Ok, everyone (well almost everyone), who goes to Yellowstone, will want to see Old Faithful Geyser erupt.  It's really easy, since the geyser averages an eruption about every 90 minutes.  The rangers can predict it within +/- 10 minutes, 90% of the time.  Here are some pictures:

A couple more lighthouses, this time on Lake Superior:

Whitefish Point Lighthouse.

Crisp Point Lighthouse is located on Lake Superior and is located somewhere in the vicinity of Paradise, MI. This is not really a trip, it is more like an adventure. The trip is approximately 37 miles from Paradise, Michigan and takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes driving normally. At the lighthouse you are about 18 miles from a paved road, 23 miles from the nearest electricity, and 27 miles from the nearest gas station, restaurant, and grocery store.

Some more Fresnel lenses:

The first fourth order Fresnel was installed in Marquette Light in 1866.

Big Bay Lens.   The lens is a third order fixed Fresnel. The lens stands about 12 feet tall on the pedestal and weighs about a ton. Its nominal range is 18 miles.

The Stannard’s Rock lens proper weighs about two tons and the iron pedestal another two tons. The lens stands roughly ten feet high and has a diameter of five feet. The 12 bulls eyes are intended to provide a flash as the lens rotated at a speed of one revolution every three minutes. Visibility of the light was a nominal 25 miles although it could be much greater or less depending on weather and atmospheric conditions. The longest reported sighting was 45 miles.

It is a second order classical 12 bulls eye Fresnel lens built in Paris in 1880.
