Anybody watch? I think my U.S. pride is at an all time high right now.
"I will pay any referee to sit in the post and let somebody beat the crap out of him and see how he likes it, see how his back likes it, how his arms like it. Just because Mike is 6-8 and 260 pounds doesn't mean he doesn't hurt when he gets fouled." Craig Esherick

CAN. NOT. WAIT.

the WC is the greatest sporting event in the world and the U.S. will crash the knock out round and slaughter England right off the bat. We will make Becks cry! :excited:

    The very best.
world cup is great stuff, but i still prefer the summer olympics.

well, actually there are pretty close. both are the best though (outside of the dr. pepper or phillips 66 of course)
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Love the CUP. Watched some of the 06 Cup at Rustys( :yuck:) with friends, all draped in american flags of course.

I think my grandpa killed somebody once, but he never liked to talk about Kent State.

Would be fantastic to make Beckham cry via a Donavon goal.

Although when I think about it we are just as likely to see Beckham set up a header to win 1-0.

So yeah, should be a great game.  :piratecaptain:

Hope we lose really quickly so I don't have to watch highlights on SC and stuff.  Hate it when the top ten consists of a bunch of balls bouncing off of dude's heads.  That's what she said.

World Cup in HD is incred.  wish it were Fox HD instead of ABC/ESPN HD but I won't complain.

Agreed.  Makes it really easy to see what happened when someone goes down with a fake injury.  Sometimes when I'm watching in SD I make the mistake of thinking someone actually touched someone else causing an injury.   :users:

after hours of examination I'm going with Group D as the toughest group.  Germany, Australia and Ghana all made it thru to the knockout stages last time around while Serbia crushed a good France team in their qualifying group.  i like Serbia and Germany to advance but would not be surprised if any of these teams made it thru then advanced past the Group C winners (hopefully USA & England) in the round of 16.

the next toughest group would be what most are calling the group of death, Group G: Brazil, Portugal, Ivory Coast and Kim Jung Il.  in Germany 2006 Ivory Coast was also given a terrible draw having to get out of a group with Holland, Argentina and Serbia.  This time around it's a little easier as no one expects N Korea to muster even a draw in their 3 matches.  So it comes down to one game pour Didier Drogba et 'Les Elephants' against the 2008 FIFA world player of the year, the greasy one (Christiano Ronaldo), and his fellow Portuguese.  this the first game of the Cup for both these teams taking place on Monday the 15th of June

only 181 days until S Aftrica kicks it off against Mejico on Friday the 12th of June.

I think I'd go with the Germans and Ghana in group D. Essien owned WC06. He's not played great for Chelsea since then, so I think I'd look for him to turn it up again in this WC.

As far as group G goes. This is a big WC for Ronaldo. He was $hit in 06 and if he ever wants to be known as the type a play who was big for his country, he'll need to do it this year because he'll lose his legs by WC14. Speaking of players who've lost their legs...Drogba. He's still probably Ivory Coast's best player, but he's not the man he was 2 or 3 years ago. I think Brazil will win the group and portugal will be runner up in this group.

England would win our group, which I'm happy with. I'd love for the USA to win it's other group games and then save thier luck and make some noise in the knockout rounds. Should be a fun summer.

If I ever make it to Europe, I'm going to be the ugliest god damn ugly American they've ever seen.  I'm going to completely ruin every European's view of Americans forever.  Non stop: "frack you, you limey bastard.  If it wasn't for Uncle Sam, you sorry mother frackers would be speaking German while you eat your crapty, bland ass food.  And don't you say a God damn word Frenchie.  The next time you fags do anything manly will be the first time.  Hey you, dude from Spain- you're cool."  Matter of fact, I think it would be very beneficial for all if I was to set up an ass kicking line for any and all Euros that want to rumble.  That's right, I'm talking a JTKSU open invite to fight any Euro in real life.  You think you're bad ass cause you got old buildings?  Well come prove it, you effeminate assholes.   :twobirds:

If you go, and somebody offers you free tickets and arranges a time/place for you to get them, will you show up to pick them up?    :curse:
