It's a dumb argument.
He shouldn't be treated differently because he's the coaches son. You suppose that Cody Hawkins is a walkon?
Here's the thing, though: He is being treated differently precisely BECAUSE he's family. I'm not talking about the reason you THINK that I think that. I'm talking about something else that to my knowledge hasn't been brought up yet by anybody in these threads. Ready?
Anyone who has followed Manhattan High football players closely during the entirety of Snyder's tenure in Manhattan knows that it's very, very, very, VERY rare for him to throw scholarships at Manhattan kids. Like, pretty much nonexistent. There have been some amazing players who have come through Lew Lane/Butch Albright's ranks who definitely could've earned them from Snyder, but Snydz never offered them to kids from Manhattan because he always operated on the assumption that these kids have been born with K-State love from the beginning and there's a high likelihood they'll walk on. Coach Lane knew of Snyder's philosophy on this all along, Coach Albright knew it*, and anybody who played with the A.D. Mayses or Mike Nashes and saw them offered walk-on positions knows it. At the VERY most, he "encourages" them to walk on with hopes of
maybe earning a scholarship by the time they're juniors or seniors -- just ask Jason Kazar.
So yes, Snyder suddenly breaking this policy of his to offer a scholarship to.......ta da......
his own grandson smacks of nepotism. Maybe the kid's good at football. I don't know, I've never seen him play. But I can
guarantee there have been better players than Tate Snyder who went to Manhattan High and have shown interest in getting a scholarship to K-State and received less than what Tate's getting. THAT'S why Tate Snyder shouldn't be getting a scholarship from Bill Snyder. Because nobody else did.
MJ, I know you're ridiculously stubborn and will still be a vag and try to argue your way out of this, but unless you were raised in Manhattan watching MHS football every single week, year after year -- concurrently with Snyder's tenure, by the way -- you have no grounds for argument with the point I just made.
<----But I'm gonna guess you're still going to do that douchebag move you do a lot where you cross your arms, angrily sit there with your wiener between your legs, and pout.*--In fact, Coach Albright saw it unjustly happening to his players for so many years in a row that he eventually stopped making an effort altogether to promote his players to Snyder because he knew they weren't getting scholarships.
