Ow.

Went out to my yard to hack a little brush away.  Hadn't even been out there a minute before I heard some buzzing and a sting a few seconds later.  Little fracker got me on the right ear.  Then I felt another followed by a third on my left elbow.  Ran into the house.  About 6 of them hitched a ride on me in my clothes.  Fortunately didn't get stung again before we killed them all.

The one on the ear hurts. Bad.  The whole ear is kinda reddish-purple.  Not allergic as far as I know.

Sorry, honey. Can't work in the yard today.  Gotta watch football instead.

maybe if you kept better care or your immediate surroundings you wouldn't have encountered this problem.

Its a 40 hour a week job to keep up with the weeds in the summertime out here.  Not too worried about a small pile on the edge of the property.  That's the nice thing about living in the country.

Somehow got a small one in between my legs about mid-thigh.  Must've crawled up my shorts.

you work on your yard forty hours a week, have weeds, a burn pile and ferocious stinging animals. what exactly is the nice part?

No nosy neighbors, wild turkey and deer roaming through the yard, and I can whiz in my yard and no one cares.

This is absolutely key.

For the record, a quick antidote to yellow jacket stings is to put tobacco on it.  Snap a cigarette in half and put it on the sting and it will subside quicker.

Baking soda works fine since I don't smoke.  And its a helluva lot cheaper.
