After two days of sales, K-State had already taken orders for nearly three-fourths of its ticket allotment with about 7,000 tickets committed, athletics director Tim Weiser said.

I wonder how many have been sold through ticketmaster. I was checkin around on there for the best available seats on the KSU side and there wasn't jack. Best seating on the 3rd deck for 3 tickets in a row was like the 10 yd line.  Went ahead and went through ksu ticket office, even though in the 8 bowls i've been to, had decent at best seats one time (and that was the copper bowl)

Yep, the Copper Bowl is the only one I was able to get decent tickets for via KSU.  I went with scalpers for most of the rest.

Just bought 4!

CANNOT WAIT!
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I'm assuming that KSU will sell their school allotment (10,000?), but what are the current estimates on how many Cats will be in Houston?

25,000? 30? 35? :katpak:

The more the better.

15k if we're lucky.  KSU has sold 9k and the Houston Bowl sold 35k before the teams were announced but only an additional 6k since.  This isn't going to be an excellent KSU turnout. :frown:

Fortunately, your calculations are off.  The bowl includes the team allotments in the 33k that were sold before the match-up was announced. They also include all the tickets purchased by ticket agencies.  When the figure of 7,000 of our allotment had sold was leaked, I calculated we had about 20K K-Staters going based on the poll of how people were buying their tickets on GPC. Right now, I think we're at around 24-27K.

Who the hell would want to go? It's the freakin Texas Bowl...there are women's lacrosse matches that will probably drawn more in attendance, and be picked up by an actual network.

The funniest part is that ESPN televises bowling, pool tournaments, and dog shows, yet whan it comes to the "Texas Bowl" they passed. That speaks volumes to how relevant this matchup of also-rans is.

 :ku:- limp wristed K-Lite fan.

The sad part is that as pathetic as your attempts to talk smack are, they're slightly better than your team's ability to play football.

The Texas Bowl...matching up the second best team from Kansas, and about 8th best in a 12 team conference against a Cinderella team whose clock struck midnight about two months ago...how compelling....

Is Brooks Berringer going to the Cotton Bowl to watch NU this year?  Or will he just stay at home and take a dirt nap through the entire game?

The 2006 Texas Bowl will be televised live nationally on NFL Network at 7 p.m. CST on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Reliant Stadium. The Texas Bowl held the third selection among BIG EAST affiliated bowls and the eighth slot among Big 12-affiliated bowls.

Well looks like you have a live game, but still on a network that no one gets. Of course since no one would be interested in watching it anyway, the fact that no one gets it probably won't trouble anyone.

Looks like the Texas Bowl had the eighth slot among Big 12 teams, funny that you lasted that long...

I get NFL Network, everyone who subscribes to  DISH or DirectTV service gets NFL Network, that equals 28 Million subscribers.    In total NFL Network has 41 million subscribers.

Or . . . you can kickoff at 9 am MST, 8 am PST on New Years Day.

Always a great ratings event when your bowl game kicks off when 80% of the nation is still in bed or hungover . . . or going up against the Tournament of Roses parade.

Cotton Bowl = major bowl, played on New Years Day, with a ton of history and two top teams.

Texas Bowl = new bowl, for teams that shouldn't be bowling, with no history, and a team from a weak conference (Rutgers) and one of the weakest teams ina  decent conference (that would be K-Lite)

Pretending that you'd rather play in the Texas Bowl on a network that no one even gets, especially in Manhattan is just plain funny.

Not saying that at all dumbass.  You just keep mentioning how "nobody" carries the NFL Network (Just 41 million subscribers) . . . and I point out how 70% of the country will still be in bed when the Cotton Bowl kicks off.

Geezus . . . you're a dumbass.

Shouldn't you be mounting Chunky-Monkey right about now??
