Just remembered that today's opposite day.  SteveDave told me he was trembling in fear at the possiblity of ku having a coach that wasn't 400 pounds overweight.

That was to trick your program into firing him.  Totally worked!  Have you not read this thread :dunno:

What was it about his 23-41 record in the Big 12 that had you so impressed?

23-41 at ku is like 37-9 at KSU.  Winning in Lawrence is damn near impossible.  No future coach will ever have that high of a Big 12 winning percentage at ku.
I personally feel bad for the next sap.. :-[

    Angry KSU Fan.
I know I just let out a big sigh of relief.  The only threat to our return to dominance is now gone.  Amazing what Mangino was able to do with that garbage program.  What's even better is the way that ku treated Mangino assures us that no more good coaches will even consider ku.

I mean really, he's been successful wherever he's gone.  K-State, OU, ku.  He took their garbage program to a 12 win season and an orange bowl win.  WTF were they thinking when they decided it was a good idea to push out the best thing to ever to happen to their program!?  I can't believe the incompetence.

This is a very good thing for emaw football indeed.  One more guaranteed W every year.  In-State recruits back to having only one viable local option for school.  I'm thrilled, personally.

Great job making this happen K-Statriots.  But really, we should give credit to Snyder, the real mastermind behind this.  There's no doubt we couldn't have made this happen if he hadn't beaten the genius that is Mangino this year.

When we came up with the plan to make ku fans and admin think Mangino was terrible 8 or so years ago, I'll be honest, I didn't think they would fall for it.  I also didn't think our fanbase had enough stick-to-it-iveness to keep it going but, by God, we did it.  Three cheers to all the EMAWs that took part and made this day a reality.   :kstatriot:

    EMAW!!!
What MM did at ku is FAR more impressive than what Snyd's did here, you simply cannot win at ku.  I mean he took them from 64-0 beatdowns to the motha frack'n Orange bowl!  OMG, ku!

It really is time to stick out the olive branch and reinstitute the 'ol run game coordinator.    I think he has a chip on his shoulder and it is what jesus would do and Bill is as close to Jesus as God allows on earth so i think it is fitting.

Honestly, they fire a guy basically because he isn't soft enough as a football coach. Interesting logic...

Their biggest problem pre-Mangino was everyone in the conference knew they were not tough, that you could basically push them around all over the field. Mangino arrives and they are suddenly a little less pussy - actually become a mediocre force in the conference...

Bill should totally get Mangino into the Vanier Complex just preparing us to demolish uk on the ground...

I've heard rumors of Jim Harbaugh, but see no way he is leaving Stanford for uk, especially when ND may come calling...

You guys are silly.  I agree that it is difficult for any coach at a Kansas school to win a BCS bowl game.........ask Old Balls.  Outside of that achievement for which I give Fat Man a good dose of credit, his other achievements are definitely within reach by the next coach assuming we hire any one of the names that are being floated around currently.  By the way, Sweet Lew deserves much credit for getting us in the Orange Bowl in the first place.

Have fun the next two years!  You are the onset of demensia away from enjoying more Ron Prince like seasons.

Really what did Lew do?  Give away ticket at home games so the stands looked packed, did he buy off the Orange bowl comm.  I know he had his mafia buddies in Miami squeeze the comm. by threating their families.  :ohno: Your right he does deserves all the credit.

What is it with you and M. Mangino's weight?

Sheesh.

As far as we know Lew is not responsible for any wrongdoing in getting us to the Orange Bowl (although I don't put it past him).  He did campaign actively before the Big Twelve Title game.   Missouri was a better team that year and deserved to go to the Orange Bowl.  Having said that, we went out and won the game, something K-state's glory years couldn't accomplish.  I enjoyed every fracking minute of that game.

The humor of this thread is how K-state fans are responsible for brainwashing "retards" like me into calling for Mangino's head.

So Lew set the '07 cupcake schedy, won the big 12 (which you didn't do), and put your team in the Orange bowl. To bad he did none of that.

Yes I understand the thread, SD did get you "retards" to call for the '07 NCoY's head.  The same coach you sang songs about, and made slogans like "History Awaits". :nahnah:

Dear Steven David,

Next time please focus your mind altering meditations on Lew Perkin's himself. Convince him to quit his job at ku and come work full-time as the athletic director for Kansas State University.

Wouldn't it be nice to have an athletic director that cared about the success and actively promoted the athletic programs of your favorite institution. I think this would be a much more reasonable and effective use of your powers.

When can you start?

Stay the course.  Remember, this is just phase I.

Phase I - trick ku fans into thinking coach Mark Mangino is a bad coach and get him fired.

Phase II - trick ku fans into thinking new garbage coach that they hire is really good, thus persuading them to keep him forever.

  Phase III - LOL

The campaign went so well. I remember thinking two years ago when all we had was "He's so fat" that this isn't going to work. But each reminder was a drip of sulfuric acid eating away at his fan base it was as porous as a bee comb.
Well done, fellow EMAWers, well done.

And may I be the first to state I live in absolute dread of the program-building architect big Lew will bring to Lawrence.

What phase is the:  Bag on coaching choice purposely so as to expose the tru believers and then agree with them, fake admonish self for ever thinking the choice was bad and emphatically agree it was a great hire . . . maybe the best hire ever . .  . end with another, "I just don't what I was thinking".
