually gone with the suggested game plan from Robinson they probably would have been right in that game and won. It was a complete clownsuiting of the Texas defense.

Mack apparently called an emergency meeting last night with the higher ups. He is done after this year regardless. But I think he told them to start looking for a new coach.
According to Greg Robinson this is the most destraut and emotional Mack has been over a loss while at Texas because he legitametly thought he could win it all this year

Hope Greg is HCIW.

Texas hiring Greg Robinson might be the best thing ever....
That guy is terrible in all aspects in football. It's amazing how clowns like him somehow still manage to get jobs after a long extensive history that he just not very good at all.....

Guys, can we divert goEMAW's emense FIRE BILL/oscar billboard fund to putting up a SAVE MACK billboard? I mean, we aren't using it right now and could prob pay for it off the funds interest from Q2 earnings anyway.

Who does Texas hire? Saban?

Saban would completely own the conference every year there. Would have an NC with in three yrs. Maybe less.

Who does Texas hire? Saban?
art briles
Briles and Patterson seem to be the front runners if the big shots(saban/harbaugh etc) say no. Charlie strong is getting some love too.
Also some rumors about gruden but I don't think TX needs to take a risk on a guy out of the game so long, briles or Patterson would win quickly at UT.

I doubt they could get Saban. A Texas coaching search could be pretty fun to watch.

Gruden is not a risk. That guy would come in and out-Saban Saban in the college football world. I can't even imagine the amount of success he would have. It's literally too much to even imagine.

That's debateable. When you can not win your conference and get a second chance to play the team that already beat you this time in the national championship game, that's a pretty good job. Like I said debateable, so even going with the Texas job is better argument, it's not that much better that would cause you to jump ship from Alabama. Whatever Texas offered, Alabama would match. Saban isn't going to Texas.

I would love to see Texas go and hire Mike Leach.

Maybe my opinion is bias given I don't know a lot about the state of Alabama. That said, Texas is growing faster than any other state in the nation, has an already huge pop, has a lot of money, and a large portion of that population would do whatever they could to their children to make them good at football. Other than the growth thing, this may be applicable to Alabama too.
Alabama does have what is viewed as the better conference and is viewed as the pinnacle of athletics right now, but Texas is primed to match that quickly if someone like Saban took over, imo.

From a recruiting standpoint, Texas and Alabama are virtually equal. Both schools can have pretty much anyone they want and are only limited by the coaching staff's ability to evaluate talent. Texas is a better job because of the money and the prestige. I'm not sure if that is enough to pull somebody away from a job where he is already winning the national championship just about every year.
-
FWIW, Bear Bryant is more popular than that old Texas coach I can't recall. Darrel K Royal?

Saban leaving Bama for Texas is the equivalent of Frank leaving for S. Carolina.

What does Texas Football has that Alabama Football doesn't? I can think of a lot of things that Alabama Football has that Texas Football doesn't.
Alabama recruits Florida and the entire south the way Texas recruits Texas and Oklahoma. Alabama and UT are not recruiting equals. Texas doesn't have the clout in Florida the way Alabama does in Texas.

Yeah, but a lot of guys don't want to deal with the LHN stuff. They don't want open practices, they don't want all of the coach's corner type shows, etc.
Nick Saban would walk into the LHN studios on Day 1 with a bat, go HAM on it Joe Pesci style, and then never walk back in there.
You have to find a good coach that's comfortable in front of a camera. That's why the Gruden idea is really intriguing.

Exactly
-
Alabama has 15 National Championships under 5 coaches, UT has 4 under 2

I would like UT to make a run at Sumlin. Aggie would lose what is left of their minds

Does anyone do less with more than Texas?

Fair enough. Maybe I am not being smart here, but Alabama type production is what I would expect out of a texas with a Saban.
-
UT has unmatched resources in cfb (I mean Austin vs Ttown, Lolz) but winning and losing just doesn't matter as much in Austin as it does in Tuscaloosa. I still don't think Mack is out until they have a new AD.

Gruden will not return to coaching. He's got a great gig with the mothership and they give him more money every time his name is brought up for a head coaching spot

About half of those are bogus Helms-style titles. Then again half of 15 is still a shitload of real Natty's.

