Great ideas. We'll incorporate a few, I believe.

The current/ex-coach angle is a must, I think. Fatty, the pics and extra media is something the company is placing extra, extra emphasis on. It will happen, as will a blog for me, I believe.

I like the book list idea, kind of as a tongue-in-cheek thing. I've heard that he has been giving motivational books to the custodial crew at Vanier.

I like the idea of having a coach give the definitive analysis because I've always maintained I'm not an expert on the game, and I don't want to be. I don't like putting myself out there like I know Xs or Os, either.

What else?

A game blog would be very nice, 2 birds with one stone there, you get some written material and have all your game notes.

Explain this, please. I'm intrigued, but how would it work? Kind of like the chat room here? I'd want it to be as interactive as possible...

We're thinking about revamping our college football gameday preview page...

The print newspaper, the website, or both?

The only time I've ever had your actual newspaper is when my neighbor's delivery guy hits the wrong door or when I'm in a waiting room for something.

You can't be racist and like basketball.

CBS Sportsline had "glogs" for all the NCAA tourney games.  Just kind of a running commentary during the game.  I'm sure they'll be active for games tomorrow.

Definitely the print version, hopefully the Web.

If you did a sort of blog that was available online for users to see as you type, maybe not full chat (I would think that would be too crazy to figure out what's going on all the time), but people could submit their thoughts to you or things to look for maybe, or just questions from fans that obviously aren't at the game.  EX:  After a Pick or breakdown on D or special teams "Who are the coaches chewing?".   I have no idea how feasible that would be.  BUt I think it would be cool.

Do a weekly Gameday feature on ex-Wildcats and what they think of the current team, what they're doing now, etc.
With all that Prince has done to excommunicate all the old players from the program this would be a good thing to get them reconnected.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I want a "smack talk" section where you explain all the dirt on the opponent.  It seems like it's fair game to attack Huggins with references to his DUI and graduation rates when previewing a game against KSU.  Turn the tables.

I see it as a sidebar with a greyed background for emphasis:

Weekly Dirt

Deadbeat Daddy

Brandon Rush was sued in Kansas City last March for unpaid child support.  According to courts.mo.gov the judgement was entered against him.  According to his mother, "I'm so happy to have a new little grandbaby.  We can't wait to get him into Myron Piggie's AAU program."

Small Lineup?

It is a widely known fact that Bill Self wears a toupee.  According to his ex-wife, he also has false teeth and a small penis.

etc.

also, do some interviews with disgruntled ex-players and their parents, a la the hatchet jobs that old fart for the mercury does. try to be as biased and one-sided as possible since the university can't comment on any of the stuff. forget integrity. your job is to sell papers and garner clicks.

That would be pretty cool, see what some former standouts are up to, what they think.
