The thing that is the most frustrating is that this magical first season where we won the title gets trotted out like it's proof that Oscar can lead us to the promised land. We went 0-3 against KU and lost our first tournament game. That's still not getting it done.

I've always said I don't give a crap about NCAA tournament performance, at least when it comes to evaluating the overall performance of a coach and program.

Currie didn't think 4 out of 5 yrs of NCAA's and 5 post seasons, no losing records, an E8 run, and a NCAA tourney win every NCAA appearance was good enough to make reasonable efforts to keep that coach.

The years we don't go to the NCAA, we should be bitching about bubbles and east cost bias. We should be that close, rather than being super shitty and knowing weeks before that there is no way we get selected. The latter is a fireable offense, imo.

the whole discussion is pointless, btw. no one gives a crap if we've been bad enough that it'd be fair to poor webersie if we run his ass. the issue is that the overwhelmingly majority of kstate fans would prefer for underwood to be the kstate mbball coach. it's about underwood, not weber.

I agree, if Weber was fired tomorrow, I don't think there would be much explanation needed from Currie, and the national perception would be that it was justified -- the reaction to Stanford's coach firing proves that.

Hypothetically, what if Currie preferred someone like Buzz Williams to Underwood? Or some other coach that has won at P5 level?