Not sure what you'd consider real and bogus when it comes to cfb titles since they are all awarded, but Alabama has 10 national championships awarded by the AP and or the UPI. Both Alabama and UT hav been awarded national championships that they don't recognize.

A loss to KSU, especially if it’s in embarrassing fashion will create a level of pressure Mack’s never seen. He’ll get it from places he always viewed as friends of the program and I suspect he’ll start getting it from Deloss as well. Once that happens, if it hasn’t already, I think Mack bows out. The key might be Deloss just going to Mack and saying, “it’s time”.
Again, if KSU wins I doubt Mack wants to come back in the face of all the negativity. He feeds off of pats on the back. He’s not getting that anymore. In fact, I haven’t seen this much negative sentiment since Mackovic was about to be fired. The people with the most influence are sick of the results and it’s coming from all different angles. So yeah, I think we’ll be talking about Mack retiring around the banquet weekend if KSU goes like most think it will go. If Mack doesn’t retire in that scenario, then Deloss may be looking for a job as well. He’s almost as talked about as Mack is nowadays.
Will Bill be the executioner? :ohno:
With that being from a year ago I can only imagine what it is like now.

Well, I'm convinced.

2. Is there a typo in your sentence, everyone claims AP titles as national titles because that's the final poll used to award them.

No doubt they really want the OU W, but let's be real. Even though they all hate losing to OU, they can rationalize it. They can't wrap their head around why they continually lose to us yet have accepted it as some life-just-isnt-fair-and-God-works-in-mysterious-ways thing. They would kill to own us and split .500 with Bob, and this is what they should be doing.

#2 is exactly my point. Theres plenty of years that theres more than 1 national championship before 1995. So 15 isn't really that impressive.

I just don't think Texas has enough talent to beat us. Mack is a fantastic in-game coach, but he just isn't good enough to beat LHC Bill Snyder with his pud players. Now, Bob Stoops has shown a vulnerability to Mack in the past, and I could see Mack pulling the upset against them because the talent gap just isn't quite as large.

Not sure if serious
While KSU is beating Texas by a couple scores..Bob Stoops is beating Texas by 50...and it'll likely happen this year too.

Bill understands that he controls Mack's fate with this game. If he plays Sams the whole game we likely win by 30+, Mack gets fired at some point during the season which will lead to his inevitable divorce. Then comes alcoholism and bankruptcy and next thing you know, Mack is living on the streets of Waco while Art Briles and Baylor are celebrating another B12 championship.

Mack has a much better winning percentage against Stoops than he does Kansas State. I mean Bill beat Mack a few years ago and decided to have the grace to only throw 6 passes. You just can't win like that unless you are better at OL, DL, LB, S, CB, RB, QB, TE, FB, P, K, and LS. Bill has been recruiting a monster up here in Manhattan, and it's no surprise that Mack just can't compensate with the shitty talent he has to work with.

Dear Bill,
I just wanted to send you a note telling you well your team played Saturday night in Austin. They are always tremendously coached and played as hard as any team in the country. That is a credit to you. There was time around here when a win over Kansas State did not excite people as it was expected. You changed that dramatically over the last ten years (I've got all your letters to prove it ha ha:) ). Best of luck to you and the Wildcats for the rest of 2013 and I hope to see you in Manhattan next year.
Sincerely,
Mack

Texas seems to think they have a shot.
Key point in article: A few days after Alabama won the 2013 national championship, a University of Texas regent and a former regent talked with Nick Saban's agent about the possibility of the Crimson Tide coach replacing Longhorns coach Mack Brown, The Associated Press has learned.

Would be enjoyable. But if anybody thinks Bama wouldn't double his salary to keep him, said person is bonkers.
Now, if UT wanted to pay him 100mil per year and make him the highest paid figure in all of sports history, then yeah, they'll prob snag him.
Hyperbole aside, I don't think he steps down from the SEC. And if were talking 5mil more per year, while crazy high, I still see a football crazy school like Bama not even blinking at that.

