Don't worry fellas.

We may be burying you in the facilities arms race and piling the dirt on with a fleetfull of skid loaders, but on the field come gameday our programs are still neck-and-neck.

 :beerchug:
Are you bragging about skid loaders now? JFC you could not be any more pathetic.
Fleetfull? Are you fu*king retarded, or is it just bull sh*t education you have?

lol, that is pathetic.
I can rest assured a uk "architect" put this steaming pile together, probably received excellent remarks and a bonus of sorts.
Probably along the lines of getting the honor to fatman's office towel boy.

Love the sign above the cafeteria window that says "Gourmet food".  Did you guys seriously have a retarded monkey design this.

One guy: "What do you want, hotdog, nachos?"

Another guy: "I was thinking about a burger maybe, wait, WAIT, it says gourmet food!  Awesome doodsz!"  :ugh:

Those renderings are awful. Exterior design is pretty mediocre if you disregard the clip art. Completely laughable including the clipart. Interior looks about as cheap as possible. Acoustic ceiling tile and grey carpet. The stairs aren't even to code. I like the amount of glass, but once they put in the rest of the columns, it won't look nearly as nice.

ew2x4 is awesome, and dead on.

That stadium will remain a POS for years to come, apparently.

Adding seating structure w/o private suites....maybe the dumbest thing I've ever seen by an AD.  Nice work.

You just reproduced what KSU did years ago minus more regular seating and more suites.  Wow, color me impressed.

Luxurious leg room!

Love the leg room.  Also love that the person sitting in the middle will have to make 12 people clear their seats so they can use the restroom/gourmet food cafeteria.

I was going to say crammed movie theater, except instead of 3d glasses you would need binoculars.

Explain how you're burying us by building something we've had for 10 years?  Maybe we should tear ours down and rebuild it to look more like a hospital cafeteria so we won't get left in the dust by ku.

I know plenty about HNTB, thanks. They've done a few decent sports projects, but mainly renovations and they specialize in mostly other building types. A typical huge firm. Not like, oh for instance, HOK Sports/Populous that specializes in sports and venue building types. Now that is a huge list of projects.

It's like if KSU just put a window in front of 1 section of the west side of the stadium and called it a suite.

HOK did the Booth hall of fame on Allen, gotta spread the work around to the KC companies I guess. Support all the ku alumni  ;)

It's similar to in-breeding, you know it's gonna come out looking like a retarded jack-a-lope with 3 eyez or some crap. But ku alums just have to strong of a desire to give their cousins the 'business'.

I like how you can still see all the match stick construction through the new exterior facade. Would be like a fat chick in a transparent negligee. Like, the effort was there, but it still doesn't hide what is behind it.

That's awful.

Let's be honest here. I like that they are making an investment, but this is crap.  Its a free standing building that does nothing to hide the ugly exterior on the east side.  Plus, how smart is it to spend that money to build onto 90 year old concrete?

I'm disappointed that the decision wasn't made to tear down the stadium and build new on the same spot.  What Minnesota did was impressive, and you could build a modern 55,000 seat stadium for $200-$250 million.  Instead, we get a bolt on building like Camerohead, except this one is about a quarter mile from the field itself.

I'm just underwhelmed.

Sorry to break it to you, but there are many more KSU grads there, and in most major firms in KC.

LOL at thinking HOK and HNTB aren't virtually a KSU alumni chapter.  Does ku even have a arch program?

I applaud Lew for finally stepping up and joining the Big XII in the 1990's.  I just wish it would be done before my elite east coast friends from Duke come in for the game.  I will have to show them some pictures and some clipart to try and improve their opinion of the Big XII.

Good Lord.  Get rid of the track already.  That should have come before pleather endzone seats and the club seating that's apparently for midgets.  It's embarassing to the rest of the Big 12.  Don't be shy, you can ask other schools what's cool and what's not.

Hint:  Facilities full of clipart everywhere and high school tracks around your field are not considered cool.  HTH.
