I registered my group today (8 people).  Basically we have worked it out that if you do not go to the game it is your responsibility to make sure your ticket gets scanned.  Either show up and scan the ticket or give it to someone you know will be going to the game.  We left people out and pissed people off that we know we cant trust to do this.  It's just the way it is.  I'm not going to sacrifice my spot in line because one person wants to be lazy.

Nope.  The rules are quite effective.  See student crowds for 2 homegames.

The key words are "incentive" and "accountability."  Anybody who has taken economics or read freakenomics knows that behavior is driven by incentive.  Pre-Curry, there was no incentive to go watch the Western Illinois game on a Sunday.  Now, there is.  Plain and Simple.  Just watched it happen yesterday.

Also, by creating group registration, friends are accountable to their friends to not let the ball drop and be lazy.  Peer pressure is powerful.  No?  And if somebody has no choice in the matter, they will have to find a replacement instead of just not going to the game.

Curry knows what he's doing.   And I applaud him.   And I applaud the students for showing up to the bball games.  The entire atmosphere is boosted with a raucus student section.

How is Gameday going to work?  Do students get to go in at 10 and watch, or do they have to stay outside the whole time?

Easy, bud.  No need to call me a loser.  After all, I'm not the one who doesn't have any friends with whom to go to the bball games.  I'm also not the one who can't comprehend how the registration rules work.

Good luck at the job fair.  Your cognative learning skills are sure to boost your marketability.

Yeah, I got that.  But will students be waiting in line for the game at that time, or are they let in for Gameday?

The athletics department hasn't issued any specifics on how the students are going to work for gameday.  I hope they issue something more concrete soon.  It sure would suck if one person from each has to hold the place in line.  They will have to do a ticket system that allows students to enter The Fred and return to their spot in line.

I was complaining about this rule:

Quote from: that site
Once registered in a group, individuals may not switch.

There is only 1 way to comprehend that.

I understand what you're complaining about.  I just don't think there's any merit to your complaint.

This policy was published and emailed to students 4 weeks ago?  Roughly?  The students had ample time to find a group of people with whom to set up a group.  If you couldn't, then you could set up a group of 1.  Pretty simple.

Again, the whole idea behind locking people into groups before the season is accountability and incentive.  If the rule, about which you are complaining, did not exist, the whole policy would be moot.  Again, a pretty simple premise.

Get a group of people, register your group.  You had over a month to do it.

This rule really does give advantages to Greek houses with their ability to organize group efforts more effectively....not that I mind that at all.

Whatever fills the place up.

So, I want to be one of the ones with 9 games attended (so my average is a clear cut 9.0), and I don't have any friends that I'd put my place in line on them going to 9 games... Should I just register myself and make sure I get a good seat and hopefully theres some people around me, or how bad do u think the seats will get if my group ends up with an average around 6-7??

Very  :ohno:

Sick of re-reading the rules, and I just need a simple answer..> I think I've read it before, but it was a while back... When will the line-up begin? And can I just show up 91 minutes before the game and my spot in the iCat line will still be saved? mk, thanks...

Very  Oh No

I've talked to some people that aren't even going to register (stupid IMO).  I personally wouldn't want to risk having people that don't show up in my group.  We actually pissed one of my friends off because we wouldn't let him in the group.  His GF lives out of town and he insists on being in a group with her and she actually said she will only show up to the ku game.  I can tell you that I see A LOT of people scanning a ticket then leaving and scanning another one.  The ticket guys don't even say anything to them when they walk back in 30 seconds later.

All I read from that was this:

Quote
*ku Student Ticket Holder Line-up Registration
In order to ensure entry into the ku game is done as safely and fairly as possible, the Athletics Department in cooperation with SGA is implementing a preregistration procedure.  As a part of this procedure, your order of entry into the ku game will be based on the number of Men’s Basketball games you attend prior to the ku game on January 30.
·                You will register in groups consisting of 1-10 people.  This then is your line-up group for the game.

·                The average number of games attended by the members of the registered group will determine their place in line.

·                Students will receive one point for each men’s basketball game attended prior to the ku game.

·                There are nine home games in the student ticket package before the ku game, therefore the total points possible will be nine.  These nine  games are:

Too long, didn't read the rest
