Perception around here is that SEC > BigXII > big 10
That said,
Wisconsin to Arkansas is a lateral (maybe backward) move.
OSU to Tennessee is a promotion.
weird.
as absolutely weird as it sounds, i heard some wisconsin people talking last week and they didn't like bielema. they were all, well he better beat nebraska or i want him gone. i was shocked. maybe bielema was actually feeling some heat and was like screw this, i'm out if i get a really good offer somewhere else. he was only .500 in league this year and finished behind ohio st and penn st in his division.
This is exactly what happened, he took a lot of heat for this season, fired his OL coach after 3 games and had his agent put out feelers for other jobs.
Wisky fans are happy, everyone in the big 10 considers Bielema to be an average (at best) coach who has piggybacked off of Alvarez's program/ success. Everyone brings up the 3 Rose Bowls but that was more a function of UofM, OSU, and PSU all dealing with program crippling events over the last few seasons.
Plus, they're losing a lot and are probably going to struggle next season, so he more than likely figured now was the time to jump. I think Wisconsin fans are hoping to get Chryst back from Pitt, he was the engineer of that offense in the first place.
