A reporter from the mountain folk suggests these conferences:

Big 10: Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State.

Big 12/Southwestern: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Baylor, tcu, Arkansas, SMU, Houston

Pac 10: Colorado, Utah, USC, UCLA, Stanford, Cal, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State

Mountain West: Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Boise State, Air Force, Brigham Young, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV, Wyoming

And MWC would be a BCS conference.

Of course, this would mean the one conference with a CCG probably loses it where the others would add one.

The wounded pecker that wrote that article hates K-State, and is always designing ways to remove us from dominance of Colorado.  Maybe if the Buffs were more competitive, this guy would quit wet-dreaming KSU out of the same conference as CU.
