Clemente, of course

Defense. Really has been as good as it was out of the gate last year.

Rebounding, Come on, where's the scrap. I'm already tired of seeing Judge act like a pussy after getting whacked inside. If you want to stay on the floor. shake it off and keep playing.

Free throw shooting. I accept Kelly, Sutton, H-R are going to suck all year long and Judge and Samuels are going to come and go. But Pullen and Clemente struggling is pussy crap.

Offense. Hell, I knew it wouldn't be there, but can we catch some balls and quit having big men holding the ball 20 feet from the basket with no idea what to do until the lob a pass that's going to get picked for a layup?

I'm only starting to melt down.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
clemente played like he played in about half the games last year, and was pretty good in the second half.  I don't know why everyone is expecting the texas game out of him every night.

Defense was all that was really bad.

    Sniff Sniff. . . I smell Heisman.
i saw rusty post that we aren't playing as hard this year it looks like.

kinda agree with that.

also would like to be a little more dominant on the boards.

our defense is just bad right now, esp. in the post.
csourk is the best pre-college poster on this board.  way better than oxlp956

I was disappointed that Frank didn't yank Clems and put in Irving or Russell to prove a point early on.  WTF, Frank?  That's your MO!

Where are the steals this year? Used to get a lot of easy buckets off of them.

    Hey, basketball!!!
JHR. Looked confused out there and would mistime every single block. Also, how many rebounds did he end up with? Didn't seem like too many...

And last but not least, Dom-Sutt.

Sutton made some really good plays in the first half.  Honestly, though, he should not be allowed to shoot anything other than a layup or dunk.

Defense and rebounding, especially the overall effort put into these two.  This is what makes Frank's teams go, and we aren't doing it right now.

Free throws and defensive intensity.  No excuse for not making them (especially Kelly if we're going to build our offensive philosophy out of banging down low to him) and showing it.

I accept that the team still needs to find its chemistry and come together.  That's why we look out of synch and don't appear to have an offensive philosophy or consistent look.

IDK? - I was expecting to see real slop out of Judge given comments I've read, but he actually looked pretty damn good for a freshman on TV.

Would've loved to see more McGruder.

Shake it off, come back improved on Sunday.

    warm up the EMAW
Quezbert is finally getting banged against bigs with a pulse.  The dissapointment continues to be returning starters like jam sam and sutton.  They need to step the eff up.

Kelly should have had way more touches and we shouldve tried to feed him and jam sam more when the first 10 threes weren't going.

In the end that was the difference, 3pt shooting and ft.  It will happen and be maddening this year but we ride our backcourt way too much for them to not drive/create oppys/get fouled more.  Jam sam and sutton can help here too by crashing boards and finishing around the rim on dishes.

Free throw shooting...I know nobody is trying to miss, but seriously, it is not that hard to knock down an open 15 footer 3 out of 4 times. (at least for the majority of the players)

Defense...It's early and obviously it will get better, but we have guys way out of position trying to do too much.  Quit trying to block every shot and get in position to get a rebound.  Still need to get better at fighting through/around picks, as well as taking charges (That has been a huge part of their success the past couple of years).

Constant Trash talking...A little bit on the court is normal, but finish the F'n play instead of shouting crap out as you release the shot.  Every single time some of our guys shoot they think they have to do this.  Plus, they look really stupid when they shout out "AND 1", yet can't even hit a free throw...you don't get the AND 1 if you miss the easy shot, so until you can do that consistently, you might want to STFU.

I'm still excited to see the improvement as the year goes on, but hoping it doesn't take too long!

1. FT shooting
2. giving up threes and missing too many threes
3. we don't get jack sh1t in transition for a team that's uptempo and has the fastest player in the country. why can't we get a few cheap ones?
4. FT shooting
5. defense in general

I couldn't agree more with that.  I've always said we need to get at least 1 taunting tech a week (serious).

I don't expect Texas every game but he has looked bad all year.  I did not watch the game tonight but have been to all three in Manhattan.  He consistently dribbles the ball out of control down the court, runs into three defenders but instead of passing the ball out throws up some junk shot that would normally be seen in a girls basketball game.

ANYTIME the other team drops 80 on you, you're defense is cr@p!

The fact that Ole Miss was bigger, faster, more physical and more athletic than we were at about every position.

CKel getting smoked to the glass from the top of the key on 25 consecutive plays to open the second half.  Overall, our defense was terrible, and when it was good they still made shots

Also, I said if they played zone we'd be f*cked, but we actually handled it fairly well.  I guess that's my surprise, first time I've seen a Martin coached team handle a zone.

This was a team loss. Not an individuals loss. KSU looked quick and sharp at times but didn't sustain. Lacked focus and discipline. I think this was predictable and KSU players will learn very quickly it's not about them. Teachable game. Very similiar teams in my opinion. Ole Miss had continuity and discipline to go with their athletisism.

In order:

1. Defense-Intensity, Rotations, Rebounding
2. Free Throws-There is no excuse for this whatsoever.  To shoot less than 50% from the line is a complete abomination.
3. Guard Play-Both Pullen and Clemente have shot like dog shizt all year.  Both are turning it over and getting beat on defense also.

I've been disappointed the whole season with how flat we are playing.  This team will get good, but I'd hoped we'd be a team that could sneak a couple impressive victories in the noncon with our experience and athleticism and it looks like we don't give a damn.

i was disappointed that regardless of how crapty we played... we STILL could have easily won this game... and it will be one of several non-con slip-ups that keep us out of the big dance  :curse:

Defense and rebounding, especially the overall effort put into these two.  This is what makes Frank's teams go, and we aren't doing it right now.

And its a shame too...prolly the third or or fourth most talented team in the big 12...and prolly near the bottom in coaching...

We use to always bitch about not having any athletes...well no we got them...time to start bitching about our high school junior varsity guido head coach.

You know that Frank isn't of Italian descent, don't you?  Cause you've called him a guido like 5 times in the last 5 minutes and you're really just making yourself look like an even bigger dumb ass than you already are.

Who the f gives a sh*t?  calling that trashy bastard a guido is doing him a favor anyways...not like Fidel would want his ass back anyways.
