It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I almost put that but I don't like the game in Stillwater

K-State SWEEPS ku and goes further in the NCAA tournament  :beerchug: (ku fires Self shortly after  :crybaby:)

I think we go

L  at  Kansas  Coming off the loss, I think they get us
W  Colorado  Win
W  at  Nebraska  I say this should be a pretty easy win, but some of you pick us as losing this one
W  Iowa St.  Win
W  Kansas  The streak ends!
W  at  Colorado   Win
L  at  Oklahoma St.  I could see us winning this game if things go right
W  Oklahoma   I could also see up maybe losing this one if things go wrong

23-8

I hope we win in Lawrence but I keep saying that our luck has to eventually run out and it hasn't so maybe if I doubt us again we can pull it off. I was a big believer in OSU until they lost to CU yesterday so who knows which way that one will go. I don't think anyone can safely say which way this is going to go but I can say that it's going to be a heck of a ride.

If luck were the reason this team was winning that would be true ....

"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

You misunderstood me. Should I have said "good fortune" instead of "luck"?

This team hasn't been lucky. Our winning will continue as long as one thing continues, effort. All they have done is found a way to win. Every single game we have found a way to win. I doubt that we do it in Lawrence, but we'll see...

Add two wins in the B12 Tourney and we are 24-10 with about a #30 RPI.  That is NCAA Tourney material! And about a #6 seed or so.  With one win in March Madness we go to 25-11 for the year.  And incidentally, Huggs has averaged almost exactly 25 wins per year damn near forever...

I like symmetry: 6-2 in our last 8; 7-1 in our next 8; 8-0 in the final 8.

11-5, I'll be estatic.  The "loss we don't expect" could be in Lincoln, but I'm going to that game so I won't pick us to lose there.  Yeah, the 2 losses at the end would be difficult, especially with one to CU, but I think its reasonable that we might lose one nobody thinks we'll lose.

10-6.  I'm not convinced that these guys have entirely shaken off Woolitis.  Maybe they have, but once the streak ends I think they may be shaky in a couple of games.  Hope I'm wrong.

I just don't see 4-4 in the last 8 with this team. 5-3 at worst.

I agree, barring an injury to Cartier or Hoskins.  I don't think either of those guys will "let" us lose more than 3, and they might just help put this team in position for a league title.  I do think we've got another Tech left in us where things don't go quite right on either end, but that game is really the exception to the Big 12 season for us.

We might lose at NU as well.  At some point, I think we might tire.  We can't keep giving the type of effort we've been giving.....can we?

Great question.  This is one area that no one has talked about, but I think Huggins has been masterful in how he's used his bench.  While everyone might wonder why Kent got in, that's a few more minutes you can rest Hoskins or Martin.  Right now we've got no player in the Top 10 in minutes played in overall stats or just Big 12 play.  We've got no one playing more than 27 minutes per game on the year either.  Huggs has got these guys playing hard, but he's giving them the best opportunity to play hard b/c he plays so many people.  Huggs and his staff do a great job getting guys in when the match-up is favorable as well.  With the S&C this team has been through, the experience of most of the players, and the way Huggs uses his bench I don't see fatigue down the stretch being a factor and in fact we may be able to use it to win some games down the stretch like @ OSU who I think could get caught by fatigue a little bit this year with their short bench.

Wow.  That's great.  I wonder if Walker would have continued to average around 38 had he not been injured.

Also, OU is VERY underrated.

They started a bit slow but Capel has them playing very good ball right now.  That game definitely has the potential to be the loss we don't expect, I'm glad it's in Manhattan.
