People seem to be disproportionately and shamelessly overtly sexist about preferring baby boys to baby girls. It's weird.

Not knowing and being the first to announce when my son was born was probably the greatest feeling I have ever had.
we found out with both but i almost broke my leg from jumping when we found out we were having a boy. pretty great feeling

would you have been bummed out if you were having a girl?
not bummed out, but it meant id be having a third kid which i wasnt planning on.  i had a girl first and having a boy with my second kid meant i was done with kids. we always wanted one of each close in age so it worked out great.

But who would carry on kslim's legacy and wear his coat-of-arms into battle and lord over his tenants in the county?

I think it may have something to do with the fear of when they start dating maybe? which is still really sexist and stupid.

I'm afraid I can't agree. But, hey, that's what makes this country great sometimes.

I hate the whole rough housing thing. Would much rather have all girls and skip the wrestling, getting hit in the nuts, etc. phase.

Have taken more nut-shots from having a kid sitting in the shopping cart than from rough-housing.

Optimal nut-kicking level right there.

you know what was a frustrating thing as a parent of a little kid. those bibs that you have to put on them when they are eating all have stupid ridiculous sayings like "zero to tantrum in six seconds" or "i'm the boss". it's like hey dork bib makers, can you just make a plain blue one or maybe just a grey one with no stupid writing or monster trucks. i mean god forbid you just give me something plain to put on my child so i don't look like a complete idiot who thinks those bibs are funny or something.

they have plain ones.

barely

Actually we saw a midwife.  She and the nurses has no idea what the sex was.  Outside of one time, the gals that did the sonograms would avoid looking so they wouldn't accidentally tell us the sex.  I had no idea what I was having, I just knew that I would love the crap out of the kid.  It was an amazing experience to be the one to announce to the room that it was a boy (I was expecting a girl the entire pregnancy and probably owe the kid some therapy sessions).

I have nothing against finding our early.  We might do it on child #2 to avoid any unintentional negative emotions my wife might have after labor if we have a 2nd boy (this is a real thing by the way).