Eureka!!! It is time for Saban to journey on to the next level.....
Not the NFL.... Coaching 2 BCS Conference teams from his home computer.
Its Great for the Big Twizzelve and the SECede Conferences.
The greatest thing is that Texas and Alabama can each pay him 4.5 million and save a bundle on this 10 million dolllar coaching salary idea. :Woohoo:
The only slight problem is when they are both playing in the National playoffs every year :dunno:

You're such a bitch all the time.
Nut up, you're from Kansas State.
As it stands now Snyder has scoreboard over you because im sure you were being all knowing and cool and calling for his head back in 09. .
we should have fired him in 09, dumbass
Reason being?
I understand a lot people's age concerns but I do know that Mr. Snyder is a lot more competent and useful than what Bowden and Paterno were at their ages.

I didn't know this, but Texas ranks 113th and 94th in opponent kickoff returns, respectively.
That doesn't bode well for them against us.

Mack really should just do what NDSU did and not kick the ball deep.

Texas ha played teams that are shitloads better than teams we have played. People seem to not notice that.

I didn't know this, but we are #1 in yards per punt return this year.
I'd say we have a pretty solid special teams advantage, here.

We would be shitloads better than the teams we have played if Bill would just get out of the way and let the best players play.

I'm still bothered that Diles sat and wasted away on the bench for probably 65% of the snaps his first year. This trend seems to be continuing :buh-bye:

Yes, kick it to Nemechek each time. That dude should seriously just pitch it back to TLBL or TT.

I hope we lose

Back to the Saban to Texas thing, Texas is going to give up before Alabama does. Texas knows they can pick up whoever they want, I'm not sure if Alabama believes they can, whether that's true or not. I'm pretty sure the reason this is getting out now is because Texas wants everyone to know they're in the market and willing to pay whatever it takes.
But yeah, no chance Saban leaves.

the fact that saban is out saying there is no chance right now because he's too old to move again confirms that saban will move whenever they tell him to. if he wouldn't he'd be playing it up with "no comment"s all day err'day.

Yep.
"I guess I have to say it," Saban said. "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach."
-
Not going to move....happy here....so much left to accomplish
All coach speak for "up the rough ridin' offer".

Mack (or his coaches) likely have egos way too large for that.
-
Yeah. Can't imagine on ABC evening broadcast Texas intentionally avoiding something. very untexas'ey.
-
Working tomorrow. If everyone could avoid posting about the game until late tomorrow evening when I catch it on DVR, I would appreciate it

Yeah. It's not going to happen. Mack should lose the ego, too. His team sucks. That's not going to happen, either. Lockett and/or Thompson are going to have a huge night returning kicks and punts.

Seems dangerous to let the real life longhorn mascot be 2 inches from the back of the endzone.

So stupid. We haven't played a LB at running back in years
-
The drawing/art is actually very good.
Fun
-
Whoever he is he's very tall. Hope he doesn't hit his head on the goalpost :ohno:
-
I want to know why our player ran over the Texas player's back like that. Or why the Texas player attempted to make an open field tackle at the goal line with his back turned. Very strange.
-
Flea Flicker on the first play. WHO'S IN?
-
Obviously our linebacker has just intercepted the ball and has decided to chase down the Longhorns' center on his way to the endzone as opposed to just running around him.
-
FAKE PUNT FROM OUR OWN 9 YARDLINE! You guys wanna hop on board?
-

Well, we know the K-State player is Dakorey Johnson, so it must be a pick 6. I don't know who #50 is from Texas, but I'm guessing he's an offensive lineman, and the artist must think that he is a total puss who doesn't like contact.
-
The Texas player also has grass stains on his knees.
-
Needs more blood on the lower back of the Texas player from those death spikes IMO.
-
David Ash is starting.

Texas is so dumb!!! I bet he doesn't make it through the game.

Is anyone else going for a loss so that we can force Snyder out? :crossfingers:

Having a concussion won't limit him from turning and handing off.

So anyone heard that Ash is starting?
After missing last game with a concussion....
In fact he couldnt even go to the game last week because the bright lights gave him headaches....
Seems like a great idea mack, maybe a couple QB draws to start the game off?

Alex Loeb who hosts the afternoon show on 104.9 in Austin with Sean Adams was saying how there was the Wallace Hall reaching out to Saban's agent story...then a few weeks ago there were reports that were pretty detailed about Terry Saban househunting in Austin, and that the report had a realtor's name and dollar figures and neighborhoods...and that he did some digging with people he trusts and that the report was completely true.
