In the future there is going to be an amusement park where people are in old-timey costumes and you can drive a car....uh, well I guess they already have that at World's of Fun...so like that but with cars we would consider modern.

the transition between self driving cars and people driven cars will be a complete rough ridin' mess

Yup. So is capitalism. It's a really messy process but somehow it all works out for the better eventually. Drones are a big mess right now with manned aviation - it'll eventually work itself out. I'm not saying this will happen tomorrow, but this is where we're headed.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Yeah.  I agree with everything you're saying, but even in 50 years, there will still be significant portions of the country driving their own cars.  How far are we away from a point where car companies stop manufacturing man driven cars?  30 years as a super conservative estimate?  Tack on another 20 years or so until the dinosaurs die out.

I'd be surprised if we reached true traffic efficiency like you discussed in my lifetime.

We should go to all self-driving cars before we transition to space cars, so that there is never a people-driven space car. Didn't you see how many wrecks oscar Willis got in?

OK, whatever, space car, air car...I just said the term that was already in use ITT.

Wait, are you saying you have never heard of the Fifth Element?

Don't you want to drive a space car, though?

It would be irresponsible of me to advocate for person-driven space cars (or air cars) just because I personally would like to drive one when I know it would cause more fatalities overall than only self-driven space/air cars.
