One thing you have learn about ku folks is that they practically turn violent if you try and tell them that K-State is better at something than ku. In several areas where both ku and K-State has the same programs, K-State is better . . . they just can't handle that reality very well, which is why they react the way they do. But we're the ones with the "complex" . . .

Look at how their administration reacted when K-State announced it's Olathe Innovation Campus . . . they were over in Topeka crying and demanding to be a part of it within hours. Within seconds after it was announced that the NBAF was coming to Manhattan, ku officials were over in Topeka crying to the Kansas Bio-Sciences Authority to fund a cancer research center for them. There's actually a pretty high amount of research collaboration between the two schools, but make no mistake about it . . . they cannot stand any success at K-State, and hate the thought of K-State getting something that they don't have.
Go back a few years and look at how they reacted when Wichita State contemplated opening up a Dental Medicine School . . . the folks at ku came unfreakingglued . . . which is why there's not any dental schools in Kansas, so if you're a Kansas kid and want to become a dentist, the closest you've got is UMKC or Creighton.
