No, Kellis is worse. Kellis may be the worst sports writer I have ever read, which was by accident. I didn't realize that Kellis wrote for the kc star. I read an article, and thought it was uncharacteristically bad. My actually thought was that it was so white-bread and ku-ish. I looked up at the byline and saw that the answer was jayhawk cookies.

I miss jmart. Why is there no jmart emoticon?

JMart was phenomenal and spoiled us for sure.  But Meek, Kitchen, and Manbeck do a pretty solid job.  Like I said, we got spoiled by JMart.

nope.  Other than not be a giant douchebag, what has Meek done that Kellis hasn't since Kellis came on?  They both write the same boring gamers and have the same boring blogs.  Nothing interesting comes from either of them, (especially w/ regards to recruiting).  I'm waiting for Meek to prove me wrong.

I think they are a quite a bit better than Kellis but i'd agree most of Kellis's rep is based on being a horrible person.  And that one could really separate themselves if they got a handle on recruiting.

Meek use to have more on the recruiting side of things when he was competing with JMart, he must of let up off the gas when JMart left.  No competition has made him ease up and start coasting.

I don't know that he isn't doing that.  However, he is focused on the Kansas State recruiting beat.  Having his ear to that "beat" requires a $10,000 stethoscope and a ton of patience with little reward.  If he were covering recruiting of other schools it would make more sense to check in with people who make a difference.

If it were me might I start some campaign of lost/un-pursued recruit stories to shame/humiliate Snyder using Butler, CC coaches and Texas H.S. coaches as my named/unnamed sources?  Maybe, but cui bono?  You and me who would be fascinated by it?  Sure, but it would put Meek's ass in the air.

You sound like the "stars don't matter" crowd that thinks if you're unhappy with our current recruiting, you think we should be outrecruiting Alabama and USC. 

I'm not asking him to unseat GPC - I'm just asking him to appear to try to be more than Kellis.

So - and here's the news-y part - it's little surprise that Bryce Brown is keeping an eye on Signing Day. If the Vols don't land more top-notch talent, which is one of the main reasons he went to Knoxville in the first place, he might be inclined to leave. Might be, people. He isn't looking to leave, but the Vols need to keep improving on what Kiffin started in order for Brown to feel secure, it seems.

And then there's this:

"If kids are looking around and trying to go somewhere else, the first place I'd recommend is K-State," Butler said.

honest question- wouldn't he be better off with less talent coming in which would allow him more time on the field or what?  isn't he at all concerned with the new coaching staff?
