I'm fairly certain this has been b talked about before, but I'm bored right now so I'm going to brainstorm a bit. Say we expand to 12 with someone like UConn and some other only moderately gross school farther east (we'll go ahead and use Cincy for this exercise). A "North" Division of 'cats, 'hawks, 'clones, 'eers, 'skies, and 'kats seems pretty woof and I feel like there's a pretty good chance we'd have quite a few years where barely play in Texas at all.
So what's everyone's thoughts on 3 team pods? For example:
East- WVU, Cincy, UConn
North- KSU, KU, ISU
Central- OU, OSU, TCU
South- UT, Baylor, TTU
Each team plays the other two from their pod every year, plus a home and away out of each of the other pods. The only major rivalry that gets broken up is the RRR(and the CTR but since Texas doesn't really to acknowledge it...). So to fix that maybe set one team from each pod and rotate the other two? So Texas every year plays OU, KSU, and ____ and every two years switches between OSU/TCU, KU/ISU, and ___/___.
