The latest -

Notre Dame - Tommy Tuberville has been talking to Notre Dame's AD while other names being thrown around include Cincinnati's Brian Kelly, Florida's Urban Meyer, Stanford's Jim Harbaugh, Iowa's Kirk Ferentz, Oklahoma's Bob Stoops (why does this make sense? Apparently OU's AD is in consideration to be Michigan's new AD) and Oregon's Chip Kelly

Kansas - UConn's Randy Edsall, Buffalo's Turner Gill, Houston's Kevin Sumlin, Central Michigan's Butch Jones and Oklahoma's DC Brent Venables

Kansas City Chiefs - Charlie Weis could be the Kansas City Chiefs next offensive coordinator after Todd Haley realizes that he can't be both HC and OC

Memphis - LSU assistant HC Larry Porter and Washington Redskins secondary coach Jerry Gray

I think Harbaugh would be the best fit of any of those listed for ND. Smart guy and proven winner.

The ND job is such a coaching career killer right now.

Who would want that. It's cursed.

The latest:

1. Add the Cleveland Browns to the Charlie Weis rumors. The connection? One of Cleveland's QB's is former Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn

2. Despite the fact that Oklahoma OC Kevin Wilson and OL coach James Patton have taken heat this year don't expect Mark Mangino and Chuck Long to return

3. According to people close to UConn, HC Randy Edsall has no interest in a potential job at Kansas

4. Denver's CBS affiliate is reporting that Dan Hawkins has been told that he will definitely be back in Boulder next season

Harbaugh would make a lot of sense, especially considering his experience with higher entrance requirements at Stanford.  Not that I even know if Notre Dame's entrance requirements are necessarily valid for the majority of their student-athletes.

Don't think Harbaugh would go to ND.  Even though he sold out his Alma Matter (Michigan) by trashing the admin standards there, I would bet he is still hoping for the job there some day.  Going to ND would prob eliminate those chances.  Plus, he has it pretty good at Stanford right now.

BTW, how fracking weird is it to say Stanford Cardinal?

Unless you're like 50+, you've probably never heard them referred to as anything else.  Stanford Indians sounds weird to me.

Louisville - Tommy Tuberville
UNLV - Dennis Franchione

That's the type of guy I imagine they will eventually hire.  Pretty big name, so he'll have the booster's consent and should be able to recruit.  Hasn't been around college in forever, so he probably doesn't realize how bad the ND job is now-a-days.  Plus, it probably pays much better than his studio gig.  If the dude does well, it's his job until he retires.  Which may only be like 5 years, but he'll probably get fired before than anyway.

I was listening to the game today, and they were saying that some people close the the ND situation said that there was interest in Brian Billick (sp?).  Sounds more like a ND hire to me.

Watching the 2 Pelini brothers yell at each other was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.  They both look so ridiculously ugly and retarded.

No, of course not if you want to win.  ND has fooled the media into thinking that they are a big-time job, or the fans/administration actually thinks they are bigger than they really are.  (Nobody drinks the Golden Kool-aid like Lou Holtz, though.)

Brian Billick is the sort of horrible, big-name hire they would make when they realize they can't get a real coach like Stoops or Meyer to leave their top-level jobs to go into a no-win dead end situation like ND.

they do have an exclusive national TV contract.  So, the perception kind of forces reality here.

Edsall, says there is "no opening" at Kansas on gameday.  Definitely didn't say he was staying at UConn

He kind of looks like an extra from an Army movie, perhaps in the helicopter w/ Tom Beringer in Sniper???

The rumor of the day -

Now that "Jesus in a football uniform" is about to graduate with his National Championships and Heisman Trophy, Urban Meyer might be interested in moving on. Not to Notre Dame but to the NFL.

Pretty obvious what has to happen in that situation.  Tebow will simply coach the Gators on his days off from being the single best NFL player in the history of the world.  He'll be the first guy ever to win a Heisman, and an NFL MVP in the same year.  And the first to ever win a Super Bowl as a player mere weeks after winning the NC next year as UF's head coach.  He will also cure cancer.  And the economy.  Simultaneously.  Then he'll take a day off.

No worries dude.  Timday will come right after Sunday.  You know how Sunday used to be a day of rest, but now we all seem to still be super busy on Sundays?  Tebow fixed that for us.  And to compensate for the extra days on the calendar?   Tebowary.
