"If you're the #1 overall seed - you should have the easiest road. Obviously last year with the bracket Kansas was in, they had the hardest." :users:

Yeah, UNI was really rough ridin' good.

if sheron hadn't been so fat he might have made it there in time.
-
Yeah, UNI was really effing good.
They won 30 games and the MVC, which is pretty effing good. I don't think it's even debatable whether KU had the hardest region last year, with teams like Michigan State and Tennessee both making the Elite Eight.

Just depends on the year. I've seen them get up to three teams in the tournament before.

why would this be a talking point? they didn't make it to the actual good teams in the league. it could have been the rest of the number one seeds crammed in their bracket and it wouldn't make sense because they didn't make it far enough to play the hard teams in the bracket.

KU was their only quality win all year.

THIS should have never happened - Farokhmanesh should have had been doubled at a minimum - dude was SMOKIN' hot. I know it was pretty chatoic at the end, but still.
That photo is incredible BTW

Not that it matters, but I don't get your point. Didn't two teams make it to the elite 8 out of every region?
Matter of fact, I think Tenn and MSU were 2 of the 3 lowest-ranked teams in the elite 8. I'm puzzled.

Made the top 3 in funniest.

K-State had the hardest region, actually looking back it looks like KU had the easiest region by far.
FYI - Michigan State and Tennessee both suck

That's  cuz there were ku fans sitting around me in OKC yelling "Missouri Valley" early in the game making fun of the pirates. They obviously are the only lbbiq fans ku has...no stickers tho.

I also saw them get their (MVC) asses smacked around this year in bracket busters.

the uni game was a part of the greatest double header I have ever seen or will see

Weird, two teams from your regional made the Elite Eight!!!! :runaway:

its hard to describe how fun it was being in that arena.
-
Of all the 1 seeds, Syracuse had the toughest bracket. National championship runner-up Butler as a 5 seed. You really can't say what the toughest path for a 1 seed is before the sweet 16 because none of them have to play anybody good before they get there.
-
I don't think it's even debatable whether KU had the hardest region last year, with teams like Michigan State and Tennessee both making the Elite Eight.
Not that it matters, but I don't get your point. Didn't two teams make it to the elite 8 out of every region?
Matter of fact, I think Tenn and MSU were 2 of the 3 lowest-ranked teams in the elite 8. I'm puzzled.
What doesn't make sense? When the #5 and #6 seeds in your region are good enough to make it to the Final Four, you've got a deeply talented bracket. The Midwest region also had the #1 overall seed in Kansas, and arguably the #2 overall seed in Ohio State. It was the toughest region by far.
-
30 wins or not, KU had no business losing to UNI.
No, they didn't, but I do find it amusing that a fanbase whose team lost to Butler is making fun of mid-majors.

one) No it wasn't.
two) Irrelevant if you get knocked out in the first weekend.

one) very debatable, but it in fact it was not the toughest bracket. In particular the bottom half was exceedingly weak.
two) Irrelevant

If we would have lost to Xavier it would have been #6 and #5 in the elite 8. You're being a dumbass.

It is so hilarious to me that somebody is debating that a bracket that their team got knocked of in the second round was the best in the tourny last year....your team didn't get to the part of the bracket that included the good teams you are harping on.....it's like, wow, people think things like this.
-
And as SD said, you didn't even get to the tougher teams. Even if UNI was underrated, you should be able to beat a 7 seed. Hell, if you want to be Champs, you'll prob have to beat someone whos maybe even a 6 seed or higher :ohno:

Cats in that regional, they make the final four. It's not even debatable (so I expect this to be the end of this thread).

Northern Iowa was a good team, steve. I don't know why you don't understand that. KU was a really good team as well... they just had an off-shooting night in a tourney that's single elimination. It's the nature of the NCAA tournament.

No, they lost to Michigan State, who went to back-to-back Final Four's.

And then MSU lost to Butler who then lost to Duke, making Duke's regional the toughest in the tournament. Problem solved.
Now let's break down another tournament regional from the past. Hmmm...how about the '89 Midwest? GO.

All I'm saying is that the hardest regional is usually the one with the best team. The best team won the championship. I will disagree with anyone that doesn't think that way, not just ku fans. Please don't flatter yourself.
