I like Colon's attitude, his work ethic, and his "don't &@#% with me or I'll knock you the &@#% out" way of thinking on the court, but he's still learning basketball and is a step or two slower than every other player on the court.
JB has pretty good potential, but he needs to work on his hands more. I loved that putback against Okie State. If he could do that 2 or more 3 times per game he'd be our #1 center and running away with it, instead of basically splitting minutes with Colon, Afeli, Kent, and 'going small.' He's just got to be aggressive enough to go after the ball, and make sure he actually holds onto it instead of just knocking it out of bounds like he used to do so often.
I do see him improving pretty rapidly though.
It's funny. Stew has been bagged on by a lot of people throughout his years, but next year he's going to be the senior, experienced point guard that really glues the team together. Walker and Beasley have the talent, Stew and Hoskins have the ethic and experience, and Huggs has the winning mentality.
FWIW, I don't think Huggs has ever had such a talented team in the starting five. I know he's gone to a final 4 before, and I think that was with Kenyon Martin? Some of you Cinci guys help me out? (Sorry, I'm still young and didn't follow college ball until I got to K-state.)
But I'm pretty sure this lineup will be the best in terms of talent that he's ever had.
