    shame on you, non-believers
Every pundit I've heard, and even our own Wyatt Thompson this morning, has said we probably need at least 3 more wins to go Dancing. I've been under the impression this entire year that 10 conference and 20+ overall would lock us in. Why is that suddenly not the case, according to the media at least?

You can't be racist and like basketball.
I think it would be absolutely ridiculous if we didn't get in at 10-6.

I have no idea if that's only because I'm a huge homer or not.

Just win all the f'ing games.

That's kind of where I'm at right now. As I listened to Wyatt on the DA show on the way home this morning, and he said we need 3 (or 4! ) to go Dancing, I thought to myself, Am I just being naive about the Bob Huggins factor? But then I remembered that no Big XII team has ever been left out with 10 and 20+, so it's more than just homerism.

I think the local media is just covering their asses...er, bases.

True, but why are you guys worried?  10-6 will get you in.  You have to quit listening to guys like Weber, Kietz, and Wyatt.  Remember, its their first year of following basketball too.

We're worried because no one has any idea what the committee looks at and we're pretty sure we're on the bubble.

Congratulations on being the 100th illiterate ku fan to point out that irrelevant fact to us.

    It's a nlellephant...
I too think 10-6 gets you in.

The only way I see you getting left out as a 10-6 is if Texas Tech ends up one game behind you and wins more in the BigXII tournament.  They would have better "big time" wins.

I still think in that case they will forced to take 5 and move on....if they jump K-State to take Tech...that would suck for you.

10-6 is on the bubble barring a good showing in okc.  basically the 2 cu wins donīt count (if we donīt get 2 cu wins we donīt deserve to get in at 12-4).
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

I still say the Big 12 will get 5 or 6 teams in.

10-6 is bubble material at best.  Why?  Because our early season OOC was so weak and our RPI is suffering from that to this day.  And it didn’t help that our main competitor in the B12 to claim the final NCAA bid beat us on our own court.  We need 3 more B12 wins or 2 more B12 wins and at least one win in the B12 Tournement.

The problem is that our RPI is a little high (around 50-52) and we only have the 2 good wins.   USC actually fell out of the top 50 RPI, so our only win over a top 50 team is Texas.  Our conf record seems to get overlooked because of those 2 things, which is kinda BS

The thing that gets me, is another criteria the committee looks at is road wins and your record on a away/neutral court.  KSU has 5 road wins and we are 7-7 away from Bramlage.   OK ST does not have a road win all freaking year.  They have a handful of wins on neutral courts but none on the road.   They are also 5-6 in conf and have lost 5 of 7 ............ yet most of these "experts" probably have Osu in and us out.

Also, some of these experts don't pay attention as much to conf record because it is not complete.  ACC has 2 teams who are 5-7 and Joe Lunardi of ESPN has them ahead of a 8-4 Ksu team. However, he pretty much said those ACC teams need to avoid being under .500.  So he is basicly saying they need to finish 3-1 or they will in serious trouble.

We get in because Bob Huggins will be a media draw.

Cincinnati is a big market.

We SHOULD win our first game in the big 12 tourney giving us 11 big 12 wins on the season if all goes well.

With somethign to play for like that we should be able to win at least 1 in the tourny...especially if we can lock up that bye.  Granted if we lose enough to lose that bye, we will need two in the tourny

No matter where we finish, our friday game should be interesting.  Likely a match-up with Tech, OSU, or OU for a 2nd time.  Another win over a south opponent would be a big boost.

I'll take Tech out of those three...

Having a game vs. OU 2 games in a row wouldn't be favorable I don't think..and playing either OU or OSU in OKC would not be ideal I don't think.

If we finish at 10-6, it is almost certain that we will be a top 4 seed and thus not be playing on Thursday.

If we win our quarterfinal game, i think our chances are close to 100% to being in.
