LMAO why would a vintage clothing store think they'd see any sort of revenue increase from the draft?
I'm guessing because they were told that 300,000 people would bring in $125 million of revenue?
Still find it ridiculous that stores that are typically not a destination where out-of-towners would spend money, are pissed at the government/mayor for this. Very small town thinking. People came here to do one thing, go to the draft, where they have food and booze available literally all day long. I'm sure $100 mil was spent, but it was spent at the draft and on hotels/lodging.
Did these biz owners expect the mayor to line out how the money was going to be spent? Knowing/anticipating your demo is a massive part of owning a business, having a down weekend sucks, but it's part of owning a business.
